Windows 7 - cannot find / or install an update

It has been a few days that Windows 7 keeps reminding me of an important update, but when I try to see it, it's empty. I checked for new updates see that if something happens, done anything yet. There is only this one important update with no info about it. Someone there with the same problem? Someone knows how to solve?

Windows Installer keeps trying to install an update for Paint Shop Photo Album, which is no longer available. How he remove without disabling the windows installer? I installed v4.5 installer that allows enabling or disabling updates. Paint Shop appears but the box is not checked, so the installer must ignore, right?

Using msconfig, I can find nothing in startup or services that will completely eliminate the problem, Evin with instaler disabled, Setup window will start to blink during boot computer has been scanned and cleaned with Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpy and Spybot. \

There is a key in registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\ referring to it.

If you have uninstalled Paint Shop Photo Album, you might see if running free Revo Uninstaller is able to get rid of leftovers that could cause problems.

I ran the suggestion to start installing from a command using D:/setup.exe /tempdrive:c window - it did not work.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to perform this upgrade?

    Try these suggestions:

    6. run the upgrade to windows 7.

Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade.  You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.

  • Windows Update will not find or install the updates

I turned on my laptop last night after several months of inactivity, and when I ran Windows Update I met an interesting problem. Windows Update took a long time to look so I decided to let it run all night. When I checked on this subject in the morning, Windows Update has been always looking, but I had already received a notification in the taskbar informing me that there are updates available.

I could not cancel the search, so I restarted my laptop, and when I logged Windows again, I saw the list of the updates that are available even if the "last check for updates" was always showing "22/05/2016 at 22:46. I selected all important updates and tried to download and install them, but after several hours, the status was still stuck at 0%. I canceled the installation and noticed that the update of Silverlight has been downloaded and ready to be installed. I tried to update only one without success and was finally able to get it by allowing Windows Installer updates immediately before the power off of the laptop. When I turned my phone back and connected, I could do the same for an update of the framework.

So far, those who have been the only two updates to cross, and I could not download or install the rest. An additional problem is that my Windows Update always displays a prompt stating "Windows 10 upgrade booked" despite the deadline passing on the free update. When I see the confirmation, I get a popup Windows 10 stating that the offer has ended. I don't know if this is related to why Windows Update does not work, but I saw more guests for 10 Windows on my main computer once the delay.

Other things I've tried are to update manually the time at the time of Microsoft servers and try to download and install the updates one at a time, but neither contributed to the situation. In addition, Microsoft Security Essentials apparently downloaded and installed the latest definition files on its own, so it would seem that the problem is only related to Windows Update.

I've attached screenshots of my Windows Update history and update. Any help would be appreciated.

Could someone tell me please how to fix this? Thanks x

    Hello

I think the value of the option SATA AHCI and hence Windows XP mode cannot find the HARD drive.
It's because of the SATA controller.
You can set the SATA AHCI compatible mode mode mode and this will allow you to install Win XP on the laptop without the use of SATA drivers.

So, you have two options if you want to install Win XP:

-> AHCI mode, but you must include the SATA drivers
Compatible mode-> Win XP installation possible without SATA drivers

  • Impossible to rename files in Windows 7 "cannot find this item.

Since the last batch of updates of Windows 7 (KB915597, KB3179573, KB3115475, KB3177723 and KB915597), suddenly I am completely impossible to rename the folders, even newly created. When I try, I'm greeted by an error message indicating:

    "Cannot find this article.

It is no longer in [location of the folder]. Check the location of the item and try again. »

I clearly see that the file has not changed, and hit the "Try" button again makes the error message disappears for a split second before returning again.

I am sure that no recent updates is responsible and this uninstallation of the update should solve the problem, but I don't know enough about them to 99.99969999503% (or how exactly the origin of the problem) to determine what. No one knows that one is?

  • Windows Installer cannot find the "Crusher".

The first message appears usually when I try to start a program or shut down the computer, 'Shredder.  Error 1706.  Valid any source not found for the mill product.  Windows Installer cannot continue. "If I click OK it starts a series of Wintows with"Please wait while we configure Shredder. "Come then:"the component you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or another removable disk that is not available.  Insert the disc of "Destroyer" and click OK. "(I have no such disc.)  and "the path '1' is not found."  It's the bottom of the rabbit hole and I click on CANCEL.  No harm, no fault.  I learned to, click CANCEL has the first appearance of this embarrassing sequence of messages and as if I knew what I was doing.

If someone out there REALLY knows how to "fix" this?

    Proudcon.

Its caused by a third party utility that you have installed, possibly a maintenance utility
