Windows 7 does not recognize FAT32 formatted devices / Windows asks you to format a USB device in FAT32

I have a question about Windows recognizes only not USB devices formatted in FAT32.

The biggest symptom is Windows asking to format any device that has FAT32 (indicates RAW file format in disk management. The format will fail unless NTFS is used (which is unacceptable for the SD cards used in cameras, etc.).

I have a Toshiba Satellite P755 with USB 3 port and three USB 2 ports, running under Windows 7 64-bit. Type computer apparently and for most device type is not relevant to this subject after doing some extensive research.

1. I tried SFC / SCANNOW with no result

2. I uninstalled all the USB drivers and drivers of devices on SD card with no result

3. I created a new profile and flies over my files with no result

4. I searched the net and found a plethora of people having the same problem on several versions of Windows but not confirmed of the solution.

5. I tried the fix for troubleshooting of hardware from Microsoft with no result.

The devices I've used are pen drives, to several types of SD cards flash drives and external hard drives. These devices are confirmed to work on several other computers configurations in different windows. When formatted in NTFS all works but like I already said, SD cards will not work in the cameras etc. to NTFS.

I think that the computer of wiping and again is not the problem. After researching, I discovered this problem has been around for many years and followed by Windows XP throughout Windows 8 forums and blogs that I read. I'm surprised Microsoft doesn't have a fix for this yet.

Hello and sorry for the delay.

I tried this before with the same results. My pen drives and large SD card worked until the problem occurred. Windows 7 has lost the ability to recognize the FAT32 devices.

I think I found the problem, however. My USB key must have failed in some way. After checking all my media work properly on a free desktop running windows 7 64, I jumped into a thumb sansa player and that's when I started having errors on this computer as well. This time, no data survived.

I went back to my laptop and formatted by a new copy of windows Professional 64-bit. The laptop works great and recognizes all FAT32 media I throw at it. I do not use the USB key suspect for fear that it might cause problems again.

And so far so good a few weeks later. Everything works great. I used FAT32 media without any problem. I'm sure it was the reader. I guess that he worked at masked the fact that it was the cause of the problems. Strange that this would produce windows FAT32 to reject.

  • Windows does not recognize iPhone/iPod devices

I tried to add music to a new iTunes library to my iPhone on my pc when I accidentally pressed the notification "do not trust this computer."

I tried following the advice in this thread (removed the pilot): I accidentally hit "Do not trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust him again even when I restart everything. Now what?

And now my computer does not recognize my iPod or my iPhone when I plug it into the USB ports. They don't even charge. I know with certainty that the problem comes from my pc because when I plugged them both in another pc, Lesmanteaux both able to connect to the computer/iTunes. I tried restarting both devices, tried resetting the location and privacy, by restarting the computer, even performed a system recovery.

When I go to "Devices and printers", the two devices are listed under Unspecified, Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, unknown category, troubleshooting needs (I tried that as well, when I do that it is said that all driver software is up-to-date)

Driver status: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

All my software is up to date (iPhone, iPod Nano, Itunes 12.1. (2. 27 64-bit)

Please help me, I've got a flight tomorrow and all I wanted was to upload music.

Have you tried using different USB ports? Try and see if it triggers the question "confidence." You can also give your iPod a restart is forced. Press the sleep and home for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver Apple, let go and let it reboot, then try again.

If this does not work you can try something a bit more drastic. That's a lot of time, but not horrible. I had to do a few times with my devices and my computer.

Try this, go to your control panel, add/remove programs.

Remove iTunes (you won't lose any content not the program, I've done a few times), Mobile Apple, Apple Application Support device driver.

For good measure, you can restart your computer just to remove the cobwebs.

Then come out and redownload iTunes and reinstall it.

Plug your iPod in and drivers must be reinstalled.

All of your old info should be there. I've never lost anything. Essentially to remove iTunes and drivers have to reinstall fees, which can remove the obstacle 'I don't trust you. "

  • Windows XP does not recognize the iPhone - device not recognized error

I am running Windows XP (SP2 I believe) and whenever I plug in my iPhone I get the error not recognized USB device. If iTunes does not recognize it and I can't sync. My guess is that I'm missing or have an updated driver, but I don't know how to install. If it makes a difference, I am using a brand new MacBook Pro and Windows XP via Parallels Desktop. I don't think it's the question, though, as I used to be able to sync with my Manager (ACT!) contacts via Outlook. It seems to be simply a function of Windows is not able to identify the iPhone via USB. A simple solution would be appreciated, but I'll take complicated if that's all that's available.

    Hello abogadopeter,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

This question has been a known issue that seems by Parallels. I did some research and read through some of the threads for workarounds. He doesn't seem to be a conclusive solution, but works to some extent. You can take a look at http://forum.parallels.com/search.php and simply search for ipod and look through some of these institutions.

  • Windows does not recognize the iPod device

installs of XP | Files, folders & storage>

    Windows 7 Pro.

My iPod Touch will contact the iTunes computer software, but the computer won't recognize as a device, so pictures and videos cannot be transferred back through Explorer or software with call Explorer.

A Google search seems to suggest that many face the same problem, but none of the proposed fixes work.  Device Manager or Explorer does not show the iPod.

Oddly, this function worked at one point and there are several pictures and videos to the iPod, but now they cannot be removed or add others.

I think that it is essentially a problem of iPod, but I hope that help Windows will help me solve the problem.

I will move this thread to the neighborhood where you posted for the region of Windows 7, but if the following does not help, you should probably ask your question in Apple's iTunes for--> https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows in the Windows XP forum

It seems to me that if the driver for the iPod is not installed or is corrupted.  It may seem like overkill, but I suggest to remove completely all Apple software and then put it back.  This should not affect your iTunes library (music, etc.), but it is always prudent to make a backup before doing anything like that.

  • Satellite L300 - Windows does not recognize the connected device

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 series, PSLB8E. It came with a basic version of vista pre-installed window and it was working fine until I decided to update.

I took it to a computer for an upgrade store to ultimate window.
This version worked very well for a few weeks until I have received a message on the screen that says: 'I have to get a genuine copy of windows.

Because ever since I started having problems with my usb ports, my computer couldn't detect something I connect to it (usb, printer, mouse, etc.) he worked with modem only, sometimes it would open my external hard drive but it does not have its drivers.

I then decided to buy a window 7 home base, but instead of this problem will disappear, that it got worse as my usb ports completely stopped working.

I tried all the stuff I can think, but nothing has worked. the problem I have is that I don't have the original disc in Windows vista

    Someone please help!

I agree: installing drivers for Windows 7 is very important to get all devices work correctly. Windows 7 is much better than Vista OS and I don't see any reasons why your L300 Sat should not work properly with this Win 7 OS.

I recommend you to install the Windows 7 system again by install completely clean.
After that, download all drivers Toshiba Win 7 of the Toshiba UE driver page.

Very important are the drivers as value added package, Chip Set Utility, card reader controller, display driver, LAN driver, WLan, Sound Driver, Storage Manager and driver of the touchpad

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the external hard drive on another USB port?

Try to connect the WD external hard drive on another computer.

    Follow these steps:

Method 1: You can run the troubleshooter in the following article and see if this fits the Bill.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

Method 2: Check if the external hard drive is recognized in disk management and assign a drive letter to the same.

To open disk management, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, type disk management in the start search box and press enter.

    (b) if the drive is detected in disk management, I suggest you to assign a drive letter and see if that does the trick.

  • Store does not recognize my administrator user account when you try to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows

I bought an Inspiron 17 7737 directly from dell.com on 05/12/2013.  It was delivered 12/182013.  The operating system was Windows 8.  I had assumed that he would have the last version of Windows when it has happened since 8.1 was released in October. I opened the app Store and the Windows 8.1 upgrade was not available for me.  I realized it was one problem for others and that he has not pursued further at that time.  I was out of town for 2 weeks in January and has not used the laptop during this 2 week period.  When I got home, I opened the store and found placed prominently on the invitation to the free update to 8.1. I signed up using the administrator account and when I hit the download button for 8.1. I received the message "You must use an account with administrator privileges to install Windows 8.1, try connecting with the user of an administrator on this PC account and try the update again".  I checked my account has administrator privileges and tried again and got the same message. I created another user account and gives privileges to administrator and try the download again signed on this account and received the same message.  I called technical support and for more than 5 hours on 2 different days, the technician tried to solve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows updates. When that has not resolved the problem, it "refreshed" my PC which I understood to be given to the State at the time of delivery. He had to do all the Windows (about 65) updates and tried to re-download 8.1.  This does not change the error message when you try to download at 8.1.  At that time, I was told that they were raising a technical team that search every newspaper in my machine and find a solution.  They said they'd call me at the time where there is a solution. Although my administrator account has not been recognized during an attempt to make the download 8.1, it acknowledged the role of the administrator when the technician needed administrative approval to all uninstall and reinstall activities in trying to solve the problem.

Everyone knows about this problem?  It is resolved, and if so, how is it resolved?

You are not alone. Many have had the same problem with no resolution. I think there's something funny to do with user accounts. Making a second account with admin privleges does not work. I would try to reinstall the operating system of hidden image and try again. A refresh like tried Dell will not do because it retains much of the data before the update; you need a clean start. Do nothing witht the account Admin other than to let Windows put up and set your password. All updates must be installed before the upgrade is displayed in the store. I have improved five facilities to win 8 and have had zero problems.

  • MacBook Pro 2010 does not recognize the (formatted) SSD

    Hello

I saw a lot of topics on it and did some background reading. But in short, a 13 "middle MBP 2010 is simply show folder-question mark icon when starting after having inserted a 850 EVO Samsung newly formatted (option + cmd + r to try to start internet recovery mode and do a clean install of holding).

I tried to solve problems using other my Macbook Pro (a model 15 mid-2010 ")-Exchange the SSD back between the two machines, and I get different behavior which is what is so confusing.

The steps I have taken to date include:

-Insert the (unformatted) SSD in 13 "MBP. Hold down cmd + option + r download icon question mark.

-Insert the (unformatted) SSD in MBP 15 ". Hold down cmd + option + r. get starts in the recovery of the internet where I could format the drive!

-Replace the (newly formatted) SSD in 13 ". Hold down cmd + option + r. Yet once the icon question mark.

To make sure that I was not screw up internals I put the old hard drive back in 13 "and he started very well. It's a relief at least.

So I'm at this stage. Someone please correct me if my reasoning is wrong...

-He's not the SSD because my model 15 "it recognizes and plays well.

-It has No internal features of the computer, because it always starts on the old HD when I reinserted it.

-He could be the SATA cable. (I tried to change place than my 15 "model, but the orientation is different and I didn't take the risk of rupture of the cable).

    -It could be a PEBKAC

In the meantime I'll install a clean version on the operating system on the new drive while it is in the MBP 15 "work. Then, I'll try once more. But I don't hold any hope as the 13 "MBP doesn't recognize the SSD when would be the model 15".

This is the model 13 '

    Thisis the model 15 "

Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You probably replace the SATA cable in the MBP 13 ".  This phenomenon has been reported several times on these forums.  An SSD will start the MBP externally but not internally, and the original HARD drive will start the MBP even internally.  A new SATA cable solved the problem.

I do not offer a 100% guarantee, but I suspect that the chances are good.
