Why won't my Vista 32 bit PC desk top start normally sleep as it allows?

After about a year and a half after the purchase of a Dell desktop PC, it leaves start after I have left on all night.  (hit enter or press the mouse)  Now, I have to stop it after each use.  Then click on the tour button it starts.  If I leave it on for a while then touch mouse or hit between.  A black page comes up with a blue light running with windows recovery passwords.  I have search the Internet and Yahoo answers and I still have this problem.  My PC is the 32-bit version home.

Hi Tawny1!

Thanks for posting your question in the Forums to answer Ms.

Consider the following scenario. You have a mouse of bus universal series (USB) connected to a Windows Vista-based computer. You move or you click the mouse as the computer is switch to sleep mode. Then, after the computer goes into sleep mode, you try to resume the computer with the mouse or press a key on the keyboard. In this scenario, the computer stops responding (hangs) at a black screen:

Just follow these instructions.

  1. Click Start Type device in the Search box, and then click Device Manager in the programs list.
  2. In the user account control dialog box, click continue .
  3. In Device Manager, expand mice and other pointing devices .
  4. Right-click the USB mouse, and then click Properties .
  5. Click the power management tab.
  6. Clear the allow this device to wake the computer check box, and then click OK .

Oh, you can try out of sleep now.

Hope it will help!

  • Windows Vista 32-bit is failing to start after the success of the recovery.

Hi all, my apologies if this has already been covered in another post, I checked but I'm new here so might have forgotten.

I have a HP Pavilion a6442a with Windows Vista 32-bit. A couple of weeks it froze, forcing me to maually shut down, and now it does not restart. It gets so far then goes to startup repair, which never seems to find no problem. I tried restoring the system (to several different restore points), conducted diagnostic tests, conducted tests of memory and hd and tried commissioning in all modes as I could: no problem can't find anywhere and I always had the same problem. Finally, I backed up my files and made a full recovery of the system. It said it completed successfully, I restarted to complete the installation of Windows, it gets "Please wait a moment while Windows starts for the first time... "freezes, restarts and then traced directly back to the start screen for repair.

I am at a loss, I've done everything I can think. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello:

Have you added any hardware configuration inventory (other than replace the hard disk or add memory)?

Do you have only the mouse, keyboard and screen plugged in when you ran the recovery procedure?

If the answer to question 1, remove any material that you have installed that do not come with the PC and try to recover again.

If the PC is recovering successfully, close and reinstall your spare hardware.

If not, question 2, unplug anything other than the mouse, the keyboard and the monitor and try to recover again.

If you continue to be confused and you can read all 25 characters of the product key of Vista on your PC case, you can make your own Vista installation media.

It will be just a simple installation of Vista and no software other than the operating system will be included.

You can install the drivers and software available to support for your PC and driver page.

  • Why do you have Vista 32 bit my native resolution of 1680 x 1050, but 64-bit Vista is not?

I was already running 32 bit Vista Home Basic and I've now changed to 64-bit Home Premium and for some reason that I have more my 1680 x 1050 Native resolution monitors in the list of available resolutions.

    The closest available resolutions are 1600 x 900 and 1600 x 1024.

Obviously it's not a lot of good because anything other than of the native looks horrible!

I have the option in the NVidia Control Panel to create custom resolutions, which do not seem to work in windows is.  I added 1680 x 1050 and set it as my resolution.  Now the problem I have is that the games aren't my resolution custom in their choice of resolutions in the graphics options, so I can't play in 1680 x 1050 the closest choice is the resolutions that I mentioned earlier, which means that the quality of the image in the games is horrible!

I do not understand why I now have a problem when 32-bit Vista everything was fine, it's the same graphics driver as before only the 64-bit version.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    No problem.

However, this problem is solved now fortunately.  I did some research on Google more and came across this article about Windows 7 users with simillar problems with drivers of the generic Non - PNP monitor and lack of resolutions:

    http://www.TomsHardware.com/Forum/652-63-window-monitor-1680x1050-1920x1080-resolution-here

The advice it worked a treat, I downloaded PowerStrip (http://downloads.guru3d.com/PowerStrip-3.75-download-169.html#download ),

I uninstalled all drivers GPU rebooted my computer, and then use Powerstrip I created my own .inf driver using the correct resolution of 1680 x 1050 Max, registered the and that installed my driver of monitors.

Reinstalled my drivers, GPU, rebooted and it instantly recognized my Native 1680 x 1050 and set it to one at the start.  And when I run all the games, the resolution is in the list!

