Window XP, SP2. Windows Media Player 11 - no image (its ok)

I'm watching a film in format "AVI" using WMP11. I seem to have sound but no picture and just download the most recent copy of WMP. How can I solve this?

I got FFDShow installed for a few years now and never had any problems with it (it's certainly a much better solution than the different codec packs). As FFDShow is able to decode more commonly used codecs, it is quite likely to solve your problem.

If installation of FFDShow does not help, then I suggest you open the AVI file in GSpot and report the video codec that is used in the file, so we can get you direct to the correct download.

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

On Vista there is no option to uninstall Windows media player as the player built into Vista.

Step 1: Check if there is unwanted in the library photo files. To delete the image in media player, try the following steps.
    1. open MediaPlayer.
    2. click on images in the left pane, or click on the Library tab.
    3. check if there are photo files, right-click on the file and click on delete.

Step 2: Check if the problem continues in a new user account.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, then clicking on user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.

  • Windows Media Player 11 on XP SP2 has lost all its music library and will not allow him to add again.

I have the media player 11 and it worked very well.  Yesterday I opened a session and opened it, and there is no music in the library.  Playlists are still there.  I tried to manually add folders to watch. No joy.  When I repeated the procedure for adding, records Analyzer was still empty.  As if I never said what to monitor.

I followed the advice offered in this forum at staceygumbert and followed a link to:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-when-windows-media-player-library-wont-let-you-add-files/.

This notice did not.  Once I deleted the database because it suggests that WMP asks about media sharing.  When I click on the button 'Settings' WMP fails and sends an error report.

If I connect my wife, everything is OK.  I tried to copy its database through my user profile.  No joy.

My Roku Soundbridge can't 'see' libraries.  However I think it's to be expected considering not having WMP does not all libraries.

  • C00D0FF4 error message when you try to share the media in the Player Windows Media Player 11 and Vista Home Premium SP2 64-bit

    Hello
I can't share my media using WMP 11.  When I try to do, opens a window of options asking how I want to share media files (with xbox, other users, etc.), and I select the options and click OK.  Then, when I return in the sharing of multimedia files to see if the media are indeed shared, a window opens informing me "Media sharing has been disabled because a required Windows setting or component has been changed. For any additional help, click Help on the Web. When I click Web help, the error code above, with a few troubshooting not.  You must ensure that Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is turned on.  However, when I get to the list of Services, WMP Network Sharing is not.  It is also a step to confirm the ownership of a registry subkey.  When I try to access the subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME\ [security ID], however, there is no security ID subkey.  Instead of that, by virtue of the MCH, there is a list of "default (name), REG_SZ (type) and not the value (data)".

Suggestions about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.  Would it be useful to simply uninstall WMP and start over?  If so, how to do that?  I saw an obvious way to do it.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
