  I have a similar machine and everything works perfectly. Please check the F12 key. I think he must have the symbol WLAN, right. When you press it and get flight mode on message on the upper left corner of your wireless network card is disabled.   Afteer upgrade to Win 8, the WiFi of my Satellite L670-128 has stopped working properly.
