win with error code update 64 c (only when trying to install MS update silvelight)

I have already seek and find some answers useful, but without any results. In windows update every time I try to install the update, I get error code 64 c (only for silverlight)
If I try to install it with the exe file via the official website says that I should uninstall the previous version.
I can't uninstall from Add/Remove the Panel (I see not old because updates to intalld after a system restore, I was warned that most of the wount programs work for sure, and as I sayd, I don't see the old updated list)
So I was woundering how I can uninstall it manually becous this is the only way I think.
operating system: win7 ultimate 6.1.7600 32-bit

Who has the same problem I just follow these steps http://blogs.msdn.com/rpomeroy/archive/2008/06/10/how-to-manually-clean-up-a-bad-silverlight-installation.aspx
It worked for me. And "PA bear MS MVP" thank you for the help

    Hello

Fallout 3 is not compatible with Windows 7, the same information is provided in the link given below. http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?type=software&s=fallout

To work around the problem, you can try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

To install the game in compatibility mode follow the link below.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

Before installing the game in compatibility mode I suggest to uninstall the game completely from your computer by using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility.

    1. download the utility from the link below,

    2. install and run it

    3. then select the game from the list of donated items.

Original title: how to install gadget from Microsoft.

I down loaded the gadgets and themes, when I go to install, Windows cannot open this file. If I get them from microsoft, it seems that windows can open.

    Hi mikemontgomery,

If you use windows XP, it is not possible to install Microsoft Gadgets on it. Microsoft Gadgets are optimized for Windows Vista and Windows 7 only.

However, you can use your favorite search engine to download third-party gadgets which can serve the purpose.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Error 0 x 80096001, several errors when trying to install MS VS 2008, Vista SP1 and when you try to run Windows update or Windows Defender.

Hello. I wanted to run Visual Studio 2010 Express edition on my Vista Home Premium, but ran into way too many problems. First of all, download have not installed because of a problem with the installation of .NET framework v4.0. Then I tried to VS 2008, but has encountered the same problem with the .NET framework. Whenever I try to run Windows update, it displays error Code 80096001 and said "Windows could not check for new updates. So I tried to download .net directly from microsoft downloads, but whenever I try to install it, it says I need to turn on .net "turn on or off windows features", in the control panel. I tried, but the list is completely empty, it shows nothing at all. I downloaded the vista sp1, but it too installation stops with error code 0 x 80096001.
I tried to disable my anti-virus (avg free). Windows Defender does not initially upward or through subsequent attempts to run it. It shows the same error code. Please advise on how I can solve these problems and use Visual Studio... it's very frustrating because I never had these problems with XP... everything worked.
