Windows 7 calculator crashed - No Way to restore

Recently, I got my Windows 7 Calculator (calc.exe) go crazy mad. The bottom has become transparent and all numerical values repeat and are unreadable.

For example, press '1', you get '1' in the right column, then press '2', '1' moves to the left and you can see '1' and '2' superimposed in the first position, then press '3' and '1' moves left, "1 | 2 "moves left and ' 1 '. 2. 3 "are superimposed in the first position. It is a total mess and occurs at all types of Calculator Standard, science, programmer, statistics.

You can delete/ClearEntry / = or even sense the final calculation.  If you minimize the window after each press of button, it behaves as it should (except the background is transparent).  I do not use Aero, all video pilots themes, including the NVIDIA are the most common.

I just want to know how to restore the calculator to the State of origin.  There is no option in Windows features to do, nor can you simply replace calc.exe from a known working system (permissions are blocked).

Congratulations on setting and thanks for posting the solution to the underlying problem.

'Appropriate' as described in my previous post will allow you to rename, move, or manipulate system files which, by default, are "owned" by "TrustedInstaller".  You must be very careful when you do this, however.

KB2454826 was fired shortly after its initial release, January 11, 2011. Revised (for example, fixed) versions of KB2454826 have been re-published February 8, 2011.

NB: KB2454826 is an update Important/recommended, it's always an option, not the security update (from this edition). That being said, we now know that KB2454826 is a prerequisite for the update for IE9. As it will probably be a prerequisite update for SP1 of Win7, too, you probably don't want to hide.

    Any help appreciated. Thank you

    You are welcome.

How about that.  Don't you love it when a plan comes together?  Windows updates only or material for pilots also and then update windows is good, but for a more broad ability of other applications Microsoft, then Microsoft Update and Office update is good for a shopping for updates of every Microsoft product you have.

You suppose wrongly, and I thought I answered this before.  Technically, you can re-enable the automatic updates but that will require you disabling updates every Monday just before black Tuesday and then manually download and install the cumulative security update newly released and restart before you activate the updates automatic (or notifications only) once more.  It is more reliable just disable automatic updates and do not have the headache.  Disable the horse of notification that is displayed in the status bar, and that you don't mind.

Please mark this thread as a response.  Thank you.

To not argue the point, but XP users required the kind of brilliant 'support' who gave XP since the time of the IE7 to IE8 'false upgrade' users XP need like a hole in the head.

I lost my recovery for windows Vista disk. How can I restore the computer to its original factory State? I can't find how to create recovery discs, I did not have this option in the Recovery Manager

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hello

Once removed the HDD data can't be recovered. However, you can use your favorite search engine to browse third-party data recovery software and use this software to recover data.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Windows 7 / Vista crashed and I can't format

    Hello

I bought my computer (a Dell Vostro s 220) a few years ago (I think it's in 2008 or 9) and it never gave me any problems until now. I played a game and all of a sudden got weird screen, the collapsed computer and the blue screen appeared telling me to restart my computer or talk with the support team. Well, I restarted my computer and, since I was already planing of the to do, I decided to make a backup of my files to format my PC (I also think it might be a virus).
Unfortunately, he crashed again during my backup and I couldn't restart this time (the blue screen appears before that my computer has finished starting). Then I went into settings on the home screen and configured to start with the CD, and then I put my copy of Windows inside it reinstal. but he could not reach the part of the installation.
Three things could happen with us: it would stop working on counting for me to press any key to start the installation or it would allow me to press a button, but it does not recognize my code of Windows or it would stop working after I pressed the button.
I decided to sleep, because it was getting late and when I woke up, I tried once more and this time I could access the screen where you partitionate the disc so that I could start the Windows installation. During installation, he says it could restart the computer several times so I went to have breakfast. When I went back to my room the blue screen was there again... I think it happened on one of the restarts or over time. But I don't undestand, I cleaned the disc completely in the part of the score before the instalation started so why would it crash yet (if it was a virus)? And I open my CPU and everything seemed fine to me even if I'm not an expert in this area. Now, I'm back again and this time my computer has no BONES.
    Thanks in advance
PS: I bought my computer on a promotion of Dell where I'd buy a Vista and they would give me later a 7 when it is released, what happened, but because of that, it seems to me that I must reinstal Vista and then reinstal 7. In any case I can't do. Also Dell does not by default Windows CD, it gives a they do instead so that they can put their own thing (because the computer is partially predefined by the buyer), but the intallation of Windows is exactly the same as normal or at least it should be. Also, sorry for my bad English is not my mother tongue.

