Will be Firefox, apparently like the Chrome, being constantly updated on the unsupported SSE2 computers?

Firefox is my browser of choice, but for purposes of design web, I also Google Chrome. I have however, like others, began to receive a message from Chrome claiming that soon my computer will no longer receive updated because its material is no longer supported. Like chrome, Firefox 28.0 - I - says a minimum CPU Pentium 4 or better requirement: Firefox has specified this good since I remember from 2011, but my old laptop, which I use for almost all my computer activities, including web design, uses a Pentium III Mobile and works perfectly well the Firefox. The specific concern chrome, however, which is now I see specified for Firefox 28.0, is a processor that supports SSE2: processor my laptop supports only SES (and MMX), but as I say it works perfectly well with FF28.0. So will be FF to end support for the computers of my harware (SES rather than SSE2 or better) specification?

I don't think that there is no difference in the feature set; It's just that without SSE2 performance suffers.

Others who are coming across this thread would know that SSE2 was introduced by Intel with the Pentium 4 in 2001. AMD said first it in 2003. The latest version of Windows does not work even without him.

In short, if you bought a computer in the last decade, its CPU supports probably SSE2. You can check by using the CPU - Z utility.

I was looking at the new version of Firefox and really don't like how it looks. If I update to it is there a way to make Firefox like the old? 3.6.24 is the version that I use now, and I like really what it looks like.

You see the button refresh (Reload) as an icon of circle on the site of the right hand of the address next to the star of bookmark bar and the location bar drop historical marker.

Firefox 4 and later versions use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is placed at the right end of the address bar.

During the process of loading page it shows as a stop button and once the charging button is replaced by a reload button.

If you type in the address bar this button would then become a button go.

Click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab in a new tab.

To move the buttons Stop and recharge in the position to the left of the address bar, you can use the following steps:

    • Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize.
    • If the menu bar is hidden on Windows or Linux use "Firefox > Options > toolbars."
    • Drag the buttons Reload and stop at their previous position to the left of the address bar.
    • Set the "Reload - Stop" order for a combined "Stop/Reload" button.
    • Set the order of 'Stop - Reload' or separate them otherwise (space or separator) for two separate buttons.

  • Firefox will not remember to use the reader for PDF downloads

When you use Gmail, I have an email with attachments in PDF. For each PDF attachment, there are 3 possibilities: use the player integrated, download or copy of Google Drive. When I selected download, the popup says "you have chosen to open:...» "and then offers you two selections: 'Open with' and 'Save File '. Previously, the option 'Open with' remember that I wanted to use the drive with the PDF file. It no longer does this. I have to go and find the drive every time, even if I clicked "do this automatically". Whenever I have go to the player, he will use it. It won't be just remembering to use drive next time. Under Application Options, it does not for the PDF files, it must 'Use Adobe Reader'. I reinstalled Firefox, as well as ensuring that records in my application profile data have been deleted, so there is a clean version.

Test with a single message, it seems that Google sends good content-type header (' application/pdf'). The present attached screenshot the "response headers" in the web console.

Sometimes the settings file that stores your preferences for handling download becomes corrupt with duplicated or contradictory information. Its format internal being impenetrable, it is generally easier to remove the file and have Firefox rebuild. You must update your PDF preferences once again, but I hope that it will work again.

    Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • File menu > exit

Pause while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename the mimeTypes.rdf to something like mimeTypes.old

Restart Firefox upward, review the Options/Applications and select PDF preferences, then retest Gmail. Any improvement?

  • When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried to change that in all: config; Browser.newtab.URL, but it will not

When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried several times to change that through words: config; Browser.newtab.URL. I put in the site I want and it won't change. I tried to put in: blank and it don't work. I'm obviously something wrong - can you help please?

    Thank you

If Firefox is ignorant preference browser.newtab.url, the usual culprit is an extension.

You can open the page in Firefox Add-ons using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

  • I really don't like the new version of Firefox, when they go to restore? The idea of this layout is worse than the error Vista mircosofts.

It is not that I don't like the change, in fact I love it. However, the open tabs and new Windows Open should return to the original format. Of course, there's a fancy transition but it is more annoying than enjoyable. I never complain about things like that, in fact this will be my first ever complaint about a browser, Explorer, I stop, and looks like I'll do it again until they have change the format of this upgrade. I do not used and I refuse to everything everyone I know feels the same way.
