Wi - Fi on Satellite L655 with Win8
Hello
I use a Satellite L655-12 q, model number short PSK1EE. It works on windows 7 x 64.
I have recently upgraded to windows 8 and noticed that the WiFi no longer works. Also flash cards do not appear when I press the Fn key.
I reinstall the drivers, but nothing seems not to work.
Please help if you can.
WIN8 support is not yet started. In the meantime, you can try to use the Win7 drivers in the hope that they will work.
For Flash cards, you can try to reinstall Toshiba PPVS but I don t know if this will help.
New drivers to support official Win8 at startup Toshiba, tools and Utilities version will be available for regular download.

Device Intel WLan 6230 USB not recognized in Satellite L655 running Win8
I installed the Intel Centrino card 6230 WLAN for laptop Toshiba Satellite L655 of my wife (introduced to my HP laptop, but due to their allow list, it does not start... but it's another story).
Wifi works a treat, and I'm pulling in a little more speed of 100 mb/s (http://www.speedtest.net/result/2328501761.png) to connect to my router dual band 5 GHz.
I understand this card features also the Bluetooth capabilities and I think that is where my problem comes from.
I get a warning balloon will appear in the system tray saying "Device not recognized USB" (http://imageshack.us/f/208/intel62301.jpg/).
I followed various supposed fixes, including the removal of the drivers, as you can see from the photo I've already done. As I'm under Windows 8 Pro 64 bit as soon as I restart the WLAN driver is automatically re-established.
I tried to install the drivers several times, but I always get the error message as below: -.
http://ImageShack.us/f/41/intel62302.jpg/
http://ImageShack.us/f/822/intel62303.jpg/I'm looking for one of the 2 solutions.
1. get the device working properly - Bluetooth & Wifi - there Toshiba never do drivers for the 6230?
2 disable the ToolTip of the USB, I can do this as a stop, but as soon as I reboot it is back bothers me!Any help is appreciated with gratitude.
Hello
I m bit confused.
Your problem is the message: saying 'USB device not recognized '.
Right? Why do you as his associates to the new wireless network card?
I checked the screenshot you posted above and card WLan (Intel Centrino Advanced N 6230) appears in Device Manager then its recognized by Win 8, thusOn BT taken in charge by the Intel card.
I found this software IntelĀ® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth for Windows 7

Normally it should work with Win 8 too.

Re: Problem with DVD in Satellite L655
I recently bought a Satellite L655 with windows7 operating system. When I insert a DVD, it is not recognized as a DVD, but rather a CD... and also not autoplayed for this reason.
I checked device drivers and it is not "yellow flag" and seems ok... but when I open 'my computer' icon, the optical drive is not listed in the removable drives like a DVD - RW, but rather 'CD Driver' label exists. I thought that the DVD drive driver is not installed and tried to find a driver for DVD RW but could not find. Then I removed the CD driver device drivers, restart the system and a CD driver is automatically installed immediately. but still no DVD is recognized.
Toshiba Tempro program don't recommend any missing driver. What should I do?
Thanks for the comments and useful links.

Satellite L655 - recover Toshiba Recovery option
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite L655 with Windows Home Premium 64-bit. I recently had problems with my operating system. Unfortunately, I didn't know about HARD drive recovery option, so I just reinstalled an OS with Windows 7 installation CD (I have a).
Now I know about HARD drive recovery and I would get my system to it's State of origin "Toshiba", but there is nothing "Toshiba HDD recovery" more in the recovery menu (F8 at startup)
I still have the folder HDDRecovery on my drive D:\ with od 7.5 GB data. But how can I get it back? What should I install to have the "Toshiba Recovery" point back again in the recovery environment?
Thank you
IvanHey Buddy,
The Toshiba HDD Recovery feature is available on the preinstalled operating system. If you have installed another version he s not available anymore.
So in your case, you have the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. Did you create the Toshiba Recovery disk before installing Windows 7?
Usually this can be done with the box settings because the Toshiba recovery media creator is preinstalled. This means that you need some blank discs to create the recovery disk.If you don t have the recovery disc, you can order a new by clicking here:

