Windows 7 firewall, just after the power rules

Hello

Setting up a private workgroup-to-peer network (not homegroup, no servers or domain) of several PC windows 7.  Have all network connections, defined as 'private' of networks.  At that time, the private firewall is disabled, and the Public firwall is enabled.  Administration tool using remote third 3rd RAdmin connect and control the PC.

Strange behavior just after turn on/off the PC.  Can ping from one PC to another, but RAdmin tool fails to connect to a PC on just.  The 'Public' windows firewall log shows the RAdmin TCP packet dropped.  Once someone has logged on locally to the computer and then connected to the wide, the RAdmin packages are no longer considered (fell or permitted) by the Public firewall, and the RAdmin progam works great.

I added a test rule to allow all TCP traffic through any firewall from any PC, any user, any port, etc. (essentially large open) and still have the problem where RAdmin specific TCP packets are lost by the Public firewall.

I can get it to work by setting the 'incoming connections' for the Public firewall to 'Always allow', but is not an acceptable solution.

I worked with the provider of 3rd party s/w (famatech) and they also have no idea why it works this way.

Any ideas how the Windows 7 firewall works right after that the PC is on, but before the user login?  Any ideas how can I do an acceptable firewall rule which will be in force after powering on, but before that the user log?

Thank you in advance for any help or any other ideas,

Rick

Answered my own question.  Found that a set Local GPO do not merge rules defined by the user.  When I moved the RAdmin rule throughout the local Group Policy object, problem goes away.

It just started last night and today I got a call from someone calling themselves repair windows (come call of the India) and they state they know bad files have been downloaded on my PC one it needs repair - someone else has had this or know how I can stop what's happening, it starts and then once I got to the main screen of windows the pc just crashes.

If you can not connect mode without fail, your next logical step would be to try the Recovery Console.  Once in the recovery console, you can try to perform a disk check where the problem is caused by a problem on your drive.  You must type a command like:
    CHKDSK C: /R

"How to install and use the Recovery Console in Windows XP"

If this does not work, you can try to replace your registry to a backup files.  The best way to proceed is to boot from a bootable CD (I like to use floppies for Linux Live free like Knoppix, but there are other CD based on Windows, you can create such as Bart PE, UBCD4Winand Hirens ) then follow the General steps of KB307545 from part 2, step 6, using the interface graph normal user on your boot CD to move and copy files rather than the instructions of line of order in the article.

Otherwise, you can use one of the above CD boot (or your install in another computer disc) to back up what files you can on a USB hard drive before reinstalling Windows.

  • Computer TouchSmart HP Envy 17 t 2 weeks without a break stop at or just after the connection

    Hello

I really need help because I am pulling all my hair out with frustration. Here are the details:

I got a new Notebook HP TouchSmart 17 t for my birthday last week. I'm a developer and a code about 15 hours a day, and my laptop 15 inch 3 years was certainly an obstacle. Needless to say, I was very excited by envy, especially 17-inch screen.

That excitement lasted about 2 days.

In the first two days of use, I installed all the Windows, Windows updates 8.1, Chrome, Visual Studio, SQL Server 2012 and Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, and Avast. The system will periodically re-start during this time, but he wasn't even epidemic.

But from about the 3rd day, the computer began to stop more frequently. Initially, it was once every 30 minutes or so, but then increased rapidly so it restarted at or just after the login screen 9 of the 10 startups. Every 10th reboot or so, the computer will allow me to connect and I immediately try troubleshoot it before it will re-start again in 5 minutes or less.

The only thing I could think of that changed on the 3rd day is I installed Kaspersky to replace Avast (the laptop came with a 1 year free Kaspersky subscription). I didn't know if it was the culprit, or if I had a lemon of a computer that was overheating because of hardware problems, but to be sure, I tried to uninstall it. However, the computer wouldn't stay long enough for me to do.  I couldn't even in HP Recovery to restore the system.

Fortunately, I had burned the recovery DVDs and was able to start the recovery tool by booting from the DVD. I restored the computer configuration with minimal additional software installed (restore failed the on the first trial to 99% complete, but the second test was a success). I was really hoping this would solve the problem so I can start using my new laptop.

    No luck.

The first time I turned on the computer after the restore, it immediately starts close to, or just after the screen connection again. As before, I am able to use the computer for 5 minutes every 10th reboot or so before it restarts. During those rare moments, I was able to enter the power management settings to turn off sleep and Hibernate, given that several forum posts which indicate as a potential culprit. However, the computer won't stay long enough to install updates of window or Windows 8.1, or to ensure that all drivers are up-to-date.

Furthermore, I believe that the BIOS flashed when Windows 8.1 has been installed and I wonder if it needs to be reset. (I don't think the restoration process reactivates the BIOS to its original settings, but I have really no idea.)

Anyway, here I am with a new laptop that I can not use.  I don't know if it's a driver problem, software conflict, hardware problem, problem of BIOS or something else. Needless to say, I am very frustrated and I would really appreciate suggestions.

    Thank you

    Tom

    Tom, welcome to the forum.

This isn't how HP computers to run.  I strongly suggest that return you it and get another HP computer that works.  If it does not work long enough to install the updates, it will very probably not get much better.  I want to help you to save your hair!

