The only resolution I can find is to uninstall SP3. Then works fine. Anyone got any ideas? Let me know if you need more information.

  • Why Windows backup will not work on a network share?

I am running Vista Home Premium and have a drive WD MyBookWorld NAS on a MS LAN.  OneCare used to do all my backups, never had any problem, but OneCare is no more.  I also have a NAS Iomega 2 TB hard drive and the problem is exactly the same for that too - XP and 7 can save on it, Vista can not.

Windows backup works very well for readers SIN of my XP and 7 machines, but both the Vista, those who refuse.  I can drag and drop files from Vista to NAS, it's just the backup center who is the problem.  When I select the NAS drive for the backup on, he asks a user name and password.  My login to the Vista machine id does not work, and the administrator to the NAS password does not work.  The procedure fails with the 0x800706C6 message.  He refuses also backup on XP or 7 machines (with different messages).  He would be the backup on my other machine to Vista, but I do not have spare storage!
I have read articles countless and tried to turn on/off control of accounts and mapping changes the network drive, without success - the error message, but does not go far.

Help, please.  What should I do?

    Hello

Windows Home Premium backup can't backup on a network location.
So you will need to use an application of part 3. Professional, comprehensive and Enterprise edition
    backup to a network share.

You can share files and use the 3rd backup XP to do or use Acronis or other
    party utilities.

I prefer for the most of backup data and prefer to do it in a way that makes it easy to find
and to restore a file as well as many.

  • Configuration of WiFi in Windows XP Mode (installed in Windows 7 Ultimate edition)

    Hello! All the:

I use Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. I have used Windows 7 Ultimate using WiFi.
I also installed Windows XP Mode.  I am not able to install WiFi in Windows XP Mode.
Can you please let me know how to install WiFi in Windows XP Mode.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Shashi

You can configure Windows XP Mode to use the shared network (NAT) and there is no need to configure an additional WiFi network. In this context, the network which is connected to the host (Windows 7 Ultimate), is shared with Windows XP Mode.

Once Windows XP Mode is started (not available in full screen menu), go to Tools-> click settings. In the left pane, click Networking. Then in the right pane, next to 1 adapter: select network shared (NAT). Click Ok. Check if you are connected to the internet. If this isn't the case, restart Windows XP Mode and check.

  • Why the fast user switching and the new Windows Search use the Terminal Services?

Recently, I was struck by a piece of really bad, malicious malware that totally trashed my operating system.  Therefore, as I rebuild my system, I am applying the appropriate safety precautions.  Among the recommendations of Microsoft is to reduce your footprint of security by disabling unnecessary services.  One of these services that I thought I didn't need was Terminal Server services, since it is a way for a person to get to my machine remotely.

It turns out that, however, other services that I want to use, such as Fast user Switching and window new search utility, depend on the Terminal Server Services.  It makes no sense to me from a safety point of view.  This seems to be a bad design decision, because security trumps utility.

If Microsoft is listening, I would like to know why you made this decision and you have changed in Windows 7?

Second, is there a way to always have the Terminal services Server running and at the same time cut access remotely through this service?

I don't know about the 'new' Windows Search, but what about the fast user switching you ask to run several sessions of Windows when you switch between users (a session for each user connected) and the only way that Windows can do is to act as a quasi Terminal Server, it needs Terminal Server services to run multiple sessions.

  • Problems of Flash player v11 on Windows 2003 Terminal Server upgrade

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade of several Server Terminal Server to Windows 2003 32-bit, v5.2 IE Flash plugin version 11.1.102.63.  It did not work on the first two servers I tried, and later I concentrated my tests on one of them.  The version on the server before the upgrade attempt has been 10.3.181.14.

Whenever I try the upgrade, the executable initially runs, but then does nothing.  The running process is visible in the Task Manager, with no resources of treatment and about 18 MB of memory.  Unless I kill the process manually, it will sit like that indefinitely.  If I try the installation again, I get a message advising me that a single instance of the process can run.

I tried to reboot the server, I tried to install terminal server mode server running the installation, I tried to uninstall the previous version, I tried to reinstall the previous version (which works fine).  For some reason, this version will not work.

Any suggestions as to the next step would be very welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows Server 2003 (64-bit), Terminal Server has 2 mouse pointers when you connect via RDP

I recently reinstalled one of our Terminal Server Windows Server 2003 (64-bit) servers.
When you connect via RDP, I get 2 mouse pointers. One seems to be the pointer to the session that changes of hourglass, etc... and the pointer remains under the arrow.

I have all the updates that are installed.
There is no options on the RDP settings like what I use on other RDP to the other Terminal server sessions and is not on any other I RDP server on my client.

I connected as other RDP clients and get with the same problem, is not a customer number
Is there a setting on the server to disable this option?

How can I remove the pointer that does not change in the session?

We consider that you have Windows XP (sp3, preferably).  If you don't have XP, ignore the rest of the post and answer in determining which version of Windows you have, including service pack.

Exactly what happened when you tried the sc create command?  Please provide the full error message.

In the Services applet, what is the status of "DCOM Service Process Launcher"?

    Termsrv.dll is present in C:\Windows\system32?
    Perfts.dll is present in C:\Windows\system32?

Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Is a subkey named present TermService?  TermService should have 3 subkeys: Enum, settings and Performance.

The following is for Windows XP sp3.  Before editing the registry, it is a good idea to make a backup first.  Unless you do a system restore point.  Or use C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT.

If the TermService key and its subkeys are not present (but 2 dll above files are present) copy the material between the * in a Notepad window.  The 'Save as type' value 'All Files' and save the file as TS.reg.  Then right-click on the file and select Merge.
