Windows 7 custom deployment of a Multi HARD Disk Image

Hallo

We have about 100 new jobs arriving (it's a college with network of course) and I send an image HDD for the seller
in order to clone this HARD drive to each new computer, so when they come here they must be connected and powered
and the image from HARD disk to look for to deploy.
We have windows 7 Professional, we have customized it and syspreped Generlized + stop and removed the HARD drive.
My question is, is the right way to do it?  last time we have to many computers got the "not authentic" and could not be activated with kms server.
I remember reading about a specific procedure, you need to do before sending your image HDD for cloning but can't find it
any help would be
Thank you

  • Move from Vista to Windows 7 AND transfer on a different hard disk operating system

I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit and in the same movement of time the OS Vista Home Premium 32-bit & a Seagate 80 GB HARD drive to two 250 GB hard drives in a RAID configuration. I intend to replace the 80 GB HARD disk with a faster drive Windows XP, so I find myself with a dual-boot system.  Apart from the exchange of small hard drives, the system will be unchanged compared to when I activated Vista.  Since it seems I have to reinstall all the programs on W7 in any case (damn and the breath), I wonder if it will be necessary (for reasons of product activation) or useful (for operational reasons) to first clone Vista to the larger players. I am aware that Seagate provides cloning software, also free that 250 GB seems a little bit today - but he will do well while this PC is still working. In case it is relevant, the Vista is OEM (I built the PC and I bought Vista with the motherboard), but I will get the retail version of Windows 7.  Most experts with thanks...

    Hello

We cannot move the operating system from one hard disk to another. However, we can install the operating system on another hard drive or take the whole operating system if necessary system image backup.
NOTE: You'll have to do a custom Setup to upgrade to the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
Windows Backup gives you the opportunity to create a system image, which is an exact image of a disk. A system image includes Windows and your control panel, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working. When you restore your computer from a system image, it's a complete restoration; You cannot choose to restore individual items and all of your current programs, Control Panel, and the files are overwritten.

  • Re: How to install Windows from a recovery on a new hard disk media?

Immediately after a Windows Update, my computer will not re-start. It says disk error.

I could not start it from the recovery media and F8 would not work. I bought and installed a new hard drive. Now, when I put in the recovery media to install Windows on the new drive, it gives an error message.

What this may be? Would I be able to install Windows from the recovery media?

    Hello

In General, you can install Recovery on each compatible HARD drive image so you should not be a problem in this regard.

Please tell us what happens when you start installation of recovery. What error message?

New HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS. Before you begin installation of recovery BIOS default value.

Vista/xp have already installed software to transfer the BONES of one HD to another, if youre pc is

a desktop computer, it's fairly easy. Or, install a new HD to the pc boot, enter the BIOS, install the vista installation cd,

set pc to boot from the cd (1st boot priority) 2nd HD, save and exit. The installation menu to display, follow

instructions, select 'format' of the HD and windows will automatically install.

Or 2nd HD, installing under windows, go in run, type: diskmgmt.msc in msc, R.click on the new hard drive, create a

partition, use the default settings in the wizard, once thru, re-click, select to format, once through exit msc.

Back to run, type: XCOPY C:\*.* D:\/c/h/e/k/r are for everyone in the DOS window, once its through, the new

HD has the old operating system installed. D: is the letter of new HD, if, in light of the others, then use instead... It works

very well, but with a hard drive faulty, data could not get transferred, or it may be damaged...

    ·        Did you do a clean install of Windows Vista without formatting?

    ·        How many letters pilot are there on the system, for example C:\, D:\?

    ·        The number of records your C:\ drive?

Open C:\ drive and select all the files that are present and check what size is (of all files). Let us know the size.

If you did a clean installation without formatting then, it may be a folder named windows.old. If you have the folder on the system, then follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

    Hi sabsarh,

If the hardware supports it, a basic input/output system (BIOS) password can be defined by preventing changes to the boot device prevents booting from removable media. Combined with physical security locks to prevent the hardware changes, it should help to prevent unauthorized access.

You may need to contact the manufacturer or refer to the manual for assistance with the BIOS settings.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2011 either Migrate Easy 7.0

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage/

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/MigrateEasy/

If you buy the Seagate hard drive retail box version, a copy of Acronis should be included, it can be used only with their readers, or you can download it from the Web of Seagate website, you will also find that other hard drive manufacturers have their own free cloning software available.

First, install the new drive as the secondary image, the exsisting C: / for her.

Immediately stop the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

  • Cannot create custom on the dv4-1318tu HARD disk partitions

I have the model of HP dv4-1318tu, which have 320 HARD drive. The hard drive has only two partitions (factory settings) are C280 GB) and another D20 GB), which is taken * beep *.

But I want to recreate the so-called partitions C (60 GB), D (120 GB), E (120 GB) etc. So I tried to recreate the partitions, but all the time it takes to factory settings. No option can't change/remove partitions.

I also tried to create the partition in disk management, but only 20 GB (factory settings D is coming in the shrink option)

NB. My OS is Vista Home Premium. So, how do I create partitions of customs?

    Thanks a lot guys.

After you have reinstalled the operating system with the settings I could reduce the disc 50% C.

    So now, the scenarios are:

    C drive 140 GB

    80 GB of disk D

    E disk 80 GB

I think Yes drive C use unnecessary additional 80 GB and I can't shrink the C drive too.

    What should I do?

    Hello

I ve checked specification for your laptop and it says that your laptop has been delivered with the 64-bit version only.
    > For some reason, she came back to 32-bit.
Something like this is NOT possible. You can have the 32-bit version only if a 32-bit version using Microsoft OS installation (clean OS install). Best evidence missing original 64-bit recovery image.

Check "include permissions inheritable" AND "replace all permissions of the child".

    Work done :)
