  There is no reason that you shouldn't keep Windows 7.  I simply tell you that the wireless network device to your 4 year old laptop could be at fault.  AND, I've seen a lot of cell phones like that and discovered that a purchase of $20 can solve the problem completely and most often gives a better wireless reception that one actually built anyway.

  There are probably a lot of measures to take in case of a problem, but you can spend days trying to find them in the same place (installation of a wireless USB device) in any case.  The device also offers the advantage of being portable to other computers.

  There are a few problems with this wifi adapter that Intel strives to difficulty.  They have recently published an updated for her driver.  Can you try to install the updated driver and see if it solves your problem?

  I updated my drivers Lenovo has kindly put on their download site for (downloaded via my smartphone) 8.1 Windows Update but I still have the same problem. I've scoured the web for solutions, I made cmd, uninstall the drivers in safe mode... nothing works!

  I fixed mine! What a relief.

  I have Lenovo G580, who has the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter.

  At the point where I had problems (do not already know) Windows has been configured to use the Microsoft driver for this device.

  Following the advice to look at older drivers, I have found a Broadcom provided on my computer and updated driver to use. Immediately, a WiFi connected, and all seems well.

  Here are the instructions:

  # Open the Device Manager (search Windows help if you don't know what it is)

  # Select "Network adapters", and open (double-click) Broadcom 802.11n network adapter

  Pilot # go to the tab and click the update driver... button

  # Select 'Browse my computer for driver software ".

  # Select 'Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

  # Select the entry "Broadcom 802.11n network adapter (Broadcom)" from the list and click Next

  Well, it worked for me.

  I have a Hp laptop 8 64-bit windows. When uninstalling programs, I accidently deleted the wireless card for my laptop. I downloaded Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter, but can not run the installation wizard. Troubleshooting the message "Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter knows driver or hardware related problems. I tried to update the driver but it says device is up to date.

  pls help

  (1) uninstall the driver from Device Manager (be sure to verify the removal of the option of pilot)

  (2) type "Recovery Manager" in the search and open it.

  (3) go to the drivers and Applications

  (4) install the driver in the list of drivers.

  (5) reboot the device

  (6) if it still does not download the BIOS from http://www.hp.com

  My Wifi connection says LIMITED connectivity. I've already complained about my problem on the HP support by phone. But I don't have any solution for my problem. Technician a driver wifi re-installed and the Bios but did not get any solution. Customer support sent me some links to update the driver but not got any solution again.
  I tried to install different versions of drivers for card Ralink WLAN ! Still without success!
  I am writing this post from my other laptop that my wifi router running on other devices!

  I also had this problem and corrected.

  To correct the problem of wifi... open charms bar... in the search window, type device manager in Device Manager... double click network adapters, right-click right on... Qualcom Atheros QCA 9565802.11b/g/n wifi adapter... right click and click on uninstall.

  A pop window should open asking you to confirm. Confirm by clicking on... Ok.

  After that, restart your laptop.

  Your wifi should be visible in the networks. You can then connect to your network of your choice.

My adapter (ralink rt3290) wireless worked fine out of the box for some time now, but all of a sudden I feel a drop of signal strength on the 2nd level of my house.   -J' fiddled with several revisions of driver without end I had similar problems with a card atheros on a Toshiba laptop that has been repaired with a 3rd driver. Currently, I'm on the latest driver 5.025 and fiddled with the settings of wireless network without success. I'll try to run a windows update to see if that fixes the problem.

  -J' opened compartments accessible user on the bottom of my computer (and nothing else) and made sure the antennas are well seated in the card, no luck. Fortunately, I did affect all the components in the process

  -I did not fell, spilled something or manhandled this laptop since I bought it.

  Everybody don't think that the network card is defective, at this point?   OK, I was using the default windows driver and while my connection is always to 2 bars, my connection has been constant and school drop-outs were not held. So far, it has been difficult to my problem as the ralink drivers seem to cause more problems than they fix. If my connection is still not great... it's there, and so far it works great. I'll check with this topic to see if I put a permanent end to my problem...

The latest drivers from the HP website for windows 8 pro and windows 8.1 pro 64-bit drivers ralink rt3290 and lan realtek PCIe FE Family Controller appear limited in my laptop, but in the same laptop connectivity when I start in Windows Server 2008 R2, both LAN and wifi works very well.

  Are there drivers available updated 2013 for these two hardware devices as dated?

  Are there universal or generic drivers that can act as a workaround?

  I came across similar issues where the driver manually enabled users to solve the problem. Uninstall the current network adapter drivers and manually install drivers that you previously downloaded.

  a. press Windows key + R key, type devmgmt.msc, hit the Enter key to open the Device Manager.

  b. expand network adapters, right-click on the listed network adapter and select Update driver software.

  c. click Browse my computer for driver software, click Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computerand then click on disk.

  d. in the dialog box to install from the disc, click Browse, locate the drivers, and then click Open.

  e. follow the steps described in the DeviceName update driver software dialog box to update the driver.

  Try these steps and let us know the results.

• HP Envy 15 with Ralink RT3290 loses wireless n If windows updates 8

  I have a HP Envy 15-j040eo that has worked well until about two weeks ago, but there is no longer recognized my wireless-n. At this time, I win 8.1 64 bit with automatic updates. Other computers and iPhones is always recognized my wifi.

  After spending hours and days with the support of HP, we finally did a complete reset of the computer. Now I have Windows 8 with the works of disabled and wireless-n updates very well until I allow windows to date. If windows is allowed to update the computer does nor recognize the network. With other networks - n or with cable it works fine. The only way that the HP Support and I found get wifi work is to reset the computer. If I only update the wifi still doesn't work.

  The wireless adapter is a Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn and it works with the driver 5.0.25.0 on windows 8. When I had first of all the question I tried to update driver V5.0.46.0 but he still has not found the wifi-n in windows 8.1.

  BIOS is updated to the latest version and even if I turn auto updates of the network was cut when the upgrade of Windows 8 to 8.1 but on Windows 8 it works until I decide not to update the wireless adapter driver.

  As I'd rather have 8.1 and updated windows up-to-date with automatic updates; How can I configure to always work with wireless-n?

  I understand that you have problems with your card wireless after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I'll be happy to help you with that. One of the things is recommended when upgrading is deleting or disabling all USB devices one thing that many people do not know is that the wireless card uses an internal USB connection. So, before you upgrade either your device manager under network adapters find Ralink RT3290 wireless adapter. Then right click and select Disable. With the wireless you will need to connect via Ethernet temporarily. Once the update is completed, activate the card and install this driver Ralink RT3290. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.

  I use Satellite NB10 Pro with version 1.20 of the BIOS and windows 64-bit of 8.1. I have trouble with several times the limited wifi connection. When I remove the driver and reinstall it, it works again. Pilot already updated, but keeps same problem. Tried several Satellite Pro NB10 same problem. Any suggestions?

  For most of the WLan connectivity issues are related to the IP attribute the problems.
  Usually the IP address is assigned automatically using DHCP service.

  In case this question would appear once again, you can try to refresh the IP address.
  Start the console (black DOS window) using the command: CMD (type CMD in search)
  Then use the command: ipconfig / renew

  If this question would never happen again, I recommend you to reset the WLan router.

• RALink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter detects no wifi

  I use HP PAVILION 15-E015TX. I have reset my windows 8 OS recently due to a corruption of the data. After the reset of the operating system, everything is reinstalled to its original state.   • Have you tried installing the driver from the Web page of your computer?
