Win7 64 bit and computer Pavilion Elite
I have a Pavilion Elite 9753uk with a NVIDIA Geforce GT220 graphics card that willl not work with win7 64 bit, latest drivers are suitable, but it needs a graphical BIOS update which does not always have to be made available, Nvidia forums full of unhappy people!
He will have to buy a new card, not in the game, but would need a duel monitor setup, suggestions please for a card that won't break the Bank, works with Windows 7 and 64-bit.
Thank you for your sensible suggestions.
After a verey frustrating weekend of research into the problem, I find that there is no solution to the incompatibility of the HP Pavilion / 220 Nvidio (N11071) and 64-bit win.
Not wanting to spend money on a new map to see the same error occurs, I'll now wait for win7 SP1 (ormaybe even 2) in the hope that a workaround is provided.
Thanks for your help

Should I apply the different computer names to my Win7 32-bit and 64-bit installations?
I have Win7 Pro x 64 (64-bit) retail installed on my first hard drive and Win7 Pro x 86 (32 bit) OEM on my second hard drive (such as insurance, in the case that some of my programs and games do not run in Win7 64 bit). At the beginning of each installation, Win7 request your screen name and the computer name.
Given that the two Win7s are installed in the same machine, and I have another hard drive as my Backup Master, should I give my Win7s the different computer names? I think I have to, because I think I run the risk of my backup of 64 - bit crushing my 32-bit backup and my 32-bit crushing my 64-bit support. whenever I run a backup of a BONE followed by another...
If you have both installed on separate partitions/hard disks, they are considered separate or computers, facilities so yes, both must have unique names.

HP ProBook 4520 s - dual boot between Win7 64 bit and Ubuntu 10
Hello
I just got my new HP ProBook 4520 s a few days ago and:
(1) there were 32 bit Windows7 professional pre-installed / pre-loaded
(2) it comes with the TWO 32-bit and 64-bit Windows7 professional DVD HP (I guess versions OEM HP)
(3) the HD have 4 partitions in the following order
score A 3 a) named SYSTEM
3 (b) the parition where Win7 is installed
(3 c) HP_RECOVERY partition
partition HP_TOOLS 3D)
I did a lot of dual-boot in the past years, but my question is really related to maintain the HP diagnostic tools that arise before even that any operating system is loaded... and diagnostic tools are those of the HP_TOOLS partition. For example, when I ran some diagnostic tests, after completing the tests and the boot of Win7, I see in the HP_TOOLS partition, in one of its directories, a .log file recently updated with the results of diagnostic tests. I want to assure you that I can still run powered on the laptop even after dual-boot diagnostic tools.
Now, since I have the DVD 32 - bit and 64 - bit, I decided I want to dual-boot between Linux and 64 bit Windows7 professional. So here's what I've done so far:
(A) has reduced the volume of Win7 Windows computer management disk management
(B) install Win7 64 bit on top of the existing 32-bit Win7 partition, format this partition during the installation. So no more HP utility and on the installation of 64-bit programs.
So now I have Win7 64 bit installed and professional pre-activated since it's the same notebook. Then, I realized that I really need to delete the HP_RECOVERY partition since you can have up to 4 primary partitions. So by deleting the HP_RECOVERY partition, I will be left with 3 primary partition, then I can create an extended partition to contain other partitions for Ubuntu, etc...
But before I delete the HP_RECOVERY partition, I want to know:
*) When starting, before even that any operating system is loaded, HP you shows options like "Diagnostics" and "recovery". How is the computer HP laptop knows that diagnoses are in the HP_TOOLS partition? How the laptop HP ProBook 4520 s knows that recovery is in the HP_RECOVERY partition?
*) Since I have the DVD of Win7 HP (32-bit and 64-bit), I don't really have the HP_RECOVERY partition. If I delete the partition, what will happen to this start screen which gives you the possibility of "recovery"? Of course the recovery option won "t work and I don't like, but will remove the partition HP_RECOVERY won't let me boot into Win7, or any OS besides? for example it does not validate there HP_RECOVERY partition to a place before loading Win7?
*) Then, I want to install Ubuntu, and preferably Ubuntu (or Grub also) overwrites the MBR. I prefer Grub on EasyBCD. I can easily change the configuration of grub so I can dual-boot with Windows7... But again, my question is, where does HP maintains information about diagnostic tools that they are in the HP_TOOLS partition, like the option of the diagnostic tool loading via BIOS before even any OS is loaded. Is that information in the MBR, or is it in the partition named SYSTEM?
Summary of the questions are therefore:
(1) where HP keeps its information that diagnostic tools are in the HP_TOOLS partition? It is in the MBR, or the SYSTEM partition, or is it stored in the BIOS hard coded to load more precisely from the location of the partition? I want to keep the ability to run Diagnostics even after you have a dual-boot installation with grub in the MBR.
(2) deleting the HP_RECOVERY partition will prevent the workbook from loading correctly before moving to Win7, Ubuntu or any other OS?
Just find the answer to my original question:
He uses the EFI interface and seeks a partition named HP_TOOLS, which means overwrite the MBR will not affect the operation of the HP diagnostic tools.

