WiFi slow Alternative?

I have a question about the speed of OS X on a MacBook Pro 15"

I am running 10.10.5

Cross checking the material with the used Apple seller I find the map Wi - Fi is only capable of 1.5 megabits per second (Yes mega bits, not bytes)

You are looking for an alternative to wi - fi.  Is there a dongle or something I can use for this slow Wi - Fi?  I can easily use Terminal to change the values of network to use the new card, but don't know (yet) to be used.

At this slow speed the MacBook Pro decides he has control available networks once every three seconds.  In addition, no matter what starting an application, login, password, etc.. REQUIRES the MacBook Pro to send messages back on slow Wi - Fi.  Since it is 'Standard Apple' Apple will explain themselves in detail, only "that meets the standards of Apple."  No one will say what are the standards of Apple, but it conforms to standards.

Can you provide a link to where it shows the MacBook wifi is this slow?

You have a right speed if you connect via Ethernet to the same network?

When connected via wifi press post a screenshot of the window that opens when you press on and hold down the Option key and click on the wifi icon in the Menu bar

  • Connection WiFi slow and uneven

My current WiFi set up includes an AT@T U-Verse, with disabled WiFi router, which is connected by a cable ethernet to an older Apple Airport Extreme, it seems AC 802.11. Both are located side by side in a Home Office. I also have an Airport Express, located in another room to boost the signal in other parts of my house and to my outdoor patio. This configuration was working fine until recently when the AT & T router has stopped working. He was replaced a new U-Verse router. Now, my signal is weak, slow and uneven in other areas of my house and on my patio. I reset my Apple Airport Extreme and Apple Express and the situation has not improved. I am at a loss to understand why this Setup no longer works. I called AT & T and they found that the Firmware has not been downloaded correctly to the new router, and it was an improvement has been corrected, but not much. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any time that you change your network hardware, it's always a good idea to perform a complete power recycling of your material.

Check out the following user tip for more details. Please post back your results.

If the performance does not reappear after that, we will have to start all over again with the U-Verse router and add the base stations of the airport in one at a time. It would be useful that you can provide the model number of the U-Verse router and model numbers of each of the base stations you will use in your network configuration.

My laptop has a speed slow wifi, about half, on the same condition of wifi. If I click on properties of links, it shows 54 Mbps instead of 72.

When was new, with no updates of widows, the speed was of 72 Mbps, about 50 M dowload, 40 M download the Speedtest site.
Is the windows problem or an adapter?

  • WiFi slow/unresponsive since El Capitan 10.11.3

Wireless is extremely slow since the update to El Capitan 10.11.3.  MacBook Pro mid-2014.  I can plug adapter ethernet thunderbolt and internet speeds are excellent.  Wireless was large with El Capitan 10.11.2, just updated to 10.11.3 this morning and have had trouble with the radio since.  I also had problems wireless with Yosemite.  Mobile phone, computer laptop windows, parallels installs windows 7 & 10 on macbook all the great work on the wifi network.  Anyone have any suggestions to improve the speeds wireless?  It's simply not in safari, all browsers (chrome and firefox), other applications such as spotify and cards as well.  I am very tech savvy and have tried all the bases... to restart the router, remove wifi network/add new, change dns, clear dns servers, files temporary claire safari, etc..

Please start in recovery mode. In the OS X Utilities screen, select get online help. It will launch a clean copy of Safari. Some plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in recovery, you do not have access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so take note of those who before, if they are required for the test.

Test. After testing, restart as usual and display the results.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p253nu: HP Pavilion 15-p253nu WiFi slow speed

    Hello

I bought this laptop HP Pavilion p253nu 15 last month and after discussion here - finally found drivers for W7x64. everything is OK, but when I download something big, I see that the maximum download speed is around 30mbps with WiFi. I use the router TP-Link TL-WR941ND and my ISP gives me a speed of 100 Mbit/s via an optical connection. Before this laptop, I used an Intel 5100 WiFi chip and it has no problems - maximum download speed was about 90-95 Mbps (used Speedtest.net and real download a torrent). My girlfriend is connected through a router to the same UTP cable and the speed is the same - 90 - 95 Mbps.

