If there I sno good driver on Toshiba download page (I assume W2K is not supported for this model of laptop), please try to find the driver somewhere on the net. I found some info your unit has NeoMagic NM2200 (MagicMedia 256av) video card.

  To use an external monitor as a second monitor, or extended display just try to use the Windows settings in display properties.