I use a Maxtor Ultra 16 L01F500 SATA, but Win7 (64 bit) is to identify it as a SCSI drive Maxtor L100P0. He not only identifies by mistake, but also blocks access. I get an error indicating that the location is not accessible. Under computer management, the drive is there and gives the correct size and format (NTFS - was previously my main drive until I upgraded to Win7) when we look under properties. Also, Windows shows the drive is healthy and active. Don't know what to do to get access again (I have admin access to the player thought that would help). I also ran the disk error checking and it showed no errors. You don't know why Win7 has misidentified or why it will not allow access. Any info or help would be appreciated. I can't seem to find the drivers for the drive, otherwise I would have tried that. Thanks for reading.
In disk management, remove this disk partitions, and then create a new partition

I quit the program & run the troubleshooter who told me once the wireless card is not installed. I tried to reset the modem & without any result. Sometims you can disconnect & connect internet and reconnect. My pad on the same system I have no problem. Please help, what is the problem.
Hello
Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
This problem may occur because of driver or network connection settings.
Try the following and see if it helps.
Method 1:
Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.
How can I troubleshoot network card?
Method 2:
This problem can occur if authentication enable IEEE 802. 1 X for this network checkbox is enabled. If this box is checked, but there is no server to authenticate the connection is interrupted. If you turn on the wireless network connection, it disconnects again after a short period.
To disable authentication IEEE 802. 1 X, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, type ncpa.cpl, and then press ENTER.
b. right click on your wireless network connection, then click Properties.
c. click the wireless networks tab.
d. under preferred networks, click your wireless network, and then click Properties.
e. click on the Authentication tab, click to clear the authentication enable IEEE 802. 1 X for this network check box and then click OK twice.
Method 3:
I suggest that you do the following and check if it helps.
a. click "Start", enter "NCPA. CPL"(without the quotes) and press ENTER.
b. right-click on the connection you use for the local connection, and then click "Properties".
c. Click to select 'Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and then click 'properties '.
d. in the Internet Protocol window, we will change the "Preferred DNS server" to 208.67.222.222
e. click 'OK' twice to complete the change.
Hope that the information provided is useful.

Dual boot Win7 32 bit and the 64 bit Win8?
In anticipation to Windows 8 be accessible to the masses, I would like to know what are the possibilities to install 64-bit Windows 8 when Windows 7 32-bit is already installed.
Would Windows 7 32 bit and all the 32-bit drivers need to be reinstalled with the 64-bit versions?
Which means a complete reinstallation of parameters/data and applications existing/installed all be kept or partition the hard disk drive and to start new to new is the only solution?
Or install another hard drive would be more appropriate?

If you dual-boot Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8, you will need to install the 64-bit native drivers. Windows 8 and 7 64 bit do not support 32-bit drivers.
Which means a complete reinstallation of parameters/data and applications existing/installed all be kept or partition the hard disk drive and to start new to new is the only solution?
Yes, you will have to reinstall applications too. You will be able to migrate your personal files and settings by using the Windows Easy Transfer utility.
Or install another hard drive would be more appropriate?
You can install it on another partition or hard disk. If you are installing on another partition or hard drive, you will need a full version of Windows 8.

Dv6000 Win7 (64 bit) and web cam software.
OK - I have improved my dv6000 (dv6925us) for Win7 64 bit. Everything works fine - with the exception of the D * N web cam. He enrolled in Device Manager and is visible here - but there is no software on the HP site so he can work. I tried to download the recommended software for Vista 64, and running it in compatibility mode - but name joy at all (in fact, it does install it even the HP service pack - survey of errors and ends the installation). Does anyone know of a 3rd party software that works with this webcam?
Hello:
I think that you are supposed to use the Cyberlink YouCam software. There is a version of W7, that you can try.

