Will this void my warranty

Hello

I bought the HP Pavilion g6-2014tx laptop computer with Windows 7 pre-installed. But now I am facing performance issues and to format the laptop on my own. I don't want to use the HP Recovery configuration, I like different configurations to do with my laptop.

Now if I format my laptop on my own without HP recovery, will this void any warranty associated with the laptop?

Please help me with this.

Thank you.

Hello:

It will cancel the software warranty, but not the hardware warranty.

In other words, HP will not cover your regular installation of W7 and if you need help, they will ask you to reinstall the HP image.

Thus, to make your set of recovery disks before installing windows 7 your way.

  • I managed to spill water on my MacBook Pro, Apple will know if I open just to check if the sensor LCI (water) have been activated? And if they somehow, this void my warranty?

Today, I spilled a glass of water and it went all over my MacBook Pro keyboard. The laptop is less than a month. I did everything what is recommended - I turned off and returned upside down now and just do it sit down u with ventilation and a fan just next door. If I open it in a few days to see if sensors of water have been activated, this will automatically cancel my warranty even if they are not. I read that sometimes they get activated, so I would check.

Water + computer means generally computer died.

Turn the power off.  Leave it unplugged.  Find your backup.

  • Adding a new power supply will void the warranty

    Hello

I would like to replace the power supply 350w comes with the HP Pavilion p6-2378.  I have a 500w I'd replace it with.  Will this void my warranty?  This is the standard of 1 year.  I do that so that I can put a secondary graphics (AMD Radeon 4650 [assuming there is enough electricity to 500w?]) and take advantage of the GPU power and additional outputs. Then, would it be making void my warranty?

    Thank you

Upgrade your PC with approved HP and parts supplied will not void your warranty.

However, if you upgrade your PC with parts that are not approved HP and HP determines that the changes caused failure HP is not required to honor the warranty.

Some PC outside the United States are delivered with seals and if broken the warranty is voided.  I have yet to see the seals on the PC of American consumers.

  • Will it affect my warranty?

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought an Acer Aspire that comes pre-installed with Windows 8. Windows 8 and I get not too well and I want to install Windows 7 on it.

Will this void my warranty? Or my hardware warranty will still be effective?

I have the standard warranty 1 year manufacturer.

    Thank you

    Dev

AFAIK the hardware warranty is still good, as long as you do not tamper with or open your computer case.  As long as you're decommissioning only the operating system, you should be fine.  The best way to know for sure ask the people at the store you purchased your computer and they would be able to tell you, and they can even make the downgrade for you if you wish, but there may be a fee involved.

  • XP installation will void the warranty

    Hello

I hope I am in the right place to ask this question - find info on the Toshiba site is not very easy! I am looking to buy a laptop Toshiba with Vista preloaded, but want to partition the drive and put XP on the partition as a dual boot. What I need to know is, this will void the international guarantee? Or where can I find?

    Hope you can help!

    Thank you

Don t worry buddy. Installation of all applications, programs, software and other operating systems will not void the warranty.
I recommend that you first create a new partition in Windows Vista, and then you could try to reinstall Win XP on the new partition.

  • Star Wars h.e. 15-an000nl: optical drive Swap with a ssd will void the warranty?

    Hi all

I am a proud new owner of this machine, and since it comes with a 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM and I am also a happy owner of an SSD, I was wondering if the optical drive with the ssd Exchange void my warranty?

I read a little the other q / a and I see that if I try to reach the drive, with all the screws and the cover plastic to raise, I'll probably end by unsecured (actually is not very clear if it's for sure or I'll use a ssd tested non hp...) and since then to remove the optical drive , I just remove a screw, buy an adapter and you're good to go...

So my question is: what limits should I beyond the warranty for you? It's just the opening action itself, or there is more?

And since I write here, optical drive sata port is a sata3 as (I hope) the hard disk it is? Would you recommend this operation?

Thanks in advance for any assistance received...

The optical drive is an authorized user of replacement so you can put an SSD in an optical caddy and will not void the warranty but I do not recommend: 1. the interface is slower; and 2. You cannot start it. Unfortunately, access to the internal hard drive space is verboten and may void the warranty. We can speculate and say if it's done well, nobody would know and likely HP won't guarantee, but we can get official word on this, so the smartest thing is to assume the worst. If you don't care the guarantee and want just your laptop to be quick, we are happy to help you with the understanding that you risk the warranty.

  • ProBook 440 G2: RAM Upgrade will void the warranty?

    Hello

After a lot of dilemma, I buy THISlaptop.

My main concern is the "on-site 5-year guarantee" it comes with.

This laptop has now only 4 GB of RAM. I want to add an another 4 GB myself.

In doing so, it will take Bay opening to service the laptop.

Open myself for a RAM upgrade will void the warranty?

In addition, no one knows how much total RAM this computer supports? How many slots is there?

The page of the product didn't.

