Win 7 hangs during initial installation, asking drivers...

I'm trying to do a full, clean install on a new generation of PC desktop.  The following are new & just bought today:
OS: Brand new retail Windows7 Ultimate (not the version of upgrade)
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Deluxe (Intel P45 chipset)
HARD drive: Western Digital (literally brand new, out of the box... never been used or put in shape)

The problem that I must sound familiar... initial installation block asking drivers (insert the CD/DVD or a USB device with missing drivers).

-J' have already been on the site of Asus and downloaded the latest drivers SATA Win7 and Intel.
-None of the pilots comes to me to get past this problem.
-The BIOS is the last
-I try not to use RAID functions
-SATA is set to "AHCI" in the BIOS Setup... another choice is "IDE" with submenus of "Compatible" & "Improved"... the result is the same in all settings.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently dead in the water and have dropped more than $1000 & spent more than 7 hours of my time to this today.

OK, so a couple of things here...

First of all, thanks to Aziz to try to answer my question, but I respectfully hope that in the future you would read posts more carefully before you answer...

You wrote:
- "Try changing the SATA drive to IDE in BIOS and try installing Windows 7"
.. When in my original post, I said:
- "SATA is set to"AHCI"in the BIOS Setup... another choice is"IDE"with submenus of"Compatible"&"Enhanced"... the result is the same in all settings ." ".

You also then have detailed a series of steps that could only be applied if the operating system has been installed & Starter.  I think it should be clear in my description of the problem that I was not able to get anywhere near that far...
".. .initial install hangs, asking drivers (insert the CD/DVD or a USB device with missing drivers) ." »

In the end, I was able to get things to work & I wanted to share my solution for those who can be useful...  For some reason, the "clean install" (NOT an upgrade) Win7 process would literally see my IDE DVD drive during the first installation process.  Obviously, BIOS could see the DVD player, as he was able to Start from the DVD drive... but during the initial installation, it seems that the DVD player simply ceased to be accessible.  Even now, I'm not sure if this was due to some kind of motherboard problem, or maybe a compatibility problem between Windows 7 and my DVD player specific or whatever... the main cause remains a mystery.  I tried all settings possible jumpers on the drive itself (master, slave, cable select, no rider in all, etc)... all to nothing does not.  It is / was not a disk of old, obsolete... it was purchased last year.  I remain puzzled about what has increased.

Anyway, I knew that the problem was somehow linked to access to the DVD player, I decided to try a SATA DVD drive rather than I had been using the IDE hard drive.  So, I bought a new SATA DVD drive to install in my machine, and finally everything worked well.  Again, I don't know always with certainty what the problem was.  It is possible that I could have bought another IDE DVD drive & tried that instead... that may have worked also, but since I didn't try it, I can't be sure.

Good luck to other similar questions & I hope this helps.

My laptop girls. She asked me to restore the computer to factory settings. It is running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I tried the restore disks 4 times now to pretty much the same results. It will get all the way to the "application final Configuration where it installs the user manual and the office links and then it's there. After reading several posts here with the same problem, I decided to let it sit all night. This morning it had expired. I clicked on the button of the mouse to wake him up. It passes to the logon screen. It shows login Admin and says that the account has been locked, please contact your system administrator. How can this be? It won't let me! My only choice is to restart the system. After the reboot, it displays the screen of the AFC and reinstalls the two same files manual user and links and then it's there.

I can minimize the screen of the AFC I did and then I changed the power settings to never expire. I have the WiFi off button as requested by AFC screen, as it will not be installed file links with WiFi turned on and the user manual. I don't know what else to do.

For the last two months that I had trouble setting things in general, for example MS doc viewer for free and VS2010 c# Express.

  • a6720y with Win 7 hangs during intensive use of USB drive

We have a fairly new HP a6720y office, which we upgraded to Windows 7, 64-bit Home Premium edition.

Small additional hardware - an old mouse MX Duo wireless and keyboard from Logitech, which do not seem to cause us problems and regular use of the iPod connected USB and other drives, including a 1.5 TB of Seagate drive (free Agent). We do not use the wireless LAN (which many others have identified as a source of problems) we have a wired connection.

We have three problems since the installation of Windows 7 (the commercially available version), but I'm only raising the first two here for completeness.  1. the incompatibility between Windows 7 and our antivirus, Symantec confidence online Symantec SEP 11.0.4202.75, giving regularly pop up on the utility driver warning messages.  Apparently, Symantec has fixed this with the version 11.0.5 I have the MS program by my employer and am not sure I can get the latest version up to about 6 months from now, so I'm probably in the market for a new non-Symantec Antivirus program.  2. often very high CPU usage, close to 90%.  When he gets here, the only solution is to turn off and restart.  "System interrupted" is identified as the pork.  This problem may be related to the #1 problem because I think that periods of high CPU usage follow the messages on the incompatible driver for Symantec.  However, others who have raised problems similar to #3 here also have high CPU utilization.

