Windows 7 64-bit Adobe Reader 9.3 and IE8 - opening PDF in the tab and then says closing tab causes IE8

I've been running Win7 64 bit for quite awhile now and only up to what a few weeksa go started having problems with Adobe Reader continues to ask me how I wanted to read a document and click here to save the settings, and don't ask me again.  The box has never worked and it will continue to ask me questions constantly everytime I open a new PDF file.

I finally understood how to get rid of the nagging dialog box but now everytime I open a new tab with a PDF file in it and then close the tab, IE8 crashes and tries to pick up the tab.  It's never happened before.

What is the cause and how to fix this?  Please notify.

Upgrade to 9.3 this morning and the problem remains.  Tried to uninstall all traces of Adobe Reader and reinstall but still no dice.

Problem happens also to home on a similar computer running Win 7 64 bit and use an earlier version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

Try this:

Right-click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pop ups upward. Right click again on 'Internet Explorer'. Then left click on "Run as Administrator". I had another problem with the drive and this has solved the problem. The problem I had was that I couldn't save PDFs in IE8. This solves this problem.

I managed to fix it.  I found the Mr. Fix It tool on the Microsoft Web site and who was running, and it worked.  He fixed the corrupted registry file and allowed me to install the player.  I had tried it once before, but it has not been successful.  This time, it worked.

  • Problems with forms created with LC Designer, Adobe Reader 10.1 and Windows 7 7.1

    Hello

I have an application that runs on Flex 3.5 and some xdp created with LC Designer 7.1.

    FRAMEWORK

The application should work in Windows XP and Windows 7.

It allows the user to submit an order and view/print the order confirmation.

The order confirmation is a pdf file generated by a xdp created with LC Designer 7.1 (and a connection via an xml data file).

Some pdf need to display Japanese fonts, others not (let's call them jpPDF and usPDF).

The XP and 7 environments have Japanese fonts installed.

    USING XP

When you use a XP environment, there is no problem to create and display the pdf, the jpPDF and the usPDF. Everything works fine and as expected.

    WITH THE HELP OF 7

When you use a windows environment 7, I have different issues according to the generated pdf:

jpPDF: Adobe Reader tells me that I don't have the fonts installed. When I accept to install the fonts, nothing happens and the pdf file appears completely empty.

usPDF: Adobe Reader tells me that the created pdf file is not compatible with the latest version of Adobe Reader, so I need to upgrade. But I have the latest version available...

Someone of you have encountered similar problems? Is there really something wrong between LC Designer 7.1 and Windows 7?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

    Kind regards

  • I can't get Adobe Reader 9.3.4 as default .pdf

When I double click .pdf it does not open with Adobe Reader (AR). It opens with 8 AR, but wouldn't print from 8. I understand it will print AR 9 and therefore to delete the record AR 8. However, now it will not associate .pdf with AR 9. I understand the simple trick of a right click 'open with... '. "and the navigation or by selecting Adobe Reader. I found the Adobe Reader .exe file and when I click it, it isn't select in default programs or in the "other programs".

I am able to open AR 9 and locate the file and open it manually.

I am running Windows 7 32-bit with Adobe Reader 9.3.4. Cannot be positively sure I actually deleted all AR 8. Thanks for the help.

PS Please reduce the jargon. I'm semi-ordinateur but savvy to be sure...

Aplogies to provide a solution focused on XP instead of a Win7-centric one. As I said earlier, the program you are pointing to is not saved correctly.

You can get the same results I described earlier by following registry changes.

    1. in regedit: go to Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications and find your .exe name. (something like AcroRd32.exe)

    2. navigate under its name of shell > open > command. By default, change its location to the actual location of the executable file (after ensuring that there are quotation marks around the location of the executable), press OK and then try and reassociate the file type as you normally would.

In all probability, your location for the executable file contains a space between the two, and the quotes are required to properly associate the path to the EXE file.

If all goes well, it should work...

FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial

If you could play before commercial video DVD...
do a system restore to a time before this started

Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

Or... you can try to download and install one of the

  • Adobe Reader 11 (XI) will not open the file via command line

    Hello

I posted this question probably inappropriate topic earlier today, so I am repeating again.

I installed the new Adobe Reader XI today and when I tried to open some PDFs via command line, it reported a syntax error. Now, this syntax worked so far on versions 9 and 10 (I checked today with them and it does not), so my question is - where can I find new syntax, if there are? Google search did not help. Or what else could go wrong?

In previous versions, I was able to open the pdf file (on page 5) like this (everything was taken from the help file 'Open settings')

    «Page "/A" CompletePathToAdobeReader = "CompletePathToPDF", 5"»

    That is to say

    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader.

but now - not that it opens a specific page, but it won't open the file at all.

    Edit:

Operating systems: Windows 7, Windows XP

    Thank you.

Yes, he has correctly reported because there is a syntax error in your order. Try spaces between the /A switch and open the setting. Try this:

    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader" /A "page = 5" "d:\V2\DataSheet.pdf" "."

    I hope this helps.

    Sumit-