I tried to contact HP technical support by email, and I have to enter a serial number to reach them. I entered the serial number of my laptop current (and also a probook), but I think that the agent did not read my email properly. Instead of answering my question, he sent me a link to extend the warranty on my laptop today.

    Thank you...

    Hello

According to the Manual, it has 2 slots:

See Page 2, 3, 47, 48, to get the instructions before and during the replacement process. Even if it is a simple procedure if you do not have confidence in replacement, it gives to the HP service center, they will do it for you. Opening the door to service memory will not void the warranty - but if you daamage something in the replacement process, it will void the warranty.

Please get the exact configuration and preference of the same brand (like this one in the slot) of RAM, mentioned in the manual.

You can run this toolto know the details of the installed RAM sticks & moving forward with the purchase of od sizes appropriate sticks needed to make it to 8 GB in total.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - will be lost the warranty if I upgrade the RAM?

    Hey guys,.

I wanted to know if I purchase and install my own module SO-DIMM RAM in my laptop, it will void my warranty?
If so, how can I spend my memory?

    I agree with Akuma.
You will not void the warranty if you upgrade the RAM.
I've also updated my RAM and I t has not had any problems with my warranty.

Moreover, the best RAM for upgrade is the RAM even if you as before. I mean the manufacturing and specification. So you can ensure that the new RAM will work.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones sting blue sticker voids the warranty?

I just got my torch about a week ago and had a display problem with the browser (since fixed). While trying to hard reset of the device with a paperclip, I poked accidentally a hole in the blue tile next to the SIM card. Then, I read this voids the warranty. Is this true? All I can do in case something is wrong with the device later?

I read that somewhere, I don't remember where. That is why I asked where read you it, just in case it could have been an official 'word' of a company, such as like an AT & T service tech poster in the ATT user forums, or something like that, or in a printed manual. Thus,.

    • It is not a problem until you need a warranty repair
    • eBay has replacement labels.

How long have you had the device?

  • 15 - ba021nv: my warranty will be voided if I add a second warehouse?

    Hello.

I'm really happy with my purchase. I just want to know that if i open my laptop Panel (this is in my opinion a large single panel with 10 screws (photo)) and add an ssd as secondary storage, I void my warranty? (also if I open it to clean the dust after months)

If it is not void my warranty, is any way to learn if there is no hidden screws or something complicated about the opening of this certain laptop?

    Thank you in advance.

You will need to take to a service center. HP won't make you ship to them to make an upgrade. And HP will not install 3 pieces left in all cases so made by HP upgrades will cost a multiple of what it should cost. They are not in the business of upgrade, they are in the business of selling laptop.

The laptop does not require a cleaning of the dust up to what after 1 year the warranty is over, more than likely. But you're pointing out some of the problems with this new world of mobile 'closed system '. Personally, I install everything that I feel like installation and the Devil with the warranty but not everyone is quite as reckless. Fact, if you do the upgrade right without damaging the laptop, HP probably (emphasize probably) won't shoot the warranty, but I cannot promise anything in their name.

Give it a day or two for the manuals reappear on the support pages. The other thing you have to worry is that if you try to add a player of WSSD m2 in some cases that are not completely understood or defined, HP has disabled the ports. And if the laptop has a m2 of the factory, even if there is a place for a 2.5-inch SATA SSD laptop won't need caddy and cable inside.

  • Adding a GIGABYTE 660 OC will void my warranty? Problems of heat?

Hi - I wait tomorrow my new 8700 XPS and wonders if the addition of this card will void the warranty? I don't see it on the list of cards approved, although I saw some 660 s

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB

    www.amazon.com/.../B00942TK8I

I was also wondering if there will be problems of heat with long game several hours a day. (e.g. Skyrim/Assassin Creed/Dragon Age Inquisition)?

I'll upgrade later from the PSU and video card, assuming the case is pretty cool - I have a Coolermaster EVO that I doubt will fit.

Any other advice on installation? I don't know if the update of the Bios is required for this card.

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

warranty shouldn't be a problem. Older GPU do not need an update of the BIOS, most recent need of revision of the A10.

Here's a whole thread discussing what you plan.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/t/19611037

I don't come by that much money on a 660 GTX when more recent, better, faster cards is available for less money, that draw less energy and generate less heat.

A GTX 960 will well on skyrim and OK on Assassin creed.

A GTX 970 will be much better, but the OEM PSU is at the limit

Cooling is not bad at all, just make sure that the case has a lot of airflow around it.

  • Msata ssd in X 230 installation will void the warranty?

    Hello

the guy at my local store campus told me that installing an msata ssd in a X 230 me would, of course, void my warranty. Is this really true? Many people seem to install themselves, and the ssd is indeed a YEAR for X 220. On the other hand, in accordance with the X 230 Hardware Maintenance Manual, this no longer seems to be the case...

    Stephan

    Hey there, strava,.

If the HMM said that the part is a FRU, and then replace the part on your own, will indeed, null your guarantee.
