  Right. You must pass this parameter each time that you start your APEX listener, because, as I intend to clarify before, demand would not have any chance to know where it's home would be if you do not pass this parameter.
  What I wanted to say, is that you must enter configuration (pictures, usernames and passwords) just after the initialization of the base directory, which is the first time you call APEX listener using this path. Later, you can run APEX listener in the background (referring to a proper home directory).

• SBS 2008 backup automatic Wizard fails cannot configure the backup schedule

  I need to install a new drive for backup for SBS 2008.

  The new drive is 3 T. The backup requires 567G.

  The Backup Wizard fails with the message "cannot configure the backup schedule.

  I looked on the MS Support and the only link is related to the target being too small. Although does not here apply.

  The log file indicates that the operation failed because "the critical volumes cannot be excluded", but I included C drive in its entirety. There is a system drive D, but it is not available in the backup configuration.

  Any suggestions?

• Windows 2008 Server NFS - permission denied when accessing the NFS data store

  I'm trying to configure a Windows 2008 Server to store virtual machines on an NFS share.

  When I add the data store to my host, I have no Brown Read-only and the data store is added successfully.

  When I browse the data store, as soon as I try to delete a file or create a folder, I have an error message: "cannot delete" or "cannot complete the file was created.

  It seems to be a problem of rights NFS, but impossible to find what the problem is.

  You must configure the user name mapping in Services for UNIX/NFS and map the root user.  Detailed instructions here: http://www.sohoadvisers.com/tutorials/vmware-esxi/connect-esxi-to-windows-nfs.  I was able to implement some hosts to use my Windows NFS export, but it was a bit unreliable.  This is a configuration not supported with VMware...

  By default, the unit will try to match the incoming calls caller ID to post numbers that you entered for each port in UTIM. Unfortunately, only the caller ID is not reliable. For example, if the unit transfers a call through a trunk or line of JUNCTION and the call is transferred to the unit, we expect to see the port of transfer as caller ID incoming. In this case, we don't want to dismiss the appeal. To handle this, the unit will only reject calls that have caller ID corresponding to a dedicated outdial port (which is a port that is not configured to answer and therefore to transfer calls). So to take full advantage of this feature, you'll want to first configure the outbound ports dedicated for Notification calls, traps and MWI. Then you'll want to make sure that these ports have post numbers entered for them the UTIM. Details of this implementation can be found in CSCdu64641.

  Of course there are always cases where the method above is insufficient. For example, if a call from notification of the unit died in a cell phone that is passed to the caller ID unit original (extension of the unit) may not appear when the transmitted call. In order to take account of cases like this, a new tone-detect basic functionality has been added to 4.0 (4). See the setting "Reject sent Notification DTMF Tone" in the Advanced Settings tool. Unfortunately, this will help with the Notification calls only. Trap the calls that you mentioned won't be affected.

  I recently managed to get bridge network work with a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 guest in VMW Workstation 7.1.4.385536 on a host Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate.

  VirtualBox 4.0.4.70112 is installed on the host and disabling the 'VMware Bridge Protocol' in the 'VirtualBox in Ethernet Adapter"on the host was necessary.

  Outpost Firewall Pro 7.1.0.3415.520.1247 is also installed on the host computer and I used some information from the link below to add some necessary firewall rules.

  Another way is similar to what you posted:

  I suspect that the first way (using ROW_NUMBER) will be faster.
  In addition, the ROW_NUMBER approach is guaranteed to return only 1 line by Department using the approach of GROUP BY, if there is a link on join_date and end_date then it will return all the contenders in this Department. using ROW_NUMBER, it is easy to add expressions to tie-break as much as you want, and, if there is still a tie, it will be arbirarily pick, one lines involved in the tie as #1.

  I am running VMware Workstation V9.0.1 build-894247 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.  I'm trying to install VMware tools on an o/s comments running Windows 2008 Enterprise (Core).  I am able to run the installation (using d:\setup.exe) but the services tools fail on the o/s comments every time.  I uninstalled / reinstalled / repaired several times without a bit of luck.

  It seems that Windows 2008 Core is not explorer.exe, and it is part of the tools dealing with the integration of the unit which does not handle this correctly.

  Try to delete the following file tool to disable the functionality of the unit, and restart Windows:

  C:\Program VMware Tools\plugins\vmusr\unity.dll

  The rest of the functionality of tools such as changing resolution and copy + paste should continue to work even without the Unity plugin.

  I planing building a server to host a few servers to Windows SBS 2008 and perhaps less certain resource hungry VMs, wich I will allow for some of my clients on my network.

  Each VM will have quite a few users, about 4 to 10 users per virtualized SBS 2008.

  The minimum requrement for a normal installation of sbs 2008 is a 64-bit CPU and 4 GB of ram.

  I wonder what kind of material I should look for, and if we run a similar crowd and can give me a few guidelines for material.

  Disk configuration and the e/s flow is going to be your biggest problem. Too bad you can't get the G6, I would even hold off and get a date, or import an If you must, but get a support package in place in case where if hardware problems. The G5 is old enough and a little more, you get much more for your money.

  Not played with Raid 10 really, would seek to Raid 1 for swap and log disks and Raid 5 for o/s and the data on the disks generally.

  The other problem with the G5 is that they provide 4 x 1 GB DIMMS, which are a disposable waste in a server with only 8 slots, the G6 gives you 18 slots in order to get more memory by buying more small bags...! 18 x 2 GB instead of 4 GB and a mixture more is possible...

  32 GB should do you find - you can see how the memory usage Gets and add virtual machines more later and keep an eye on things. I'm tempted to get a quad core now and add another later but closely related memory the CPU you get better ones optimized at the beginning...

  The G5 really limits your options of disc 8 disc, not bad for on all axes but it's SBS VMs not standard we are talking about. Another good reason to ask your dealer gets a G6 in pronto! You can get 300GB 2.5 "drives now for the G5, it's another option...? !