    I am so happy.

  • Windows XP 32-bit, Vista 64-bit

How can I switch my WinXP 32-bit to 64-bit Vista?  The Vista upgrade package that I bought came with 2 DVDs (32 and 64 bit).  Vista 64-bit DVD does not start on my Win XP 32 and primer alone.

    Hi LaForest,

You will not be able to access the Windows vista 64-bit DVD that the problem occurs because the Windows operating system upgrades are supported only between matching operating system architectures. A 32-bit version of Windows XP does not recognize the engine to install Windows Vista 64-bit.

You will not be able to upgrade to the 32-bit operating systems for 64-bit operating systems refer the below Microsoft article to know how to install Windows vista 64-bit on the computer

  • Vista 64 bit won't in mode 'sleep'

    Hi all

Just bought a new desktop with Vista 64 bit computer.  He won't go in mode 'sleep' and is therefore always on.  I tried to contact dell technical support and they said it was a problem of Microsoft/Vista about the transformers containing more than 6 GB of RAM.

How do I get this resolved?

    Hello RobertVP,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum.  The question that Dell was referring to involves hibernation, a deeper form of sleep.  Please read this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base that explains the issue and a work around:

    Hi Patricia,

Usually if there is a problem with the Sql server server there may be damage to the .netframework. Try to run this tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx , and then try again to update the system again.

Why can´t I do my AGFA SNAPSCAN 1212U scanner working properly, my windows vista 32 bit, when it say installation was done correctly and ready for use. ! ?

    Hi Søren benaceur

You have compatible installed the drivers for the scanner working properly?

There don't seem to be compatible drivers available for the scanner to work with windows vista. I suggest you try to install drivers available for windows XP in compatibility mode on Windows Vista and verification.

    http://static.Agfa.com/digicam_scanner_drivers/scanner/snapscan_1212u/index.html

So to work around the problem, try to install the drivers for Windows XP in Windows Vista compatibility mode and check if you are able to solve the problem. Compatibility mode may or may not work depending on the specifications of the device.
Compatibility mode is used if a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work properly. Then, you can use the program compatibility Wizard to change the compatibility of the program settings. To manually change the settings of a program, use the individual program's compatibility tab

You can check the link for assistance on compatibility mode - mentioned below
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If the problem persists while you can contact the manufacturer for assistance without a driver, the device may not work properly. Also, pilots can only be provided by the manufacturer of the device.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP OfficeJet 7310 won't let me install... says I need to be an administrator on Vista 64-bit

I have HP OfficeJet 7310 and I am installing for the first time.  I have Vista 64 bit and when I go to install it, I get an error that says... "Log then with a user with administrator privileges.

I do not understand, I am the administrator... I tried to turn off work... didn't thing ULC.  I tried to do a clean boot... didn't work. I am at a loss can someone help me please.  I use Kaspersky... but I don't think that is the question.

I am a real user of 7310 on Vista 64 bit and can vouch for the suggestion of driver download.  The software installation process is quite different from that performed from Windows XP (thank God) and goes a lot faster.  Certainly turn off your antivirus software during the process because it's intensive file.

Marilyn link aren't going to the right place.  I got mine from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=391182

Here's my big tip for you that you can save a lot of stress.  You will see that if you never put your system into standby mode, the stock in network drivers to print frequently and permanently disappear and you need to uninstall/reinstall.  Happened to me for weeks and finally I saw an announcement somewhere however it is resolved if you install also "critical update to enhance reliability of network and USB connectivity and improve system responsiveness while printing" in the same place.  His description, he said "corrects a problem that causes the network connected printer to disappear from the system.  For some inexplicable reason this month of April, update has not been deployed in September driver version.  I installed and have not had a problem since.

    Good luck!

    HI BUD85

Contrary to what said 'DaGreenOne' on 'thread lock', I can assure you that we will not do.
We strive to help you with this problem.  However, I kind of sharing what he or she said several suggestions have been posted but nothing is your problem.  There was some good suggestions posted here.

It's frustrating, I know.  Question: If you put the 'original' of return RAM in the system and restore the system back to how it was when you bought, 1st you get the experience index you originally?  This is assuming that you are ready to perform a system recovery which erases the hard drive clean and make it the way it was when manufacturing built the machine.

Please confirm you "not" mix the different types of RAM in the computer, which means that you put in two sticks of 6400 and two sticks of 5300 (these numbers used for example)
