Windows 10 - Thunderbird isn't always finding network drives when saving attachments

Intermittent failure.
This happens especially if I start Thunderbird without first looking at a network in file Explorer - but not always drive. If the drives are not displayed. He does not even recognize the readers if I get one physically (say E:\ for my NAS box) or click on a shortcut to the reader and tells me that the disc is not available and I should check all physical connections. If I abandon the Thunderbird and use the drrives File Explorer are all there. Ebb in Thunderbird usually find all the readers, so I can save the attachments. Worked fine in W7 is a Thunderbird/W10 issue.

sets the space to the left producing a Horiz scroll bar

Network and Thunderbird readers have a very eventful history. There are still open around bug to save files in the network drives.

That being said
I don't think it sounds like Thunderbird. Looks like widows not opening the connections until after they requested. I would guess that repeated in Thunderbird attempts could also encourage the loading of the network drive.

  • Windows 7 32 bit can not find the driver for printer Photosmart Premium C310a

I recently had an update to the product directly on my printer Photosmart Premium C310a on Internet.  However, this then to Windows 7 (32 bit) to search for a driver for the printer but it could not find a.  If I click on devices and printers, it shows my device from the computer as requiring troubleshooting.  When I click on troubleshooting it signals that "Driver for Photosmart Prem 310 is not installed.  Install the latest version of the driver.  When I applied the fix, it indicates that the driver is not found.

I tried to download the latest driver on the website of HP in various ways, finally to uninstall all HP software displayed in the Panel and then removing all the HP files remaining on my laptop.  I then ran PC Tools Registry Mechanic, disabled my anti-virus, restarted the computer software and reinstalled the complete C310a software on the HP site.  It ended without any problem, and after adding the printer to my list of printer, it is printed on a perfect test page.  However, Device Manager always reports the C310a driver is missing, but it cannot find a copy when it finds one.

How can I convince the device manager that everything is going well (apparently)?

apeace, I recommend you do as you did, uninstall the printer under programs and features but also by ensuring that this printer he is removed from the Manager of peripherals and devices and printers. Then after restarting the computer and by disabling the firewall, download the drivers and software for full adjustment and install them.

You can also run this utility and see if that solves the problem automatically!

  • T400 Windows 7 64 bit can't find printer driver

    Hi all

Maybe someone can help with this confusing problem. Just bought the T400 w/Win 7 64-bit on the Lenovo Web site. That's great, except for one thing.

I have a ThinkPad T22 of Win2k on the network with a port parallel printer HP laserjet 6L and a port USB HP DeskJet 970cxi. When I go to add a printer to the T400, Win7 search on the network and detects printers. For the 6 L have downloaded a driver and it works fine. For the 970cxi, he tries to find a driver MS website but can not find a driver.

When I connect the970cxi printer directly to a USB port on the T400 Win7 it finds a driver and it works fine. But not on the network? Even after he found a pilot when it was connected locally?

The network is a Linux Debian machine that can print on both printers. I turned on printer sharing on this topic. The T400 can find printers in the Linux box and print 6L and 970cxi.

I loaded VirtualBox on the T400 and then install Ubuntu Linux. The Ubunu Linux can find printers and print at the same time.

Nobody knows what the hell is going on here? Why the T400 can not find a driver for the 970cxi printer, but when it is connected directly that he finds the printer driver and works?

Is this a problem with Win7 64 bit?

    No driver available?

    Communication w/printer problem?

Buy a new printer and throw a printer perfectly well?

    Thank you

    Rich

I did as you suggested but now get a different error: 0 x 00000214

I googled this and found others with the same problem. I tried the solution and it worked!

    Here is the link:

    Problem network printer connection

In case the link is broken, I cut and pasted here:

    1. click on start, click on Control Panel and double click on devices and printers.
    2. click on add a printer.
    3. Select "add a local printer.
    4. Select create a new port ". Select "Local Port" as the port type.

    5. in the "Enter a port name" box, type the address in the following format.

\\Network address host computer\ [the share name of the printer

    And then click Next.

    6. choose the driver in the list of drivers. If no driver available, click the Windows Update button, wait the process finishes and then search for the driver again.
    7. complete the installation.

Thank you! Your suggection made me a mistake, that I could identify. And a solution. I hope others find this useful.

  • Cannot get Windows XP Home Edition for a mapped network drive / share on a computer of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I constantly tried to use the "NET USE" syntax to get a Windows XP Home system to keep & share mapped network drive on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit of the system and nothing I tried or worked on ANY blog. I can map the current network through made normal drive right click on 'My computer' and then provide a designation of drive letter with the correct path and have had great success using the function "connect using a different user name." However, even with the box checked to re-connect to the opening of the service is WORTHLESS! I made a lot of attempts to use the Net use syntax to create a batch file to overcome this non-functional raw application. I would really appreciate someone who actually had this issue resolved and work. I have looked at all the Windows files on the XP machine, searched the registry about a possible switch, which could make the necessary changes and have made all necessary changes on the Windows 7 system to accept the mapped network share. Help!

