Windows 7 blocking upwards from time to time

I beleave that there is a problem in my WINDOWS 7 (OS) from time to time the computer hangs just to the top and the only way to get it going again once is to turn it off and restart the computer.  When this happens and I restart the computer need me always to the selection of window screen and I always just restart the computer and things are fine until HE is ONCE again and the one here help me.  because when the OS crashes, I lose everything I was working at the time.

When this happens (when the computer is idle for a period of time or that you are working on)?

This happens when you do something in particular or it occurs randomly?

You can check in the event viewer to see if an application is causing the problem.

To open Event Viewer

1. click on the Start button.

2. click on Control Panel.

3. go to the system and security.

4. Select Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You can also try to put the computer to boot and check if all background programs is causing this issue. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The steps to perform a clean boot are given below:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

 

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

Once you start office check if the problem persists, follow the steps in the article and find out which program is causing the problem.

    I use Windows 7 Enterprise edition Lenovo y 500 laptop. System crashes from time to time. Sometimes it freezes when you type in word / excel...     I have a little problem with my Portege M400 Tablet PC. The laptop runs great most of the time.     Recently, my computer started to glitch during playback of videos and sometimes even in music.  When the video is full-screen every minute half-minute or so it will freeze for a few seconds, causing the audio quickly repeating sound like a 'd.d.d.d.d.d.d' that lasts a few seconds and then play the movie as usual.  When I reduce the video so it does not have the full screen it time very well provided that this is under a certain size.  When this product problem however it freezes the computer as even the mouse still motionless and then jump to a new location once the computer resumes.  I don't think that this is a problem with the CPU or everything that I tried to run several large programs and max on the CPU and it won't.  Sometimes, it will however while that a video youtube as well.  I checked my card graph and other drivers and they are all up to date, the only thing I found which could be the cause is Health Center says Windows "Intel Graphics Driver has stopped working" I tried using the problem solver is but there is not a solution for this and I reinstalled the drivers anyway and he's always done.  I don't know if this is the problem or not, however, like the date, he says that this problem has occurred does not correspond with me trying it to watch videos.  I would also like to add that this problem happens more frequently when I watch the movie then using VLC with windows media player.  A movie on VLC, I played was actually almost constantly, while Windows Media Player played the film very well.  Although, as I said, Windows Media Player still does from time to time as well and I tried reinstalling VLC and loaded a completely new player to see if it was her and she is always natural.  I have not downloaded programs that I could create a conflict either.  In any case, I'm at a loss and if this problem is not indeed my computer use normal it doesn't stop me from watching movies I really love so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
