I'm currently under Windows 7 Pro. When I'm going to update Windows 7, it always freezes, I just tried to update and it has been blocked here for the last hour to "Installing updates...". Installing Update 1 10...  Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 (KB982381) cumulative security"it gets stuck on something different each time, and then when I close down it says do not stop your windows machine is to install updates and it's always freezing there, he is always stuck on 1 of #. I down a system restore, but for a system of reason strange restoration was not on. I need help. I try to avoid reinstalling Windows 7 because it's too much hassle to reinstall the dozens and dozens of programs that I installed and I have to reinstall all updates again. Thank you for your time.

@Knightsofwar2010 only:

He did move to Win7 or is this a new computer?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Desktop Windows 7 freezes as soon as I log in, then the analysis of disk is automatically cancelled

Last month, my office has been freezing almost whenever I connect, I rebooted my laptop or close and turned on afterwards. The way I know that it is frozen is when my wifi icon is the blue loading circle and when I right click on my slider and it is located in the blue loading circle. Then after I do a restart hard (hold the power button and back - turn on my laptop), after the screen usual "the computer did not turned off properly", I see "scan disk" screen Even if I touch any key so analysis can run and maybe find the problem, the analysis is automatically cancelled. I pass this cycle at least twice before being able to use my computer properly.

I've had my laptop for 4 years. It is a Dell Inspiron N5010 Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit Intel Core i3 processor. For safety, I got Kaspersky Internet Security for one year. Is there anything that can be done to prevent it happening again?

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those without drain in their names. (Also
updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • Windows 7 freezes on complete Installation with my HP Pavilion a6500f

I did turn a copy of 64 bit Vista on my HP Pavillion a6500f until very recently. Need a clean install of Windows 7. He gets during the major part of installation very quickly, but when it gets to the install finished step, it freezes. What should I do?

Tips for solving common problems when Windows 7 won't install troubleshooting

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known issues that might affect the installation and correct them.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

2 disable any security software: anti-virus, firewall etc. Don't forget to activate the Afterwords.
3 make sure that your computer has the BIOS and latest drivers. Update of the BIOS can be risky, don't do that if nothing else works.
    4. disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse before installing.
    5. If using a video card and the computer has integrated video use and remove the video card.
6 unplug the computer from the internet, if you have wireless disable.
    7. RAM (memory) - reduce the amount of RAM. 1 GB if 32-bit installation, 2 GB for 64-bit, then replace RAM if the upgrade was successful. If you added new RAM make sure it is also compatible.
    8. If you have several hard drives remove all except the one that you install Windows 7, and then replace it after Windows 7 is installed.
    9. If you have downloaded Windows 7 and it burned a DVD test burn again at the slowest speed possible. It is also possible the download may have errors, you can try to download it again.
    10. If you click 'Upgrade' to start the installation make sure that you take a supported upgrade path. You can't make a square by update: type A) XP to Windows 7, B) fuse change - 32 to 64-bit, C) change languages, D) decommissioning editions ex: Vista of the month last 7 Pro, or E) Vista Home Pro 7.

    11. check your RAM (memory) to find errors. Can take a long time, don't make that if nothing else has worked.
    (A) Insert the Windows 7 DVD and restart the computer.
    (B) start from the Windows 7 DVD.
    (C) select your language, and then click Next.
    (D) click on "repair your computer" then select the operating system to fix it.
    (E) click on the link of the Memory Diagnostics in the system recovery menu.
    (F) the computer will restart and your memory is checked for errors.

    12 turn off startup programs:
    (A) click Start, type MSCONFIG in the search box and press ENTER.
OK the authorization of user account control and password if necessary
If you are using XP: click Start, run, and type: MSCONFIG and click OK.
    (B) on the general tab, click Selective startup.
    (C) just below the selective startup, clear the checkbox "Load Startup items".
    (D) click the Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft Services", and then click Disable all.
    (E) click OK, and then restart the computer.
    (F) try the upgrade again.

(NOTE: If the upgrade fails and you continue to use your rear security software, then also go back into MSCONFIG and under the general Tower XP/Vista tab, click "Normal startup", and then click OK to exit.)

  • Desktop Windows 7 freezes.

I recently updated my card motherboard and CPU. Went from Intel Core2Duo to AMD FX 6 core and motherboard went from Foxconn to an MSI a not sure about the particular model but both were on the card. I had to do a complete fresh re-install of Windows 7 Home 64 bit just to get the pc to boot. I first noticed the problem whenever I plugged my speakers sound on Board decision-making. I thought that it could be a conflict with my mouse because as soon as I plugged it it it would freeze upwards. I went on the installation disc motherboard and ensured that all drivers have been installed correctly. I then plugged my speakers back in and it worked fine. Now it hangs just periodically when I am downloading and trying to use google chrome

    Hi Rick,

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

    Crashes Windows or freezes

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection.

Please take a backup of the data on an external drive such as scanning could result in loss of data.

    Good day!

  • Windows 7 freezes after the password entered

It is a windows 7 Compaq Presario laptop. It freezes immediately after the entry of the password. It crashes in safe mode as well. When I go to command Mode need me to network mode so I can't run all the tests. The fan had run hard before, but I don't think that is the main question. I could install a new hard drive but I don't have an operating system. I expect to get out of this without spending too much money

    Hello

Thanks for posting the question on Microsoft Community.

According to the description, it seems that Windows 7 freezes once the password is entered.

However, we need more information about the issue to help you better.

Please help me answer this question.

