Window Vista freezes on the screen "Please wait", Symantec seems to be the problem have reinstalled but the problem persists

Hi all

My Toshiba Vista laptop hangs at the screen "Please wait" when restarting. I tried the clean boot and reduced to protection services of Symantec Endponit (event and the settings manager and Client Management). I went to the website of symantec and installed the latest version, but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

Also sometimes after you start clean it will normally start with running symantec services and then go back to the gel next time I stop but I haven't worked why/when this happens.

Thank you

Frizzaldo

Hi Frizzaldo,

I'm glad to hear that you were able to find the guilty program causing the problem.

I suggest that you completely remove the computer using the Norton removal tool, and then install the latest version of Norton, check if it works.

Norton removal tool

http://us.Norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docURL=20080710133834EN&LN=en_US

If you are still experiencing problems with Norton, then you will need to contact Norton support to see if there are known problems and no fix available.

http://www.Symantec.com/support/index.jsp

Note: you can also use Microsoft security essentials, but before that, check with Symantec for any fix available

I hope this helps!

  • Windows Vista freezes all the 1-2 hours

It seems that I just discovered a few new problems... :(

I tried to uninstall Skype (the only program that I had recently installed for the startup problems), but my PC gives me the error that Setup of Windows are not accessible... Which means that I can't seem to be able to uninstall it.

Regarding the restoration of the system, I have done several restorations in recent days, but the problems persisted each time (in addition, I also discovered that I can not put of new restorations system manually).

Yes, I ran a registry cleaner in the last days, just before the crash problem has worsened since 2 hours after the start in 5 minutes.

Regarding the driver problem, I went to the site, that you talked about me, and although I discovered how to uninstall tunnel.sys, I found no information as to where I can find this yarn (?) and how to re - install later.

Finally, in regards to Vista, the problem is that I have not received any disc of recovery or installation with my PC and the support of the store that I bought the PC offers no technical support, just to sell me the same version of Windows for about $100...

If you have tried to uninstall in safe mode, it's normal that you can not! If it happens in normal mode then is another problem! So where have you tried to uninstall?

If this has happened in normal mode is done so that you do not disable the service for her!

on the pilot, there is nothing to download just right-click on it in the device manager then choose either update or right click Choose temptation and then on the driver tab click on roll back driver button if it is available! or alternatively unistall it... then restart normal then windows automatically install driver again.

your pc has any recovery tool, to create recovery CDs yourself?

Note: Restoration of factor is a favorable condition of a computer as that set up by the manufacturer of the computer and is specific to the manufacturer. This process will put the computer to its original factory condition, data (and programs that were installed later) on the computer will be lost.

Important: It is recommended to make a backup of your data before performing any Installation of Windows.

    Hi emiquestion:

Long 'check for updates...' crashes and slow window updates are a currently a problem common to many users of Vista SP2 - please see the workaround suggested, I posted yesterday over BluesBlaster WINDOWS VISTA 32-BIT updates.

Note that it is a temporary workaround and updates slow Windows will probably return each Patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of the month) after Microsoft also releases a new batch of updates to security for Vista SP2 and IE9.  Since September 2016 Patch Tuesday updates are published tomorrow (13-Sep-2016), it would be wise to wait a day or two to execute step-by-step instructions posted on June 16, 2016, in m #l's thread of updates does not, he has been looking for updates for hours and save yourself a bit of extra work this month.  Dalai normally updates its list of Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) implemented to date required the same evening that the Patch Tuesday, updates are published by Microsoftto the http://wu.krelay.de/en/ .

  • Remove windows vista without starting the operating system

Hello! IAM using windows vista. Lately, I just figured that the computer has the virus iam so think upgrade to windows7 and I want to remove vista first. Is it possible to remove vista without starting? Sombody help please! Thank you!

    Hello

    1. you must have an operating system to be upgraded; in your case vista

    You cannot delete vista

    2. an upgrade is performed from an operating system of windows in your vista case, unless microsoft advises otherwise; does not apply in your case

solve your problem of malware or clean reinstall vista 1st - then upgrade

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