    Just answer:

    1. No, I have not any change on my system before the issue, at least not directly with me aware.
    2. I couldn't see if there was an error code, now that you said I think it would have been a good idea if there is a.
    3. I used to play Civilization V, for some reason any this game asked almost 100% of the CPU performance, I think that might have been a problem as well.
    4. to backup nothing specific happened, it just crashed again and I couldn't finish the PC more, the error appears again.
5 no, I can't start in safe mode, I was able to uninstall Windows, but cannot reinstal it now, the computer always plant the ways I already said.
Well, thank you for the help, but I think it's too late for that now, I have to reinstal Windows but there is no way to do it now. The problem is probably with little material, I'll have to take my computer to a technician here.
    Thank you once again

  • Is there a way to restore the system to factory setting

    Original title: Reinstalling windows

I would like to restore or reinstall the system on my computer because my computer appears to be infected with the virus and there are a lot of problem with the system as impossible to install net framework. I have never create any point before restoration, and the recovery of the manufacturing company (Acer) tool does not work for reasons unknown. I would like to know if there is a way to restore the system to factory setting. And also, if I have the windows 7 key product that comes with this computer (I think that its probably an OEM product key), what I have to buy a new key of product if I reinstall windows 7 on this computer?

    Thank you for your reply,

However, I tried with the Acer eRecovery Management and there are two problems:

    • I open Acer eRecovery than Management with System Manager. When I click on restore or create Factory default disc, it says please wait and there is an infinite loading.
    • Also, when I use Alt + F10 to open, it says please complete operating system configuration process.

Scores of recovery and/or access to them can get damaged.

As the partition recovery is photographed on the hard drive by Acer in the manufacture of your machine, we have nothing to do with changing/fixing this recovery process once there are problems with it.

As you have a preinstalled OEM license (Acer, Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

But Acer does not normally keep recovery disks for you to buy for older operating systems, so it comes down to borrow the exact same edition of Windows 7 DVD to a friend, etc. and by using the product key on the COA sticker on your machine.

This is what looks like a sticker of COS:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

  • Cannot repair the photo library. The best way to restore from iCloud library?

The photo library of the system is damaged and cannot be repaired.

It is said "Photos has attempted to repair the library"Pictures Library 2015 ", but can not open it." .

I first met problems with this library a week before and at the time where I could repair and open the library successfully, but lacked a month value of photos.

Given that it was successfully in the iCloud library, I left it to re - sync - but this process suspended several times before the end, and the photo library of the system now seems to be permanently damaged.

I have no project of marked or impression of faces in the photo library of the system, then I would be happy just to restore from iCloud.

My plan is to put in place a new - empty - library and then that designate the library of the system.

If I understand this right, the new (empty) system Photo library will now resynchronize with iCloud and will copy all the contents of this library of back to my Mac.

Is this correct? It is the most effective way to restore my library?

And while I'm here - what is the best way to manage a very large library? I had my photo library become corrupted ten three or four times over the past years and have found it necessary to divide into single years to prevent this. I overlooked this piece of household by the end of 2015, and now it's happened again... Surely, there must be an easier way to manage libraries of images of several years?

Is this correct? It is the most effective way to restore my library?

Yes, if you don't have a useful upward on your Mac.

How do you call a large library, I've never had a corrupt Library, I think that your problems are not the result of the size of the library, but rather something else. From my experience it is recommended to maintain a local upward, I use Time machine, but also have a second to the top using a third-party backup solution.
