could not check for updates automatically
has got an important message indicating that the system was unable to automatically check updates
You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:
How to reset the Windows Update components
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

Hello
1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?
2 Norton (another) or a McAfee application ever installed on this machine?
3. What are the fix applications that you used so far to try to fix this problem?
Try the next method and check if that helps you with the question of the 127 error you receive.
Method 1: Rdding the DLL file by doing the following:
1. Click Start and click Run, in the search box type CMD and press to enter.
2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator".
3. type the following command and press ENTER. Regsvr32 msvcp71.dll
4. close the command prompt window.Method 2: run the file system (CFS) Checker:
(Note: you need an XP installation disk to start the System File Checker search.)
The SFC command is used to detect and resolve problems with the files on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. This command allows you to launch the Windows File Protection Service and allows you to analyze all integrity-protected Windows files and replace all problematic files identified.
1. click on start, and in the box to start, search type CMD
2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator"
3. type the following command and press ENTER. Sfc/scannow
4. close the command prompt window. For more information on scan SFC (System File Checker), please look in the link mentioned below.

I could not install the update KB2686509 for Widows XP Pro, for the last 6 months. WHY?
Maybe check the related threads and see why others also had problems with this update:
especially this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/kb2686509-repeatedly-fails-with-error-code/0deeacb6-115c-419d-ac37-03ff8927b79c
That should answer your question about why you have a problem installing the update.

I can't get Firefox Beta 5 to check the updates using an account without administrator privileges. Beta version of Firefox 5 downloaded an update (from 2 Beta Beta 3), and now, there's a button apply update in the Firefox window that won't hurt, even though the update is properly applied from another account with administrator privileges.
I use Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. In general, I use Firefox for an account without administrator privileges and provide the only administrator credentials when you are prompted to install or remove software.
Delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.
You may need to remove active - update.xml and updates.xml so, if it is present.C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)

I'm running Windows 7, Home Premium edition, 64-bit and using IE 11. Windows Update stop working, so after trying all the fixes recommended, I reinstalled Windows 7 thinking that would solve the problem. I looked in the registry editor and Windows Update keys aren't there.