The question is: why is the maximum speed of this chip BCM43142 so slow? And is it possible to change it? I think for the replacement with a 802.11ac Broadcom chip...

Okay, I bought Linksys WRT1900AC + 7260AC from Intel, but the problem was not resolved. Finally I found antenna internal for laptop HP, just stuck on the bottom plastic (there are little space), connected to the wifi chip and everything was OK.

So, I think that the manufacturer HP should check this problem, because it is very uncomfortable to have slow wifi speed due to the single internal wifi antenna...

  • iOS 10.0.1 WiFi slow problem

    Dear concern,

I use iPhone 5s and recently I updated my OS and got iOS 10.0.1. But I feel slower speed Wi - Fi and my applications doesn't work does not correctly. My other device (laptop and other smart phone) running smoothly as before.

Please provide your comments. Thank you... Adrian

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom.

    (1) restart you device. If a normal restart does not help, hold down these keys at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears: a) the sleep/wake button and the low Volume button (7 iPhone iPhone 7 and more) or b) the sleep/wake button and the Home button (all other models)

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth). Channels 1, 6 or 11 are recommended for 2.4 band.

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes. Try to restore as New first and test it. If ok try to restore the backup (the backup may be corrupted).

    (9) go to the Apple store for the evaluation of the material. The Wi - Fi chip or the antenna could be faulty.

  • Satellite L455D - How can I disable touchpad & WiFi slow

I just got this new laptop and I really NEED to disable the touchpad. It drives me crazy jumping everywhere when I type.

I tried Fn + F9 and it does not work. I looked in the control panel and I can uninstall the drivers, but can't turn it off. I like to use a mouse ball roll except when I'm traveling, so I don't want to uninstall the drivers. Is there a simple way to turn it off?

In addition, it seems to be EXTREMELY slow to access the internet with a Wi - Fi connection. Nothing is different with my internet connection or service except that cell phone provider is probably ten times slower than my old laptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I can't go back to Acer because the motherboard is dead or I would be.

    > Is there a simple way to turn it off?

Go to the Panel control-equipment and audio peripheral slot and printers, click the mouse, you will see the Touchpad settings windows. In this touchpad settings windows, go to the device settings and check, disable the external internal when pointing device usb pointing device is connected, press on, apply, and Ok.

    > I tried Fn + F9 and it does not work

Have you tried to update the vap utility and support of Flashcard on [European Toshiba driver Page | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] remove previous utility installed vap and reboot the laptop. Then, remove support for flashcard. and restart again. After that, install the Vap support and Visual support cards.

  • WiFi slow after patch Win7

Navigate to a web page or any other service that requires an internet connection (iTunes, upgrade the virus or other library) became a pain Royal deluxe since I upped my Satellite L500-12f from XP to Win7.

It takes for example at least 5-10 seconds to open google.com and 30 seconds to access the iTunes Store and, very often, the timeout of connections. The strange thing is that if I try to access a page with content streaming - say, a clip on youtube for example - it takes forever to get there, but once the connection is established, the data flow works fine (except if I try to jump to another part of the clip, which case it once again morphs in a vein of waiting).

I updated the driver for my card wireless (Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN) and any other driver I could find in Device Manager.

I also tried disabling the firewall (Comodo), antivirus (avast) and anti-spyware (SuperANTIspyware) all together, but I get the same results.

The router (Cisco EPC2425) works fine when I use it with my Android phone, so the problem may not be there. What I'm missing here? I'm oddly frustrated.

And what is with WLAN settings?
What WLAN standard do you use? A, G, N auto?
Try to define the standard G only on your router and the laptop and check the WLAN connectivity again.

