Why windows xp 32-bit supports only 3.25 GB of ram?

Tehre is no solution for this problem, and I don't want to install xp 64-bit,

coz its not user frndly, thank you

My apologies, I must have misread the topics when I did my first answer. For some reason, I got it in my head, whether you use Windows 7 32 bit.

I stand by my original comments well that although I appreciated now that you are referring to Windows XP.

If you want to go to 64-bit Windows XP I'm not sure if this is even possible now. Unless you buy a commercial version second hand. If you can, make sure that it comes with an installation CD.

To check the compatibility 64 bit XP the following may be useful...

It will be even more important to check the hardware/software compatibility via the websites of the manufacturers.

just a simple question. is there a version of windows xp 64-bit, I can download to try before you buy?  and it supports processors intel 64-bit? I am an i3 and Windows 7 4-bit, but a lot of my old games fail to run properly under him...

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and check for Windows XP "64 Bit" drivers for your specific model number.

If there are drivers Windows XP then download to a folder on your hard drive, burn it to a CD and then install all of them (if XP started ok), starting with the card mother/chipset, SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers, and so on.

Impoverish suggests that you create a backup of Windows 7 Image before starting the installation of XP.

  • Is - this Windows 2003 64-bit supports the USB WD My Passport HIS drive?

I bought a WD 2 TB my drive USB of HIS passport and tried to connect to a windows 2003 64-bit server, but the drive does not appear in the list of local drive. I checked in the computer management > Device Manager > ComputerName > discs and found that there is a driver for device usb WD My Passport 0748.

I conect the usb WD drive in my windows XP machine and copy the driver ITS \\Extras\WD device driver folder and transferred to local drive of the windows 2003 server and I tried to update the driver but the driver update failed and telling me that there are no compatible driver in the source folder.

Here are the contents of the folder:

    wdcsam - security catalog

    wdcsam - information for installation

    wdcsam - file system

    wdcsam64 - file system

I tried to search the site Web of WD for the compatible driver 64 bits, but, according to the Internet, the USB doesn't have a driver for windows because its use of the microsoft driver. Below are the links related to the topic of Microsoft and WD which, in my case, does not contribute to the problem.

  • Why windows 7 (64 bit) download does not work for a hp officejet 5610 all-in-one?

I changed operating systems from XP to Windows 7 (64 bit) on a new Toshiba Portege laptop and downloaded the new drivers from the HP site for my all-in-one Officejet 5610.  Nothing went well.  I can print but not scan, and often copy is extremely slow for no apparent reason.

I deleted the driver downloaded several times and re-uploaded to start from scratch, but get the message "Fatal error during installation."  I used HP correction for this, did everything it says and ran the download as an administrator.  When the "USB connection" screen, I connect the USB as requested, and I hear my computer accepts this connection.   But the HP installer does not accept or acknowledge inserting the USB key.  It hangs at that time here, and keeps installation disc FOREVER chasing the USB connect screen.

When I open the HP Solution Center, he informs me that he cannot work because the download of device is not complete.

There is no file 'help' in the menu 'start '.

I'm running out of ideas on how to make my printer work properly with the new Windows 7 system.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

In the case where you hear the ding that the USB cable is connected and that the software does not recognize it, it means that at any given time you connected to the computer via the USB port before running the software. When you do so, Windows takes over and tries to install their own drivers. That causes problems later, when you try to use the software, as it will then not connect when you use the USB cable.

In this case, you must connect via the usb port and go into Device Manager and remove everything related to your printer. After you do this, unplug the USB cable and restart your computer. When starting BACK, run the software FIRST and then when he asks the USB cord this time, it should recognize the connection.

  • Windows 7 64 bit + IE10 only = no pdf in HTML help

    What happens on Windows 7 64 bit + IE10.

It does not produce on Windows 7 32 bit + IE10.

It does not work on Windows 7 64 bit + IE9 or IE8.

    Is there a solution?

Too, I have encountered this problem and found the solution for it.

Add the following attribute to your PDF hyperlinks in the html code: target = "_blank"

This attribute is used on Web pages to load the browser to open a new window/tab to display the link in, rather than load them into the current window/tab. In the HtmlHelp Viewer, this causes the external PDF Viewer (Adobe Reader) to start and open the PDF file that is specified in the link. This allows you to work around not being able to display PDF files in the frame in HtmlHelp Viewer on 64 bit systems (as described by the http://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12508 post)

    Example:

Before: click here to view the PDF document

After: click here to view the PDF document

  • Windows 7 32 bit does not recognize 4 GB of RAM

I just bought a new w500 with windows 7 32-bit and 4 GB of RAM, I know that windows 7 32 bit must be able to work with 4 GB of RAM, but when I check the Windows System Control Panel 7, he said: installed memory 4 GB, usable memory 2.46).

