  Recently I upgraded my internet speed to 150Mbps. using my (model A1264) 1stGen Airport Express, I am only able to get 50Mbps to my office. My iMac is at short range with my router. My internet is slow speed b/c my Express is outdated? A new Express will allow me received the speeds I have upgraded to or is a desperate need? On the 2nd floor, there is an another desktop or home that connects to the internet regularly (teenage son online games).

  Dear guys, I installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop HP Pavilion G6 2241sa.

  Everything is perfect, I downloaded all the drivers, internet works fine BUT I noticed that the speed of my broadband a few minutes down from 80%. My broadband speed is 30meg to bottom/30 megs.

  Download speed is reduced to 2-3megs, but upload speed remains the same...

Internet high speed returns to normal, but after a few minutes or maybe 10 12 minutes speed drops back down, until the speed remains unchanged... I removed it 10 times, even tried to reinstall all the ralink drivers for win 8 or Win8.1, but Windows says I have the perfect driver and that it does not install anything else. I removed just in case antivirus, does not work. I checked the speed on the other computer - no problem there, but on my laptop it persists. On Windows 7, I didn't have this problem, it started after Win 8.1.   If you could please help me fix. Thank you very much. Lives

  OK, this is my last post on this topic because I think I solved the problem.

  I thought it was Windows 8.1 to blame, but I finally installed Windows 7. Internet was excellent, but after I installed all the latest drivers of the site Web of AMD (Amd catalyst, video driver, etc.), down speed was limited to 2 to 2.5 Mbps.

  I used the system restore and Internet working again. I decided to check again, and after that I installed again the pile of last softward to Amd, I had problem once again. Prolem is therefore up to the latest version of the AMD software. Do not know exacctly what part, perhaps things like AMD stream or similar. I also believe that this issue includes my modem that does not like to communicate with my computer that has these last things AMD.

  Anyway, thanks for reading. My internet gives me full speed and I am happy with that. I just create a system restore point before updating to new drivers from the site Web of AMD. It's easy to go back. A big thanks to everyone! Lives

• Internet high speed only is not what it should be

  I have ThinkPad R60e, with Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet adapter. I guess I've always had a problem with internet high speed, but I did my best to ignore it until now. Any plan the supplier announced, I've always had a tenth only speed, download and send. I used to blame it on them, but now I changed the provider and the problem persists. So I researched what other users with the same plan, and they become quite at announced rates. So I guess there must be something wrong with the settings. Advertising plan up to 2 Mbps download and 200 kbps upload. What I get on practice is maximum of 200 kbps download and on average 20 Kbps upwards. Help, please! It is most annoying.

  I forgot to add, I use Windows XP, the problem for most with Ethernet connection since I use it the most. But wireless seems to act in a similar way.

  How will you measure your network speed.  Any chance that your bandwidth meter reports bytes/sec instead of bps?

  I have a L50D-B Satellite now about 4 months, but both WAN and LAN internet connection speeds are terrible.

  I have a desktop on the same network, with a LAN 1000Mbps, but that speed up trials show to 50Mbps, card when I plug the LAN cable even in the laptop, it only happens to 3Mbps. (over WAN it happens about 5 Mbps).

  I downloaded the latest drivers, but no change.

  As I m wrong not the LAN RTL8106E card, which is integrated in the L50D-B Satellite supports Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX.

  By the way: in some cases, the 100Mbit option must be enabled in the BIOS.

• Airport Extreme 7,7,7 drop connection and internet high speed

  My Airport Extreme (6th generation) have had the serious problems of the internet, as said in the title I had problems with my internet connection, I checked if that was the problem of the modem to the beginning (D3.0 Ubee) which was provided by my Internet, Charter provider.

  I've had Airport Extreme for almost a year to 2 years now and since then, I had no problem with my internet until 7.7.7 update came.

  I updated my firmware and this is where my random internet connection problem started.

  My current contract with the Charter are their 60 Mbps (download speed) and 4 Mbps (download speed), during the first days since I've updated 7.7.7 connections was fine and then my internet has started to decline since a means 50-60 Mbps (download speed) to 0.1 - 2 mb/s (download speed), my download speed has remained a constant 3-4 MB/s (download speed). I have tried and used Opendns several times, he really did nothing.

  I tried to turn off both modem and Airport extreme for a couple of minutes and turn on their return, but he does nothing and just refers to an extremely slow speed.

  Unfortunately, the first question that you encountered is the AirPort for Windows utility has not been updated since Windows 7. In addition, it is not supported for use with the 802.11ac latest versions of airport base stations.   I picked up the WRT310N this last week and have experienced a very strange problem.  I noticed it when calling Comcast on slow speeds.  No problem service in my area, we crossed the restart cable Modem, router and my PC.  Everything was as quick as ever thereafter.  30 + Mbps versus 1 Mbit before any restart today.

  Today, I'm going to watch a video on YouTube, and it is choppy as hell.  I restarted the router via the config page and I went at a speed of 3 Mbps at 30 + Mbit again.

  He has more than 24 hours since I finally rebooted the router and it disappeared and has reduced my speed to a fraction of its potential.  How can I solve it without return and buy another brand?  It's a WRT310N v2 with the latest firmware.  I did a reset of all options before you configure it for my house.  I am confused... should I have all the options to solve the problem?

  I know it's a lot, but my old WRT54G v8 was able to handle it.  The modem is a Motorola SB6120 (DOCSIS 3.0).

  I got this router and this is a widespread problem. The sad reality is that this router is INCREDIBLY fast yet also completely been little reliable. Do yourself a favor and bring her back.

• RVS4000 & WRVS4400N Limited Internet high speed

  Two of these model units apear to be Internet max downlink speed of about 26 or 27Mbs. I tested with 10 different units in 3 different sites where the descending speed broadband provided is a complete 50Mbs, including in my own office. My normal router is a Cisco ASA5505 and I also connected a router Cisco 1840 and even an old Linksys router and all reach full 50MBs speed using a variety of speed test sites. The modem cable to my office and other sites have a gigabit LAN connection and RVS4000/WRVS4400N units must certainly be able to reach the speed of 50Mbs. I would be recognizing a Cisco rep, you meet this. If this problem cannot be resolved, my clients may want to move the unit to a different constructor, what I'll do.

  The IPS slow internet connection is not a bug. When you perform a speed test, speed test attaches invalid packets to generate traffic, which will report as a security issue as possible. When you perform a speedtest your computer downloads a binary file, and then use 4 wire http to saturate your connection. Speed samples are processed up to 30 times per second, then the speedtest on average in those together.

  With so much aggregated traffic, IPS does not know what do with it, out of what it is supposed to - watch traffic for anything malicious. This is also true for downloads, your normal web browsing don't usually have a noticeable effect. But a large download will be as all packages are inspected incoming and outgoing.
