Windows 2008 R2 64 bit servers with UAG memory leak

We organize two Windows 2008 R2 64 bit with UAG servers.  We note that, during 10-14 days memory begins to run upstairs and users no longer able to connect to OWA through UAG.  We found KB971265 which talks about the memory leak known issues and provides a fix for Vista.  However, we do not find a similar fix for Windows 2008 R2 64 bit.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

  • Slow access to the virtual machine network (Windows 2008 Server 64-bit) Windows 7.

    Hello.

I have a problem when you access files shared on a Windows 2008 Server 64 bits on a client computer to Windows 7. It takes a long time (up to a few minutes) to for example open a Word file from the network share. It is not always, but quite often.

This also happens on two different servers client with almost the same equipment. Which is a basic IBM x 3400 with hard drives in RAID. I disabled the feature of unloading TCP/IP on the network inside the VM card.

Someone has an answer for this? Have I missed something, a configuration perhaps? I'm totally lost here...

I have reinstalled Windows 7 Professional 32-bit service pack 1 on a clean, wipe the hard drive, nothing else than Windows. It enabled and verifies that Microsoft authentic with the MGA tool. Stop the windows firewall and close my routers firewall. I can download Microsoft Security Essentials, to access this web site and all the others so I have web access. I went through all the posts related to windows update and taken EVERY step! Unable to get windows update to update the OS, it returns an error 8007000e.  Two different computers with exactly the same problem a third with Windows 7 64 bit without problem.

    Hello

He was for some time because I used the VMTN forum, I am in need to find the best solution to extend the drive of Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) C:\OS and requires no interruption of service.  I use a lot of options before but seems to be some limitations for requires downtime or 32 bit instead of 64-bit anyone no matter what evidence would be greatly appreciated.

    Options:

    1. use the 2nd virtual machine as aid

    2. use the vmkfstools command line

    3. use the Dell ExtPart tool it of live and uninterrupted, but does not support x 64 bit works very well with 32-bit

    4. use 3rd tools like Partition Magic or other tools (anything I can try using the free trial version would be cool)?

  • Application pools and CF9 64-bit and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit

    Hi all.

    Since about 3 months ago, I got CF9 64-bit running successfully on a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit, and 64-bit PHP server.

It was a few days get it all working happily together, but it's an entirely different discussion, I'm happy to help if someone at - it need help.

My question is for someone with some experience and understanding of the relationship between IIS 7, Cold Fusion and Application Pools.

We have 8 GB of RAM on a 3.2 GHz dual processor box.  And on this particular server, we have about 350 sites of cold fusion.  All sites of very low traffic, I should add.  Like maybe on average 1000 page clicks each day.  In any case these sites ran flawlessly on 2 GB of RAM box with two 1 GHz processors.  And honestly, it ran more surely than it does now.

What role the Application Pools in an environment dedicated to Cold Fusion?

Because only one instance of JRun is already launched, SEE crashes when requests overwhelms the box and it blocks.  So, kind of defeated the purpose of the independent application in my opinion Pools.

During my installation and transfer of these sites, I gave them each their own independent Application Pool, which are now individual instances of IIS worker process, each using about 10 MB of RAM.  Thus, for example, if the interaction that happens with 200 websites that they eat up to 2 GB of RAM, which, although not large, is very well now.  The problem is that I intend to leave this machine reach 500 sites before adding another box, but I worry about the performance.

    FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS:

Should cold fusion Pools of independent applications for each web site or all websites can be used under DefaultAppPool?

And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two options?

Is there a setting I should change who will say active stop w3wp.exe instances if no activity takes place for a certain period of time to release the memory.

    Thanks for any input.

    Rush, the bottom line questions:

Should cold fusion Pools of independent for each web site applications or can

all of these Web sites running under DefaultAppPool?

No, it's not 'need '. They can all run in a pool. It is probably best to split them somehow, so that is something is not bad in a single application pool, at least those of the other application pool still works.

And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two options?

As you note, each application pool uses a little memory. Not much, but as you note, 200 + it adds up. FWIW, the application pool is also part of the connection between IIS and CF, and there are times where just a recycling application pool (rather than restart CF) can solve a problem.

That said, there certainly are times where CF will be what does not, and it won't matter to the application pools how you have. That's really what you want to focus on: why (if ever) SEE becomes is not responding.

Is there a setting I should change who will say active

instances of w3wp.exe to stop if no activity takes place for a certain

    time to release the memory.

It is the default behavior of the application pools. See the "Advanced settings" for each pool in IIS 7 (or for her properties in IIS 6) for the recycling of various parameters of health protection.

To return to your root cause problem (CF becomes unresponsive), anyway, you say "these sites were without fault on 2 GB of RAM box with two 1 GHz processors.  And honestly he ran more surely than it does now. "So what was 'before '? Not just less memory, I guess. He was also 32-bit instead? Was that an earlier version of the CF? It is useful for you to be more specific.

Again, everything that is wrong is an explanation. It looks like you use the CF Server (not multiserver) mode, until you find in the coldfusion9\runtime\logs (not the coldfusion9\logs)? There may be important information before your plant that explains what is happening.

