Window Live Messenger broken update
I'm on XP pro and I am wanting to use Windows Live Messenger today. I am asked to be upgraded as "a new version is available. You must install this newer version and. The new version of stalls on 8%. So basically I will not be able to use Windows live Messenger more. Painful why Microsoft forced updates? It worked perfectly well.
All this means that my 10 staff all should go to something more reliable like Skype to talk to me and creates more resentment against Microsoft on the market. .
Hi Al Hall,.
I suggest you post in your query in the forum live windows for better assistance. Link: what please refer:

Windows live messenger crashes
Hello
I'm having problems with windows live messenger on my laptop Tecra. I tried to get help from the microsoft site but since windows XP Professional is installed when I got this laptop they will not help.I downloaded the windows live messenger and install it on my computer. When I finished a talk with someone on the internet, the problem hangs and I have to press Ctrl, Alt and del to exit the program.
Can anyone help?
Thank you very much
Ben.Have you used the beta version?
I read that Microsoft have released their latest Windows Live Messenger beta updated to testers. I think the latest version is 8.0.0812.
Maybe this problem occurs because of a bug in the software.I recommend you a few specific sites of Windows Live Messenger or support websites. In my opinion, you should find many sites.
I also recommend to check all older versions -
Original title: installing windows live messenger update revealed a .dll file bad, maybe direct3d related.
I am running windows Vista professional, service pack 2. I just updated windows live essentials, specifically the Messenger and have since lost feature program.
The launch of the program, I get an error message saying:
"
Msnmsgr.exe - bad ImageC:\Windows\System32\D3D10Level9.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
"subsequently I do not have much in graphical material in the e-mail program, insofar as a chat window is empty (but I can still type messages and send them, without being able to see, or no response). I don't see this problem in any other program, but perhaps no other programs try to use graphics in this way. In principle, I could downgrade windows live Messenger back to what it was, but that seems more to avoid the problem rather than solve them.
I had a quick glance in the D3D10Level9.dll file, in the system32 folder: it has no size and is apparently empty. Conclude that this file is just broken and needs to be replaced?
An internet search indicates that this file is described as "Direct3D 10 to Direct3D9 translation Runtime". I was wondering if it was a directx problem, so tried to reinstall that. It did not work.
It seems to me that I need a replacement for this particular dll file that actually works, but I'm incredibly careful to find a replacement and the "tips" on how to mess with some arbitrary site system files.
Could someone offer any advice on how I should proceed with this? What danger is there to find me a replacement dll file, change the privileges of the corrupted file, so I can replace it and make the switch? It would be the right thing to do? My analysis of the situation is correct? Could it be solved with a relocation of a program?
Thank you very much
Uninstalling and reinstalling the update of windows for a year that has put the file d3d10level9.dll on the computer, the problem has been resolved.

KB2286198 Windows Update causes Windows Live Messenger stops responding and crashed.
After believing that my computer has somehow a virus and spend hours trying to solve the problem, I think that an update is causing the problem: I solved it by following these steps:
KB2286198 Windows Update causes Windows Live Messenger stops responding and crashed. Resolution: restore to before the update has been activated Windows installed updates and hid the update, so it would not automatically reinstall and the program works. Please, difficulty of the update or rewrite it. I can't imagine that I'm alone on this breaks.

My Windows Live Messenger display name and staff messenge are automatic updated to a foreign link and url. When I login, I always see someone connect from somewhere else. And even I'm out somewhere else, change my password, he'll be back in 5 minutes. And my nickname and messange screw. It seems more that just the login/password has been stolen. It seems to happen after I click on a link of the email from my friend. That's happened?

I loaded windows live mesenger. but when I tried to open my account, I got a dialog box asking me to update to the new version of windows live messenger.
The Messenger IM application was withdrawn and merged with Skype. Users will be asked to download and install Skype... If you don't use Messenger, you don't have to download Skype (or install it). If you have been asked to update your account Skype has been updated to it.Your contacts and preferences must be migrated when this happens and you can use your Skype ID or your Live ID account to sign in.Some features of Messenger will continue not in Skype.

Messages bouncing on the update of Windows Live Messenger 2011.
Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem that I can't find any mention of it anywhere else. Basically what happens, is that I'm talking to someone who uses the latest version of XP in Windows Live Messenger 2011, while I use the latest version of Vista/7. Especially, that's fine, but quite often, my messages are suddenly not delivered. I disconnect, then return, find they went offline. I'm still able to get messages to them, but they don't get mine. It's only when they sign out and again in that things get back to normal. But what happens too often for my taste. Only happened with them, since everyone I talk to has a Vista or 7 computer.
Any ideas?

It is Windows Vista or Windows 7, not the Vista/7 version. No, unless you have "dual boot". For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.
