  Cheap and good jovi...  That IS indeed a serious problem.    But at least the iPod still plays music, so its battery is OK.

  You use the USB cable supplied with 2nd gen iPod?  It is long with a cradle at the end of the shuffle.  The replacement of home cable shuffle Apple sells currently is to shuffle 3rd and 4th generation and does not work with 2nd gen shuffle (connector is different).

  There are third party replacement cables, but they must be described as 2nd gen shuffle.  And they tend to be cheap and of poor quality, then this might be the problem here.

  If you have the right type of cable, when you connect it to the USB of your computer, look at the little light the shuffle.  Blink initially when it is connected?  It turn on, but remain solid (not flashing)?  There is No light at all when connected?

  Also, are you using a Mac or a Windows PC?  If Windows, which free?

  I have a PALM TX, who bought in 2005. It worked fine but I changed my position and my last job stop supporting. That being said, I can use now and have recently it turned on and loaded schedule, etc. However, it does work when I plugged in the power cord. It works very well with the connection, no problems. That said, once disconnected from the power source it not light?

  I finished the soft reset several times. With reconnected to the power cord it works fine. However, it still not work with the power cord?

  I was reading online in various forums and it seems like it might be my power button?

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated that now I can use and really want to use it to its full capacity.

  The connections of welding of switch on the motherboard have been a little weak on the TX line.

  I m using the WinAmp instead of Windows Media Player and the CD/DVD button works with Winamp. I want to say I can run Winamp by pressing this button, but I can't use the game, break, buttons forward in WinAmp.
  I think that it is not possible also with ITunes I've never tested, but it seems that it s not configurable.

  Did you install the driver or just download it?  It must be installed.  There may also be other software that must be installed.   Is there (and I think it's the case), then right-click on the installation icon and click on run as administrator.  The fact that the system wants windows install to run suggests something is missing still to make synchronization of function - but I don't know what you were doing, so I don't know what to think.  It seems that some software is still missing (they list software on his support below page) or you need a version update of iTunes, or you have installed the software and driver for the wrong operating system, or.

  Here is the support page for the iPod64: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/.  If your answer is not there (and I couldn't find it), then try to contact them:http://www.apple.com/contact/ (you get a free incident within the 1st 90 days of purchase).  They should be able to help get the installer because they know that their products and programs better than we.  This looks more like a problem of configuration or software Apple as nothing to do with Vista.

  Yesterday, I had problems with the Myfitnesspal.comwebsite. I have a tab set to open automatically when I start the browser every day. I also tried all the steps of troubleshooting your site. I even made a full stop and start my computer. Nothing has solved this problem. I had the same problem with a couple of store that I like to go. The shop site work finally after more than six months of frustration. Myfitnesspal works on all other browsers. So with everything which has been tried and done, the problem seems to be your side somewhere. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.

  I used to have this problem with Firefox only for some time. I was frustrated beyond. MyFitnessPal is 100% compatible with Firefox, however, some extension (type of) can cause significant headaches. I hope that this fix also helps.

  Do you by chance the https everywhere extension installed? It's a great add-on and I strongly recommend using it, however, unless you "disable" its use with MyFitnessPal, you will not be able to connect to your account, add food, weight update, see graphics, etc..

  So don't panic. Your question is likely to be what I had as well. I just went in the https everywhere extension and where it says "MyFitnessPal" with a checkmark (saying it is ACTIVE for the site), I simply clicked to disable the add-on for a site.

  Simple and it works instantly. I hope it does for you too! If you do not have this add-on so it is probably related to some thing similar so good luck to you!

  I think you mis-read or misunderstood this message on Avast, Firefox can and neutralize only the Add-ons for Firefox caused incompatibility with newer versions of Firefox. It is not disable all of the antivirus application and good antivirus applications do not allow another program installed to turn them off. I'm sure that the message says that the add-on Avast WebRep would be disabled. Avast needs provide an add-on Rep Web site updated for Firefox 5.