As for your struggles get CF running on IIS 7, I'm curious: was it the 9.0? If Yes, what 9.0.1 (the free updater, which must be installed today on a download of CF9) which supported for IIS 7. Previously, it was indeed a little manual to make work work. And in fact, it may be that an update to version 9.0.1 could help resolve some problems if your manual configuration efforts could have hurt at all.

Hope some of it is useful.

  • Windows 2008 r2 64-bit hangs... on virtualbox...

    Hi all

    I installed Windows 2008 R2 64-bit Enterprise edition, build 7600
    on virtualbox 4.0.0.

the client blocks at different times of the day, and I can't
(actually don't know where to look for problems) find the place where
    the problem is.

While watching the "Event Viewer", it seems than before
the system hangs, there is a registered general kernel event,
indicating that time system has been adjusted.

the last shot, took place a few minutes after the
    is adjusted.

the previous move was produced just after the system time
has been adjusted (in the same minute).

I thought that this may be due to virtualbox zone mechanism,
but I have another windows guest (2003 64 bit) on the
VirtualBox, which does not exhibit this problem.

(in fact, 2003 does not report any time adjustment at all)...

our facilities in different locations (same version of windows
2008 R2 64 bit) do not have this problem, but they are
do not turn on virtualbox; they go directly on the HW.

Anyone who has lived hangs on windows 2008,
If it's due to time adjustments (i
understand that it may not even be adjustments,
events seem to happen quite closely together)...

all tips and the help much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,
    Sam

    Hi Sam,

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums, since it is related to the question on the Server 2008 machine. Appropriate in instances of Windows Server.

  • Reference Dell SC1425 + Windows 2008 R2 64-bit

The server is 64 bit, but when I try to install Windows 2008 R2 64-bit as a customer, the installation tells me that 64-bit is not supported.

What should I do to make this work?

    http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/102302/q-do-VMware-vSphere-and-ESX-4-require-a-64-bit-processor.html

    A. Yes. The latest versions of ESX 4 and vSphere require a 64-bit processor. You also need a processor that supports hardware virtualization (AMD - V or Intel VT) support if you want to run virtual machines (VM) 64-bit. You can run 32-bit virtual machines without hardware-assisted virtualization, but you still need a 64-bit processor.

I don't think that this processor is intel-vt or AMD - V support.

    Hello

I installed ESXi on an IBM ThinkServer TD100x and that you have created two VM, Windows 2003 Std (32 bit) and Windows Server 2008.

Both were works well on the network and the ping requests until I have configure Cisco Channel ether using the road based on the source mac hash. The Windows 2003 VM worked very well and was still on the network, but the Windows 2008 VM loses network connectivity, couldn't out ping.

Are there known issues with Windows 2008 and grouping of NETWORK cards?

You will need to use the hash of the IP with Etherchannel (manual), LACP (static) or 802.3ad (static) trunking.

You have defined 2 separate listeners:
The first is called listener and uses port 1521 which contains the DG4MSQL entry in the SID_LIST_LISTENER. The second listener is called LISTENER_D4GMSQL and is listening on port 1511 - but this listener has no section of SID.

Your tnsnames.ora contains as port 1511, so when you try to use the link data base based on tnsnames.ora alias dg4msql connection is made to the LISTENER_DG$ MSQL (as this one is listening on 1511). But this listener does not have the SID DG4MSQL and so the connection fails.

You can now change your configuration by editing the tnsnames.ora file by ensuring that you use the listening port that serves the DG4MSQL SID:

    dg4msql =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=localhost) (PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = dg4msql))
    (HS = OK)

    # SIDE NOTE: Make sure the LISTENER named listener has been started and serves the SID DG4MSQL

or by modifying your listener.ora file name change
    SID_LIST_LISTENER to SID_LIST_LISTENER_DG4MSQL
Afterwards please, STOP and START the utility LISTENER_DG4MSQL lsnrctl listener.

  • License OEM Windows 7 Professional 32-bit come with downgrade rights to XP Professional?

If I buy a copy of (System Integrator) OEM Windows 7 Professional 32 - bit, does include downgrade rights to Windows XP Pro?

I build essentially the individual PCs for personal use and small businesses; However, I have a client who seeks PCs 35 at point of sale that will have access to a central server.  Although I recommended the use of XP mode in Windows 7, my customer has been informed by its supplier of software that XP Pro is the best option for the current version of the software.

Although I could purchase copies of XP Pro OEM, my concern is that - during the life cycle of these PCs - my client will have to migrate to Windows 7, as new versions of its software point of sale are available.  If possible, I would like the opportunity to buy Windows 7 Professional OEM licenses, installation of XP Pro with downgrade rights and later have the ability to change to Windows 7 without having to purchase new licenses.  Is it an option if I buy Windows 7 Professional OEM licenses?

Also, I need 35 licenses for a single customer, volume licenses would be more cost-effective?  My current Windows 7 Pro OEM or Windows XP Pro OEM price is about $ 150 per license.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Yes, a version of Windows 7 Professional OEM rights to downgrade to Windows XP Professional.  Volume license is not a scheme of licensing "for resale.