When I check my setting of the video adapter it says 512 MB dedicated memory and 1024 MB shared memory.

I don't really know what to do, I don't know I used the 4 GB ram with windows Vista Ultimate before and it was OK.

He was everything to solve this problem? Do I have to install a 64-bit version of my windows 7 pro?

If I is there a way I can install it with the serial number supplied with my laptop, so I don't have to buy a new version of windows, I've just will download and install a 64-bit version of windows 7.

-Besides, I'm not 100% sure, but when I got the laptop, on the Panel of the system, he showed that he uses all the 4 GB of ram, after 1 day of use and when all Thinkpad and microsoft drivers updates have been installed, what happened.

now, just please help me and tell me what I need to do?

You probably need to transfer activation with something like ABR unless the key works for both versions now. Retail Vista keys worked for 32 and 64 bit version but haven't Lenovos OEM key.

Regarding your 2.46 GB of ram - I the only thing that indicate is that Windows is telling you the truth its time. There is no way any 32-bit system can use full 4 GB. Information system in Vista have generally shown only to installed RAM without showing the usable memory. They fixed in Windows 7, and now, he can tell you the exact amount can be used. But that doesn't change anything but your taking of consciousness of the fact.

Oh and when I was using Vista 32 it showed the / 3 gb in a first time and then went down to 2.46 I was installing graphic drivers. Switchable graphics driver supposedly did this and some users have reported that uninstalling / installing different drivers, but I prefer to install windows 64-bit for peace of mind.

    Hello world!

I use Ideapad Z460. Chipset: Core i3 M380, 2 gig of ram. I use windows 7 x 86 (32 bit). Should I upgrade to the 64 bit version of windows 7? And my computer runs faster after the upgrade?

Already, I have installed windows 7 64-bit. It works very well. Specifically, I think it's really faster when I install applications. I use as a 4 GB USB DRIVE for readyboost.

  • Windows 7 64 bit using 3 GB of 8 GB RAM when idle.

I've noticed recently that Windows 7 64 bit using 3 GB of RAM slowed.  When I start first of all, the use of the RAM is about 1.2 GB or more.  However, after that my computer has been for some time, that number slips slowly up to 3 GB without me all other running programs.  I thought it could be virus/spyware/malware, so I formatted and did a new install.  The same day as the new installation, I noticed the same behavior.

Is this normal?  Windows 7 is recommended to use 3GB 8 GB inactive?

Thanks in advance for any help!

My issue was not with Windows 7 using large amounts of RAM "at random".  The question I saw consisted of RAM usage to leave about 1 GB and slowly creeping up to 3 GB and stay there until I rebooted.

Through several days of trail and error, I found the problem.  In general, I use a download manager to download files (free download manager, FDM).  There is apparently a problem with FDM and Windows 7 I have observed that the question of the RAM with FDM run and I have yet to observe with FDM, no matter what I do.  Either way, I used this same version of FDM Windows XP and never had any problems with the use of the RAM.  Therefore, I'm not sure if it's a FDM problem or a problem with running on Windows 7 FDM (although my experience with FDM and XP leads me to believe that there is a problem with FDM running on Windows 7).
Without FDM running Windows 7 RAM use is between 880 MB and 1.5 GB.  Everyone know the RAM on this amount use likely has several processes that run in the background as Windows 7, when idle, should never require more than that.

    Dear all

I just brought a new Toshiba Satellite A660 - 17 M in Egypt and I installed windows 7 32-bit on it to support my company work, but I could find the drivers for it on the website and many material options does not specially the extra package, please help me!
is it possible that I can install it or fix it?

    Hey Buddy,

The problem is that most of the new laptops don't support windows 7 64 bit because they come with 4 GB or more RAM capacity and 32-bit support only up to 3.2 GB.

I think you should search the drivers yourself. Just check out some similar Toshiba models, they support Windows 7 32 bit. As much as I know Satellite L500 provides 32-bit drivers Windows 7 and tools where you can also get value-added package for example.

If you find all the drivers of the comments would be great. :)