    3. that's the problem, that I wonder about here.  We get a blue screen of death crash, in very specific circumstances - when copying a large number of files (at least a few GB) HDD on the 1.5 TB USB connected hard drive.  The BSOD screen identifies STOP 0 x 00000116 and nvlddmkm.sys (apparently the driver for the onboard nVidia chipset) of this behavior, I suspect the problems between Windows 7 and the motherboard, especially its USB ports.  I tried to download the Windows hotfix identified in another thread, that sounded useful:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/976972

but he could not install, I was told I don't have the right hardware (I think I do).  In any case, I think looking for another driver Nvidia, get a replacement graphics card, do something on the WLAN, running chkdisk on drive C (I have on the 1.5 to drive), other things, but any ideas or advice are appreciated.  Thank you.

I should have been a little clearer...

Installation of xp and blue screen of death

    Hello

I recently formatted the partition boot and recovery of a laptop Medion2230, then merged the two partitions in a single NTFS partition.  Don't ask why, it's a long story.

Then, tried to install a new copy of Windows XP Home.  Everything is OK until the final phase, when the "Blue Screen of death" appeared during the installation of the drivers. Restarted and installing XP as normal to repeat the first onboard staged and went to the "blue screen" at the same point as before.

Using some diagnostic software, I reformatted the drive again, loaded XP set up and I had the same problem.

    Someone knows what to do?

How to impose a layer of HAL during an upgrade or an installation of Windows XP

    Impose a HAL

To prevent Windows XP to automatically determine the system HAL during the upgrade or installation of Windows XP, you can manually force in a system HAL. To impose an Abstraction Layer HAL during a upgrade or installation of Windows XP, follow these steps:

    1. During the phase in text mode of Setup, when you receive the message at the bottom of the screen, press F5:

Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver.

Note If you press F7, the Standard PC HAL loads and the ACPI enforcement is bypassed.

I would not need this except in the systems of many older and low end... :-(  After all, in the same article, for Standard PC they say: "the CPU can be a 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium II, or Pentium III '...

Thanks for letting us know what you were doing.  Do you have all the necessary drivers after loading Windows XP?  I would not recommend using the default drivers for any hardware - always see what the manufacturer offers on their web page for each component of your system - card motherboard chipset, audio, video, network devices, etc.

  • How do I install the drivers during the installation of windows 7

I did an install home premium windows 7 dvd by burning a file .iso I downloaded on a dvd and I am facing problems installing drivers. I extracted the drivers on an external hard drive and installing windows 7 they ask me about the drivers before installing windows.
I have all the drivers in the external hard drive but I tried several times to install them using the button browse and locate the folder that contains every driver and install it alone, but his does not work. So is there a better way to install the drivers?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

During the clean install of Windows 7, users are generally required to install a few drivers for the internal hard drive. These drivers must be written to a DVD disc / USB key and installed when prompted.

In this case, I believe, is that you are trying to install the wrong drivers. The installation requires the internal hard disk drivers. This driver will depend on the configuration of the internal hard drive (RAID, SCSI, etc.).

Another possibility could be that other equipment are not properly recognized by Windows 7 installation. You try to install Windows 7 and burn the ISO on a USB bootable and start the computer to the top of this USB key. Here's how you can do:

  • Get the Bluescreen 0x0000007E error code during the installation of the drivers

Original title: blue screen during the installation of the drivers...

Hello microsoft community. I had a problem about Windows 7.

I am currently using an Acer Aspire, and my internet drivers won´t just install.
The following happens: when you install the driver in my computer properties, it will say that it was not possible to install it.
When you use the .exe installer, it will go straight to a blue screen, the same phenomenon occurs when you try to use the .inf via installation drive of W7.
    The error code is:
    STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, 0x8B3831C0, 0x8B382DAQ)
No message like: ERR_Something appeared, just a bunch of text and a STOP code.
My wireless card is an Atheros ARB597.
Ironically, nothing bad happens during the execution of a distribution such as Ubuntu Linux, the network works fine.
The only BONE observed to have problems is W7, well, it's never happened before...
Oh, and the blue screen is noticed, sometimes appear when the wireless led lights up (what it means when the wireless wins a connection with Windows), when this happens, the driver will install, but a yellow triangular symbol with an exclamation mark appears on the driver, the net still does not
Also, I have extracted the minidump and the .xml generated by the crash, if it helps. I can post

during the installation of windows 8, which upgraded the wizard asks to install now or install by creating media what the difference

When you install by creating media, allows to create a backup of a Virgin DVD USB or USB key installation files. (I recommend you do this in case you need to reinstall Windows 8 in the future).

If you choose to not, Windows 8 will be a non-media from your hard drive installation automatically.

Windows 8 simplifies the procurement process with an installer called Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant Web that makes it easy to download and create a local backup for future use. Digital distribution works this way, you download the installer, launch that and he will download Windows 8, the time it takes depends on the speed of your Internet connection ultimately. Microsoft noted that the Web Installer includes a sophisticated compression technology that downloads pieces in sections of 10 MB to ensure that its safe delivery. When you download the installer, the installer creates a folder called "WindowsESD" in the root of your drive C:\ (if you have multiple partitions that this case may be on another). From there, you will find a complete Windows disk image, you can burn it to a blank DVD and make your own physics, copy, or store it on a USB key.