  • WiFi (slow connection on 802.11ac) subjects with 10.11.3

My Macbook is connected to a router TP - Link Archer C7 on 802.11ac v02 (5 GHz). Sitting next to the router speed is between 800 and 900 Mbps.

First I had problems after wake her from her sleep. Speed has fallen to 7 Mbps. After toggling wifi turned off/lit, speed was normal.

Now, I've upgraded to 10.11.3. At the start speed is between 29 and 59 Mbps. sometimes it gets easier, but maximum is of 400 Mbps.

    I tried:

    -Reboot everything

    -Removed Wifi config/service

-Static IP, DNS, IP v04/v06, MTU

    -Various parameters of the router

    -/ Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration deleted

    -Reset the PRAM/SMC

    RSSI:-50dBm, noise:-83 dBm

If I boot in safe mode, all right. Normal speed to 900 MBit/s. No problem with sleep, etc., but only in safe mode!

    Any suggestions?

You may have installed a third-party application that claims to provide anti virus, protection, management, firewall, cleaning, etc. If so, uninstall these applications.

  • Satellite A665 - 13W WIFI slow when activated Bluetooth

I have hit a problem with WIFI performance and need help to find the solution.

I have Satellite A665-13W with wireless Broadcom 802.11n network adapter and use the latest BIOS and drivers (for Broadcom is version 5.60.48.35). The laptop connects to my router and can reach network high speed, but then long time ago when there is no flow of data over network connections. These shortcomings last several seconds and occure probably 3 times per minute. This makes services like Skype unusable because for a while, I have good network connection, allowing you to make a video call even but quality then connection drops less than 1 Mbps (in fact hold) so even audio is not working and call either disconnects or connection back to full speed for about 10 seconds until what the quality decreases again.

I tried different routers (802. 11 g, and 802.11n) and the problem persists. I tried to measure the performance of data transfer on LAN and found that the problem is not only related to my internet connection. I have tried other laptops and their connection works fine, so the problem lies in the Satellite A665-13W and its wireless adapter. In the end, I found that the problem is related to activated Bluetooth which is necessary for the connection of a wireless mouse.

If bluetooth is disabled the WIFI performance is good and there is no delay in the transfer of data.
If bluetooth is enabled (but no bluetooth device is connected or prominent) WIFI performance is severely degraded. Performance degradation is some expected when Bluetooth is used, but what is not acceptable, it is that no data shall not be transferred for a period of several seconds and even in the case where no bluetooth device is actually connected.

My other laptop (Asus, Lenovo) do not have such a problem and can transfer data via WIFI streaming even if the Bluetooth mouse is connected to them and used. So it's clear the Toshiba laptop to malfunction.

I tried to deactivate the energy saving network adapter wireless, but with no impact on performance.

Is there a newer driver that can solve the problem? I can't solve the problem of some network card settings? Network card can be replaced to solve the problem (for laptop is under warranty)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Best regards
    Jakub

    Hello

    > Is there a newer driver that can solve the problem?
Well, I can't say with certainty if the driver update should solve your problem, but I think that it s worth a try. You should try to update the driver WLAN and Bluetooth. You can find updates on the following pages:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Also define the power WLAN mode for each profile of saving power for maximum performance which is not power save.

Using the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or your own installation? If you use your own test of Windows with factory settings please. Just to make sure that it s not to deliver any software.

Not least have last but you installed a software/driver for this Bluetooth mouse?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hello

The explanation is simple. I'm sure that the memory stick is a USB 3.0, a plugged in a USB 3.0 port. The problem is that all USB 3.0 devices generate a 2.4 Ghz interference, as it generates interference on the frequency working on wireless. The solution is to connect the player to another port or to spend the 5 GHz wifi if your router supports. The wifi antenna is probably very close to the port and to the USB key.

This is known for a long time, and has nothing to do with the laptop.

There is an article on the Web page of intel who described the problem more technically. You can search if you wish.

This causes a problem also with a wireless mouse, if the receiver is connected next to a USB 3.0 stick or any other device.
