From April 2014, no security/more operating system patches released at Microsoft (for the most part) for Windows XP.  It's a BONE death in the eyes of its creator.

Your anti-virus software may or may not be supported - which depends on its own end of life such as decided by its supplier, and even if it is a Microsoft product, is not directly related to the lifecycle of Windows XP (you can say that as Windows XP came with no native antivirus/antimalware features.)

  • Does Windows natively support the aggregation of links?

There are some descriptions on the aggregation of links in Wikipedia.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_aggregation

"Note that Microsoft Windows does support not natively the aggregation of links (at least until Windows Server 2008)."

I was wondering if this description is accurate? And what about the new windows operating system, such as Windows Server 2012 edition?

Windows xp, Windows 7 and Windows 8 natively supports the aggregation of links? If the answer if not, anyone know why? I know, Linux and other operating systems support the aggregation of links.

    Hi, Peacegump,

For NIC teaming or link aggregation support, you will need to contact your provider network adapter or an OEM (for example, Dell offers a driver of consolidation).  They provide you with a driver that allows the grouping of NETWORK adapters, because Windows does not offer this feature in the core of the operating system.

  • E-mail/password reset for an xbox 360. Windows Live support is me misleading to their moderators, etc. I need some help here!

I need a password reset on an old e-mail account linked to my xbox 360. (the enamel of related Xbox Live account). However after going around in circles with the xbox and Windows Live support person will help me. I have provided more than enough evidence that its me (old/new address, debit card info AND xbox console ID AND serial number for information). And I am NOT to START a NEW GAMERTAG due the fact that I have spent money under my current gamertag. Now they are misleading me to the moderators of Windows with this problem. So now what?

E-mail bellsouth.net and its related help/support page has since been purchased, reformatted and dissolved for their new name like ATnT. Their support tech/operators won't help me as well since it is a problem of bellsouth and not an ATnT. But the email is bellsouth.

I can't do any kind of password reset because I forgot my secret question answer. A mistake in good faith, but one that keeps this issue to be resolved. I have provided a list of answers to him but still no help and I keep getting turned down and rejected.

Windows answers forums are for technical problems and we do not have any control over the resets password for all Windows, XBOX and Windows LIve accounts.

You will need to contact Windows Live Support as Kim said.

  • Windows XP support is no longer in April 8, 2014

Hello everyone. If Windows XP will be more taken in charge by April 8, 2014 and I fear I'm not using Windows XP no longer after is no longer in charge any more. Will I still use Windows XP computer after it is no longer support more?

I run the Crucial system scanner and I found that my model number of Compaq SR2010NX.

If your system has 2 GB of RAM installed (results of the Crucial scanner) it will run Windows 7 32 bit correct. For best results, install the M500/Samsung 840 Evo essential or some other SSD.

HP (who took over Compaq) have Windows Vista 32 Bit drivers that work with Windows 7 32-bit here:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3239113#N556

The chipset NVIDIA GeForce 6150 HIM so install this also:

Evaluate Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit for 30 days use an .iso of Digital River here:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Windows/Windows-7-SP1-ISO-download/

Note that you need to purchase a Windows 7 Home Premium license and activate the expiration of the trial period.

    To install Windows see here:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/Windows-7-installation/ Or more in detail:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/

Note the guide is Dell in function, and more steps are the same for other resellers of computers. Press F12 for the boot in the BIOS may be a different key for the Compaq but must say on the BIOS screen.

  • A good Antivirus Program enough to protect more desktop that cannot be will become Windows 8

Just found out that my office 5 years cannot be upgraded to Windows XP 8 because of an incompatible bios.

    Already discussed this elsewhere

Like many home users, the Office has been used for more serious work such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Photo editing high quality images.

What are the opinions on just letting a virus of high quality like Bitdefender not protecting it and just let it go that Microsoft supports is more security for XP. I know that it is possible simply to keep disconnected from the internet forever. I was wondering.

Antivirus and anti-malware are REACTIVE.  At the time where they usually understand that an exploit was used to infect/infest you (which is likely to be how the lack of new updates will expose Windows XP to infection/infestation) - it's too late.

If this system will take care of Windows 7, and you might drop to 8.1 Windows, it will be probably very well in the hardware specs for Windows 7.  8.1 Windows and Windows 7 will require a clean install anyway.  Purchase a support/license of Windows 7 OEM (System Builder) and install it and you're good until 2020 and you will always have the general appearance of Windows XP and most of your hardware/software will probably be able to be installed and running.

  • Is am E Solutions a part of Windows full support?

Last year, I received callfrom about some problems with my computer.  Thye said they sold Windows full support and I have purcahsed a 3-year contract. Am I being scammed?

    Hi LynneForrest,

You always want to be very careful of telephone canvassing received like this.

Cited in our article of fraud:

Cybercriminals often use the names of well-known companies, such as ours, in their scams. They think it will convince you to give them money or your personal information. While they usually use email to deceive you, they sometimes use the phone instead.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/msName.aspx

In addition, by checking the site Web of am E Solutions Web of Trust, he scored very low.  Please see the following thread similar with some additional information:

  • How to get windows help & support on my PC

Is no longer, I can get windows help & support on my PC.  I know not what happened, one day it's simply not there.  Can you help me get it back?

    Hi Celine,.

This problem may occur if you try to use help in a program that uses a component to help older, WinHlp32.exe to display Help content. Because Windows Vista and later versions of Windows include no WinHlp32.exe, you must install this component to open the .hlp files that were created in the older help content.

I suggest you to refer to the help article and check if it helps.

I can't open the help that was created in Windows Help format (WinHlp32.exe)

  • SAN HQ on Windows 10 Support

Any idea when the installer SAN HQ will be patched to support Windows 10?  Right now it won't install not because he thinks that .net 4.5 is not installed, when it comes with 10 Windows by default.  Guessing the installer is simply not set up to correctly detect.  Thank you.

I realized a work around that.  Install SanHQ 2.6 on your machine windows 10 then when it opens it will say the version is obsolete and it will upgrade.  On the Server Setup does not check for .NET 4.5.

  • "windows live support" scam

I received a call from a tone of voice Indies declaring what he called a "windows live support" and that my computer has been hacked. "Red flashing lights here to demonstrate that your computer has been hacked." I was suspicious, but done what said the voice. I opened the event viewer that showed many caveats and warnings from computer work bad... some 15,000 of them spanning over 2 years. They wanted me to download a file, but I refused and said I want to remember them. There was a bit of drama involved in the incident. I did a search on google for "windows live support" which returned several hits as well as some phone numbers. I called an and the voice of the East Indies told me I just had been called and that he had spoken with 'Chrissy '. He also informed me that the 'service' to clean my computer will cost at least $249. I refused, hung up and did a search for "windows live support scam." The following link came ( http://darranboyd.wordpress.com/2011/05/21/windows-live-support-scam/ ) who wore a similar activity for the past two years of several regions of the world. It is very interesting reading. All this seems like a scam and I do not understand why Microsoft has apparently done nothing to that users aware of this problem and/or close this type of scam.

Believe me, we receive dozens of these reports on a daily basis.

Go to the forum and search for following scam.

This has happened for many years. The main problem with trying to stop these scams, it's that the authors know how to stay hidden in the countries where the application of the law may be missing.

Both old & news readers are SSD. The two motherboards are made by Asus. If I can't get Windows to activate - what should I do about it? Thank you in advance for your help!

You may need to reactivate by phone, OEM licenses are not really intended to be transferred from the original motherboard it came with that.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