  • Vista goes into sleep mode automatically just after the restart

The following problem was irregular. Sometimes, other times not. I'm totally frustrated as to why it is happening and I would like to solve this problem, now and forever.

Yes, first facts: I have an Asus G71Gx laptop game with Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 M. 6 GB of memory, Windows Vista 64-bit. Do not think that other information is necessary, unless I'm mistaken.

The problem: well, just after the start/start my laptop goes into sleep mode. As in, Windows starts fine and I see my desktop with all the shortcut icons and the background, and then all of a sudden the screen goes black (with two Dim lights blue on the screen - fellow Asus G71Gx users will know it), and the power led button flashes slowly in and out, as if it was in sleep/hibernation. The led light cover mode monitor "sleep". I did the whole "all never put under power options. I've updated my Nvidia graphic drivers for later. I even disabled Hibernate in the command prompt. Seriously, I have above average PC knowledge. But it has trampled me... everything short.

Sometimes, I have to go through this cycle up to 9 or 10 times and then stops. Other days there is no question. But I still have to reboot just to be safe and to avoid the game stutter (another question that I don't know what it is, since I was the latest GPU drivers). But I can live with that.

It cannot be an overheating GPU. I mean, it's at the start and at the present time, it is cold enough to have this piece as a cooler for the GPU! Haha.

I thought about possible power supply problems. But how to test it? The laptop doesn't have it, the first week I got it. I use an adapter to put the American card in European decision-making.

It is the ONLY major problem I have with this laptop. Sleep at startup. The other two, being game stutter if I don't restart my laptop and double tapping (seems to be an Asus problem according to the forums), are quite minor and I can live with that.

Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm VERY tempted to get windows 7 and do a clean install, but Vista was not really giving me any problems. But if I know that this issue is associated with Vista, then I say Bravo to Vista...

Edit: Apologies for writing this thread Windows 7 and explore the internet forum. Don't know how it happened! Well I'm leaving here now, and hopefully this will get sorted.

After 2 replacements of mobo that apparently caused this same prob, what finally fixed for me has been updated the chipset drivers.

Above is how the gateway recovery is supposed to work.

    Also, try this:

Try using a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • Edge 14. Battery not charging after the Power Manager Update to 6.07 and resetting the battery.

My battery will do not, at all.

The gauge was obviously wrong to happen very quickly after reaching 20%, so I've updated the power to 6.07 Manager and then perform a reset of the battery (I'm sure it's in that order, perhaps first reset).

After resetting the battery charged to 100% back, but as it is discharged, the charger was not.  With the power, the battery is located just at the same percentage and descends very slowly (about 1% in two days).

I tried to play with the parameters of maintenance battery, the meter then said that charge will begin less than 80%, but the battery is already on the 20%.  I checked the firmware in the Manager of power and with the stand-alone program but apparently no update is necessary and T 42, 4755 FRU part number is not listed as needing an update.

Current version of the firmware: 3f98-0004-0160-0130

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Power Manager.  The power windows manager also seems to have the same problem.

I just baught the laptop last year, is a month out of warranty; I need it to be portable to work.

I thought about buying a new battery, but it seems to be the charge function is not working, and the battery was working fine before the reset and the update, apart from the loss of certain abilities and the inaccurate meter.

    Hi NINE.

Thank you for hospitality, the effort and the answer.  Greatly appreciated.

I tried this and just tried to reinstall the firmware of power management.

I finally solved the problem after reading this post by:

    1 shut down the computer.

    2. unplug the power supply cord (and everything - usb and monitor cables).

    3 remove the battery.

    4. play with the spring on the battery switches and shake threatening (probably unnecessary, but you may want to give it 10 to 15 seconds on the laptop).

    5. replace the battery in the laptop.

    6. connect the power cord.

    7. start the laptop and connect.

    Thanks again.

  • Satellite A10 dies after the power LED blink

    Hello

I have a problem with the power supply of my Toshiba Satellite A10. Sometimes, after the computer sat for some time, I have a problem with the power. The "plugged power cable" - LED will start to blink and shortly after, the computer just dies.

It can also have the time to go into a lower energy state before he does. When it happened once, it will most likely happen also when I restart the computer, but after a much shorter time. WXP won't even have time to start. If I stop to select the source of start-up, the problem will occur anyway, this isn't the software. It should also be noticed that when the computer is not turned off, the 'smart power' - is on correctly.

I know that my battery is not very good. Completely loaded, the computer can run for maybe 3 minutes with only the battery. I know that I must have a battery connected, even if I use the power cable, but this occurs even when the mine problem. The battery would be pretty bad not even allow me to use the computer with a cable?

It should be added, that sometimes I can use the computer for long periods of time without this problem to happen. I also have a problem with the battery not being not properly in physical contact with the pins of the computer, but this isn't the problem here, because I have the same problem with the battery removed and me holding the battery in place.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

You description is very long and detailed and it of still not easy to say what's wrong.
Usually, the DC-In witness lights up green when DC is provided FRO the AC current. If the output voltage of the adapter is abnormal or if power outages, this indicator flashes orange.

So I think that is your AC adapter malfunctions or there is something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard.
