Why Windows Media Player suddenly not recognized my portable device even if the device is connected and is displayed in my computer?

Until a week ago, Windows Media Player and my portable device of Sanza fuse got along beautifully when sudden WMP ceased to recognize the device.  This despite the fact that the Sanza is correctly connected and appears in the personal devices from my computer.  The Sanza even shows on its screen that is connected, but it's like OMP no longer sees it? Any thoughts? This who could I have inadvertently done to cause this painful ' divorce? Thanks for any help.

When I go into the Panel and then programs and features, Windows Media Player is not in the list. If I click on the Start button, then all programs, his list here. Must indicate all items that are installed on my computer, at least I thought. If someone has an idea, I would appreciate a response. Thank you for your time and your help.

All the built-in programs that are part of the Vista operating system will NOT be displayed in programs and features. To simplify the reason, Windows Media Player 11 is part of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled. So there is not need to be listed in programs and features, whose main goal is to uninstall or repair any installed programs. Another example is Windows Defender.

    For your information:

In Windows 7, Windows Media Player 12 is also part of the operating system and it cannot be uninstalled and it will not reveal in programs and features either.

  • Windows Media Player will not play music files - need to reset the file path

I'm trying to access my music on an external drive (g) using windows media player. The player is looking for music in the E: drive, which is a separate external drive that my friend uses for its iTunes. How to reset the path to the file for windows media player? It gives me the possibility of rerouting individually paths files, but not a lot of re - routing. I have reset the default settings, reinstalled the drive external, even enabled/activated on WMP (of the Panel).

I tried. The drive G:\ was included in the WMP library before this problem (and to make sure, I deleted and added it). Despite this, the paths for each song pointed toward the drive E:\.  I solved the problem by deleting all of your WMP library (not files) and restart the media player. The files were then reread with the correct file paths.