Satellite L655: Problem transfer photo files from DVD - rom
Recently bought a Satellite L655 with Win 7 and Mat * a BD - Rom drive.
A friend copied a bunch of pictures on a DVD disc.I'm unable to access these photos on the laptop (the disc appears empty), but I am able to see very well from my PC running Windows Vista.
I am at a complete loss as to what could be the problem here, and would appreciate any help to solve this.
Hello
In my opinion the disc can be read correctly perhaps due to the incompatibility between the disc and the ODD.
try to copy this disc in another drive (DVD) from another manufacturer that has been tested successfully in the past that I had similar problem with my CD/DVD drive in the past
I tried different discs from different manufacturers and finally I made good experiences with TDK DVD-R and CD - R discs
Not sure if this drive would also be ok for you, but I think it's worth a check! -
Satellite L655 - not accessible by webcam software
I have a new Satellite L655 with win7 64 bit OS.
My webcam is suddenly is no longer accessible by a number of software (Skype and similar). No idea how I can find out if it is a software or hardware problem (if the webcam is fried for some reason, or if something was wrong with his driver)?
Thank you!
Hello
Able to use the webcam, you run the software of webcam Toshiba?
If so, then the material of the webcam is ok
As a general rule I don t believe that this problem could be related to a hardware problem.
I think that the problem of software. Maybe different applications try to access the webcam at the same time, maybe it s locked by another applicationHave you tried to reinstall the webcam driver software?
If this is not the case, to do this.
First uninstall the software. Reboot the laptop.
Then download the new version of the European driver Toshiba page and install this.Maybe it helps.

Drive external HARD is compatible with eSata on Satellite L655-158
Hello
I buy a L655-158 this weekend, I also intend to buy a Seagate external hard drive that fits the eSata using something like that: -.
"Times that are up to six times faster than with USB 2.0 powered Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Upgrade Cable of eSATA transfer is designed to keep pace with you, to offer you!
With the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Powered eSATA upgrade Cable you can easily and inexpensively switch interface GoFlex and GoFlex Pro Ultra-Portable from your hard drive at speeds ultra-fast eSATA.
The FreeAgent GoFlex Powered eSATA upgrade Cable works with any port powered eSATA/USB combo, and is compatible with the ultraportable GoFlex and GoFlex Pro drives. Please note that it is not compatible with standard eSATA ports, not powered.
Take the time to transfer upward with the FreeAgent GoFlex Powered eSATA Cable upgrade to Seagate.
General information
GoFlex connectors for eSATA/USB combo port
Other compatible with ultraportable GoFlex and GoFlex Pro readers. "So, my question is the compatible adapter with eSata on the L655-158 port, is the powered port or not? If this is not the case, what are external drives others who enjoy the ease of eSata, and well what they are doing?
Thanks in advance,
Concerning
Kevin
Hello
> So my question is the compatible adapter with the port eSata on the L655-158
There are just sort of eSATA port. If the external HARD disk supports eSATA interface so I guess you can connect this external HARD disk to the port eSATA to the Satellite L655-158 -
Problem with sound on my new Satellite L655-1FO
Hello
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L655-1FO before 5 days, I have install all the driver on XP one my sound work ok, but today I connect my headset and I didn t hear sounds like the music, just a few scratches sound and when I disconnect my helmet, there is no more sound from my PC.
I restarted but the problem remains. What's happen with my pc, is it broken?
I need to know because I have 7 days to save it and get new ones or get in touch with the service?Thank you
You must understand that no one here can say with certainty whether or not something is broken. We just speculate what may be the problem.
I recommend you to install Windows XP Home edition once more to see if this problem will be solved. Otherwise, contact your local dealer and ask for replacement.
In the headphone port, there is little switch that turn off internal speakers when external speakers are connected. Maybe this switch stuck somehow. Who knows?

Satellite L655-149: recovery does not work with the new HARD drive
Satellite L655-149
PSK1JE
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (factory installed)
Recovery of HARD drive on drive D (factory installed)
My old toshiba (MK5065GSX) 500 GB hard drive became too noisy and slow so I plan to replace it with the new drive hard toshiba (MK5059GSXP) 500 GB.
I created USB Flash HARD drive recovery.
When the installation is complete and Setup installs devices an error "Windows Setup couldn't configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer.I've updated the bios
I loaded by default in the bios
I changed the SATA AHCI mode to compatibility IDLEassistance in this regard will be highly appreciated
Set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.
With the installation of recovery, there is a problem: either it works or not. If this isn't the case, bad luck and the only solution for you is to order original Toshiba recovery DVD on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
By the way: do you use that stick of recovery for the first time?