    Hello

Since you have a network with different OS' I hope that Win 7 is configured to run on asnetwork work.

If evry thing is configured properly it can be a problem of how your router keep information network. With the help of Staic DHCP or IP static on computers could help solve the problem.

Just in case you need to reconfigure your network.

    ---------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_name.jpg

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall isactive .

Since you have a network with Win 7 and the other version of Windows, you must configure Windows 7 as work network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

I tried to locate the network adapter driver correct (the wired, not wireless network, which works very well) to Windows 7 for this laptop.

  • Windows 7 x 64 upgrd dv6500z disconnected network drives allow usb drive mapping to the same drive letter

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the readers of network disconnected allowing for new drive usb to their drive letter mappings. I have my laptop dv6500z home with windows 7 Home premium connected to my router wirelessly with a couple of shares of x 64. Now I turned off, trip and start. All right, the drive letters show as disconnected as they should. Now I plug in a USB key and it corresponds to the drive letter of one of the disconnected actions and not a new, unassigned drive letter. In Explorer, there will still be disconnected action description. Click on it and it accesses all my files on the USB key. In admin tools/disk management, the correct label for the USB key is displayed.

So is it a problem of HP or just a problem of Microsoft with Windows 7?

Woody, I was able to replicate that XP is not a bug but a feature. On my laptop, it originally had vista on the c drive and a recovery on the d drive partion. There are about 1 1/2 years I have upgraded Vista to XP. Then recently updated to Windows 7. kept the 3 OS's so I got triple starting capability. Then at home, I added 3 network shares, while I was using a lot of drive letters. When actions are undone, Windows maps a USB key which has not been connected before system one of the disconnected but readers still show in Explorer, the name of the drive on the part of disconnected. However, if the USB is connected to the system before, Windows appears to map a drive letter that he remembered from before.

In my case, Windows 7 has been installed recently, so there is no remebered for my USB drive letter. I was away from home, so I had a lot of disconnected shares. In addition, now that I got a 3rd OS added to the system, I used a lot of letters from the GET go by car. It's much more likely that I would meet this feature after installing Windows 7.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Windows 7 x 4 Can not find Hard Drive

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx. I put in a new hard drive. I can't get Windows 7 x 64 to recognize during the installation. I tried the Intel Chipset drivers on the HP download site for my laptop. I also tried the x 64 drivers from the Intel website: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24293/a08/f6flpy-x64.zip.

I tried with the original hard drive in and Windows 7 does not recognize either.

Any ideas on how to get Windows 7 to recognize the drive?

I understood why Windows 7 does not recognize the hard drive. I tried to install Windows 7 from a USB key. I burned the BONES on a dvd and booted on the dvd and he found the hard drive. It is trying to install Windows 7.

  • I have 2 machines windows 7. I need to map network drive as one of them. the PC is displayed but when I try to connect it asks usename and password, but will not accept them. all solutions?

It is a POS system where a machine acts as a server. 2 machines are on their own network.

When you share the folder on the server, make sure that you set both the regular folder permissions and share permissions (on security and the sharing of the folder properties tabs).  The two sets of permissions must be set to allow access.

  • XPS M1330 can not find network card after reinstalling Windows Vista

    Hi all

I'm passing my computer to a member of his family and wanted to give them a new installation, so I used the disc of Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) shipped with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows tells that there are no available networks. When I chose "Why doesn't windows find all networks" he stated that "this computer doesn't have a wireless network installed and configured card". I put in the Dell driver and Utilities CD that shipped with the computer and installed the drivers which seemed related to networking or communications, but the problem persists. I guess it's some sort of driver problem (as the computer used wireless before the reformat (a few hours ago) and so the device itself seems to work.)

I would greatly appreciate any help to get this race. :)

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

Please share the system model and the operating system installed on your computer?

If you are facing problems with the wireless, you can follow the steps below to check if the drivers are listed as installed in the Device Manager:

    • Press 'Windows' + 'R' key on keyboard.
    • Type "devmgmt.msc" into the box run without quotes.
    • In the Device Manager window, expand network adapters and verify if your wireless card is on the list.

If the wireless driver is not present in the system and is displayed as a network controller in the section other devices with a yellow question mark, you can download the drivers from the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA -> Enter-> the serial number of your system, select the operating system-> expand the category network to download/install wireless drivers

I hope this helps. Please respond to the findings.

    Hi omsaini,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Sorry to hear that you have to connect to a wireless network adapter trouble.

To help you further on this subject, it would have been really helpful for us if you had

mentioned a few details such as:

    (1) is there an error message you get when you try to connect to the internet?
    (2) is the persistent problem with all browsers installed on the machine?
    (3) what is the brand and the type of the network adapter (whether ADSL or an adapter included)?

However, there are a few steps that we can try first:

    a. the following link has a very good tutorial on how to install a network adapter on the computer:
