Windows 7 driver for Xerox DocuPrint P8e

Need of Bright work around to continue to use the large laser printer

I got a Xerox DocuPrint P8e for many years. It's a parallel laser printer. Recently, I installed Windows 7 Professional and to my dismay, the older driver does not work under Windows 7. There is little chance that a driver will be written for her because Xerox himself announced as the printer is very old, that is no longer, it will continue to support it. I tried to install Windows XP in a virtual machine of Windows 7 and the old printer driver installation, but it does not work. Is there anyone smart enough in this forum to find a way for me to continue to use the old printer. My last ditch is to build an old machine, install XP inside, connect the printer and try to set it up as a network print server so I can use it on the Windows 7 computer. Please, any suggestions or help would be greratly appreciated.