Compaq CQ58 - 299EV model of updated video card and driver for win7 64 bit and ram upgrade
Hello
Since I was my compaq laptop (about a year), it was windows 7 64 bit operating system inside, even if the manual was for windows 8. So, when I looked up initially for up-to-date drivers I couldn't find support for win8, but I chose not to because I saw tons of compatibility issues with this model of laptop. Well I don't want to update soon, so I would like to know what are the latest drivers I can find for my model for win7 64-bit.
So, what model of video card has it built in (it just says: "Intel(r) HD Graphics"), so I can find the right drivers for it?
Also can I put my ram? There are now 2 GB.Thanks in advance.
Since it is a Celeron processor it comes:
Intel HD Graphics (on models with Intel Pentium or Celeron processor; supports DirectX 10)
They don't give him a number. The processor is based on the Sandy Bridge architecture, so any driver for the video card HD 3000 series will work.
Latest version of the Intel driver
This can take up to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM, like this:
Here is the Manual:
See page 45 for the upgrade procedure.
If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

then download the installation files.

Boot with Win7 32 bit and Satellite L450-36 problems
A friend has a laptop Toshiba Satellite L450-36 Windows 7 32-bit which he thinks has been hit by a Virus. He went to use the laptop a few weeks 3 + ago and concluded that it would not initialize. Now, he has 3 daughters who, before this problem, much used YouTube and say that they were able to see updates Adobe Flash Player appear on the screen at regular intervals, but they have deleted the. When he came to talk about the problem for me, I offered to watch the machine that I have some disks that can cure or at least let me save records Paragon Rescue Kit, Avira Anti Virus Rescue Disk, AVG Rescue Disk & others.
When I turn on the machine I get a screen with boot Toshiba Leading Innovation one
Press [F2] for INSTALLATION, press [F12] to the lower boot device selection menu. I leave the machine in operation and a window pops up let me the choice of {HD1},, , but nothing happens when I select one, then I stop the machine and start again, this time by pressing F2 which takes me into the BIOS. I put in a cd, Paragon Rescue Kit 11, arrived on the BIOS and the CD starts. I did the same thing with the Avira Anti Virus system and it found 4 infections. He then lets me copy all my friend (s) files on an external hard drive, which allows me to complete objectives. I started the Recovery CD/DVD Toshiba product and I get a Windows loading files message followed by a bar of Microsoft Corporation loading under him and then there is a black screen with a cursor on it. I did the same thing with a system Windows 7 32-bit repair disc and get the same result black screen empty.
I am retired and to my knowledge has been gained since the Commodore 64 days, then Amiga and PC now, but it isn't enough for me to fix this problem. I found very frustrating to be able to use a Linux program and see all the programs on the PC, but not actually being able to restart it, and start them! I could probably Boot & Nuke the hard drive, but my friend wasn't t provided with a disc of Windows 7 o/s system couldn t so re-installed without buying again.
I would be very grateful for any advice on how to get rid of the HD1/FLOPPY/NEXT HD window and a solution for the portable computer so that it starts properly. I took pictures of different screens on the laptop that I could pass if they would help.
In my opinion, you should remove the HARD drive and connect it to another computer and perform low level set in shape and just delete everything. You can use a tool like this and after doing this put back and try to install the original recovery image using the recovery disk.
In the past I ve never had these problems, but I think it's the best way to remove all the viruses or malicious applications.
Test it and thanks for posting comments. -

3 graphics drivers.
4. quick launch buttons.
The rest you can install it in any order.
Only if your model is with Bluetooth:
There are also so before you install the bluetooth driver you must first switch on the Bluetooth Module in HP Wireless Assistant.

First of all... I'm not grumpy, geek or nerd... And I want to say these words to those who are at best.
In this case, you need to see me as a kid in kindergarten, being taken by the hand and what to do, down on every detail. Sad but true.
Without me know why, I've known several DLL files missing, and often obtained on those error messages.
A pain in the neck, so I re-installed Windows 7 64 bit, because I didn't want to mess with these missing dll.
After this relocation, I couldn't have the internet connection to my router. Fortunately, I have a fixed 10 year and longer, where I eventually found the driver I needed, so it works now.
But now it seems that there are several other drivers missing or not installed.
I got a little info, another post, it must provide information and hope that will be enough. If this isn't the case, then please let me know additional information which may be required, and where I can find those on my PC, so I can provide these.
Missing drivers:
Network controller;
Hardware ID: PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_008B & SUBSYS_53158086 & REV_34
SM Bus controller.

(USB) Universal Serial Bus controller.
Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1033 & DEV_0194 & SUBSYS_1659103C & REV_04
I have 4 USB ports, but only work, others do not react, and I need all four at the same time. In addition, I would like to have everything in order after I had to reinstall Win 7.
Thank you in advance for any help I can get. Just have in mind that I need the things dug into the paper.
Hello:
You need these drivers...
SM Bus controller. Install this first and then restart.
Network controller;
(USB) Universal Serial Bus controller.
You will also need this bluetooth driver.
