    Hello knoxlab,

Your computer cannot read your SD card after you have made a recovery on your laptop.

Go to Device Manager and uninstall the card reader, it should include the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

This will uninstall and reinstall the driver for the card reader.

Here is a link to the Device Manager.

    Hello

Many readers of cards have been created before the SDHC technology became available and are not able to work with the new format. For example, a memory card reader that was made in 2002 is capable of reading a card Secure Digital (SD) 1 GB, but can not read a 4 GB card.

Please note that the card drivers memory are installed automatically by the operating system.

To use your card memory of higher capacity without blocking the computer, do one of the following:

If you use the card in a camera or another device, you can connect the device to the computer via a USB or FireWire cable. When connected, most devices appear as a removable drive in Windows and can be used in the same way as the card reader.
Buy a USB memory card reading device that plugs into any free USB port. Make sure that the USB device is able to read the SDHC. These devices are fairly inexpensive and can be used in any computer equipped with a USB port.

  • HP dv4-1123us Pavilion Media Card will not read

I have a Pavilion dv4-1123us who will not read a 16 GB SDHC media. He reads a xD 512 MB and 2 GB.

    What's wrong?

I wanted to let you know that what you did was good.  I invited a friend of mine who is quite in computer problems.  He checked that the drivers you have installed were correct. Soon, he realized he had a problem with my Photo Picasa 3 program. There google something like Picasa won't read the card camera and found that there was an automatic upgrade a few days ago (when I started having the problem) that created this problem.

It's the Gremlin Picasa version Build 3.9 136.18. affecting Windows Vista and XP and Windows 8.

    This is what happens:

    Hello

There is a problem with imports in the latest version of Picasa (3.9 Build 136.18). Windows Vista and XP seems to be affected. Until it's resolved use Windows to perform the import.

  • Tecra M1 will not read any type of SD card

    Help!
According to the title, my M1 will not read any type of SD card. I'm running the SP2 of XP reloaded from original floppies, and it is fully up-to-date with Windows Update.
The little green light adjacent to the slot flashes briefly on the insertion of a card, but nothing happening for example no open option window and nothing visible in my computer.

I downloaded the latest drivers and installed according to the directives of the readme.txt file and even thought to copy the SDDEVMGR.dll in the System32 folder.
I obviously lack something, so any help or pointers are welcome.

    Thank you very much. Craig

    Hello

Usually, books are not all sizes of SD card and so you should be sure that the used SD card is supported and compatible with the Tecra M1 card reader.

But if you are using a compatible SD card the laptop should be able to read/write on the SD card.
I try to remove the SD card in the Device Manager controller and remove the driver software malfunction. Restart the computer and install the latest drivers again.

PS: A registry cleaning would be desirable. CCleaner is a great registry cleaning applications

    Hello

I think you should consult your user manual because this type of card is not supported:
+ Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo and Memory Stick adapter are not compatible with the multiple digital media card slot. Do not insert the Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo into the slot. Data lost or damaged if you use one card other than those supported. +

  • Windows XP will not read sdhc memory

How is my windows xp it will not read sdhc memory?

How my windows xp read the sdhc memory card?

    See the following article:

(934428) hotfix for Windows XP that
Adds support for SDHC cards that have
a capacity of more than 4 GB
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934428

If the hotfix does not fix the problem... it is possible that your
media player is not compatible with the SDHC technology.
Best perhaps is to buy an external drive that is SDHC
compatible or download to the device using a USB cable.

  • Windows will not read the disc media

For some reason, windows will not read dvd or cd or the floppy one and the flash drives or cards of the camera with a usb drive. What would cause this and how then I get back to work? All media works on the other pc.

Always connect these devices to drive/USB card edge USB connection (for desktop Front panel USB ports); never use a connector of the control panel back or USB hubs.

Read the page and manually or just download & run fixit MS; It just automatically all the steps

With regard to the FDD. I'll say change the player as FDD get very often defective & now a days it is difficult to get a new one. For the majority of them are now short lived to over-exploitation.
