Why windows media Center can't find my music files?

All my music is stored on a drive separate expansion and Windows Media Center has this drive configured as the search for the music folder but it is not picking up all the tracks in folders.  EG - on a single CD folder it shows only 3 of 14 titles available.  I tried to re - select the folder of extensible file again, but it still captures all the tracks?

(e) in the Open box, type run and then click OK

(f) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

(g) in the Open box, type % systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome, and then click OK.

(h) in the Details pane, right-click media center datastore.db and then click on remove.

(i) click Yes to confirm that you want to move the Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the trash.

(j) to start Windows Media Center, and then check.

DVD players are a common failure point in computers.

If yours is a desktop PC:

A replacement can be purchased for about $20 and is easy to install.  Remove all power.  Button Hold ON in during 7 seconds.  Open the case.  2 screws hold the disc instead of delete, then remove the two wires from the back.  Make slide the other in its place and reverse the procedure.

    If yours is the laptop:

It is part of the OEM.  Therefore, it is much more expensive.  Probably in the vicinity of $100.  You can instead buy an external DVD drive for about $25, which is connected by USB.  It has the advantage of being portable and universally adaptable to any other PC.

I have the media center of vista and I can not get digital signal...

I don't know if this reflects the problems you are having, but I had a similar problem with Windows 7 Media Center and my Tuner of TV Hauppauge WinTV HVR950Q. I know that I have entered digital HD but Media Center it would not recognize despite repeated attempts and various configuration changes. Finally, in total exasperation I changed my position of my real Canadian position at one South of the 49th parallel (e.g. American). My digital signal was instantly recognized within the TV configuration.

Someone needs to inform Microsoft that the Canada in digital TV effect and actually had digital broadcast metropolitan centres required by law since August 31, 2011. Maybe the program should be renamed media library.

  • Windows 7 Media Center can't find my DLNA certified DMP (an LG BD390 Blu - ray player model network).

I have a Player LG Blu - ray wireless connected to my home network.  Configuration of the network connection to the format Blu - ray says it is successful, and it is capable of downloading movies on the shared internet connection.  My management software from the network router (WRT610N model) Cisco Linksys® Network Magic Pro displays the Blu - ray player on its network card device.  LG Blu - ray player is a certified DLNA DMP (digital media player) device and the software supplied LG Nero MediaHome 4 (Server DLNA media graduate) successfully concludes the LG Blu - ray device when it starts.  So far, I've been unable to get the Windows 7 Media Center (supposed to be a media graduate DLNA server) to find my network Blu - ray player.  But the problem is more than just that the Media Center do not find my network device, even the 7 network and sharing Center window is not this network device when I select «View full map»  When I go to printers and devices on Windows 7 and select 'Add a device', it does not find my device of network Blu - ray player that passes by the Cisco Network Magic software and Nero MediaHome 4 software.  So what prevents the network of Microsoft Windows 7 software and Media Center software to my LG Blu - ray network player?

Media Center Extender technology owns and uses any DLNA.
I don't know why Umesh from Microsoft Support thought it was possible. You
will not be able to set up your Blu Ray drive as an Extender. You CAN use
Windows Media Player READ ON technology and streaming technology. You will not be
be able to use your new drive LG Blu - ray network as an extension inside the

  • Windows Media player or Windows Media Center can be used as a upnp client?

Windows Media Player / Center to Winbdows 7 as a UPNP client?

I'd really like to have this question answered for once and all. Can the Player Windows Media center to Win 7 be used as a upnp client? I want to use it to play movies on a HD support connected to my router. The router has a Media Server enabled on it which can broadcast video using upnp. I can find the folders on the hard drive and use them in my libraries in Windows Media Center, but if I'm not mistaken, that is not streaming and can be glitch. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Anyway can someone please carlify?
    Thanks in advance!

I can't tell exactly what you want to do for sure. It looks like you want
Windows Media Center to be able to read music and media of any computer your
network. To do this in Media Center, you must add these other records
places explicitly or in Media Center (using Windows Media
    Player/Libraries in Windows 7).

  • Windows Media Center has stopped finding the info guide

I have Windows Media Center in Windows 7

It worked very well for a few years, but about 2 months ago it stopped to show the guide.

When I set to manually record a string at a certain point it works very well.

I also think that, when I looked in the section regular programs, it shows programs at the request of record (I can check to confirm cela if nec.), but when I go on the Guide grid, maybe 1 or 2 channels appear and IE not avaiable

I have confirmed that the time is correct and tried to restart, and refresh the guide - but nothing has worked.

I contacted Zap2It - but they said that it is the Windows Media Center, causing the problem. -any help is appreciated.

FYI - I just did a full rescan of the tuner and channels - and now it works.

  • Windows 7, Windows Media Center and the library of music/photos/videos folders

I like the 'Libraries' feature in Windows 7.

You know the one - one which includes "Public Images" and "My pictures" and what I want in a single 'Photos' folder in Explorer.
However, it looks like Windows Media Center is tired directly according to the definitions in the library of my user id.
If I remove 'My pictures' library of Windows Media Center, or even from my XBox 350 Media Center Extender in the living room.  It removes a library of images for my UserID on the PC.
It's embarrassing. Because, in general, I want only the media center to search for media in public folders. But when records navigation using windows Explorer that I want to see too well 'My' and 'Public' files aggregated in libraries as usual.
To sum up: how to configure Media Center to analyze only the public folders without changing the definitions of on my PC library to contain only public folders?
If this can be done - can I at least do so the Extender sees only public folders and not mine, once it is configured? (I figured out how to do this, but it's a pain - add a new user name to the computer - configure the Extender by using that user - and then the extender will see not all documents under MY personal login at least.)
    Any suggestions?

    Hello

I am sorry to say that there are no options to make the changes you need. Scans of Media Center places appears, at this point, is by design.