Were there any changes made to the computer before the question?

I have this link which should guide you in the right direction for the freezing of Windows 7.

Try the steps mentioned in this link and check:

    Crashes Windows or freezes

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expire after 10 days from the date of installation.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I hope this helps. If you have questions more related to Windows feel free to post here at Microsoft Community and we will be happy to help.

  • Windows 7 freezes in Normal Mode.

Hello! I use my Dell Inspiron 17R about 2 months ago and this is a fantastic phone, I use it mainly for video games, music and Movies/TV shows and he ran without fault far.

Yesterday, however, the problems began to occur. I could boot up the laptop as usual and access the Internet, play games, watch movies etc, but after about 5 minutes everything would suddenly become unresponsive. Both my mouse and trackpad do not allow me to click at all, however I could move the mouse around the screen quite well. The keyboard would not work also - I tried to open the Task Manager via Ctrl + Alt + Del but also closing windows with Alt + F4 or by train at the stop via the Windows key and nothing would work. Instead, the cursor would change to the "loading" symbol and it would pretty much just doing nothing.
The first time that this happened, I was browsing the Internet and it comes if is stuck on "Waiting for Cache" or something so that probability, I then noticed the circle of rotation which shows a page loading also stopped and was then forced to manually restart because I couldn't even click on the Windows button. Another test I tried watching a video uploaded - it literally just stopped playing about 4 minutes. The screen is just stopped on a single image even if the pause button had not been pressed - try clicking on what anyone did not work (as usual).
I tried to restart it several times (I unfortunately had to use the power button) and he began to repeat each time. It would work for a few minutes before freezing completely (less opportunity to unnecessarily move the mouse around the screen). Sometimes a pop-up window would be above the bar saying that stains the 'Microsoft Windows application became unresponsive. Sometimes the taskbar then disappear and the laptop would be closed, but the end result is always the same.
I found that the same problem moved with the boot safe mode with networking, however there were a few noticeable slowdown. I downloaded and used many anti-viruses/malware to analyze my machine and I'm almost certain that there is nothing of the those on the computer (although in fairness, the scans have been so slow I could do before giving up only to about 20% on each). Other solutions, I tried included:
    1. manually end tasks of high memory use via the Manager of
    2. with the help of CCleaner for fix my registry in Mode safe
    3. left the laptop shut down during the night in hope it would just set
4 disconnected everything from the laptop ports
    5. rebooted via the reboot, shutdown and power buttons
I'm sure I tried other things as well, but I am quite limited in the fact that I can use the laptop for a few minutes before he decided to stop working. I really need the laptop for my studies and I would be absolutely in love if one of you could help me solve my problem.
    Thanks in advance!

Original title: error: after about 5 minutes of work after booting, Windows 7 freezes completely

    Hi JordanRidehalgh,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. It seems that you have a problem with Windows 7 gel. This can be very frustrating for you, and I appreciate the efforts you have put in. Let us work together as a team to get this number fixed.

We start with a few questions-

    (1) that you get an error message or error code?

    (2) did you install hardware or software on the computer before the show?

I would like more information about the issue.

    Method 1-

I wish that you run anti-virus in Mode safe mode with networking using different antivirus software.

In addition, I'd download (download and install in Normal Mode) and execution (in Safe Mode) the online scanner.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The antivirus will try to repair bad sectors on the hard drive damaged by viruses. All the data on these sectors may be lost.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Make sure you get the computer back to Normal Mode after performing all the troubleshooting steps.

    Method 2-

It is possible that a third-party application is causing the problem as the computer worked well in Mode without failure.

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Placing the computer in a boot minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must perform the steps in the article-

  • Boot Camp Windows Installation 10 - "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. It's the GPT partition style.

    Hello

I tried to dual boot Windows 10 alongside OS X El Capitan on my iMac 21.5 inch i5 end 2013. I have followed all the instructions in the Boot Camp assistant, restart, choose the yellow 'Windows' drive to boot from, but when I get to the Windows installation, enter the product key and language, and then select the partition (0-4, the partition Disk Partition) it tells me that "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is the GPT partition style. »

So I found this answer: How do I install Windows 8.1 on Haswell MBP

But then I received the same error.

    Tried this: http://macriot.com/mcrt/?p=2362

But fdisk TPG allow me to change anything, as the SIP is enabled.

Tried to disable SIP via a command line in a terminal in recovery mode, but got an error-bash: command not found csrutil.

So now I'm stuck on all fronts. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    1. your iMac end 2013 supports the facilities of BIOS/MBR and GPT/EFI.

    2. the legacy BIOS/MBR method requires a hybrid MBR.

3 EFI/GPT is recommended for your specific model.

    4. you can use the GPT Fdisk steps in your link to make your drive a GPT disk only. It is not enough.

    5. you will need to convert the FAT32 partition space using the following OS X Terminal

    diskutil eraseVolume free disk0s4 FREE

This will return an error, because free space is not associated with disk slices.

    6. at this point, use the USB installer created by the wizard of BC, boot from it and hold down the Alt/Option key and select Boot EFI (not Windows). Point to the portion of the free space that you see after the + 620 MB Recovery HD. It will separate into a small (128 MB) MSR and the rest as MSD (NTFS).

    7. do not install W7 in Boot EFI, because it has some difficulties.

    8. when Windows is installed, and BC drivers are not installed, run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder.

    9. If csrutil is not found, you are in the recovery of the Internet, because your local Recovery HD is corrupted. The rescue of the failure of the local recovery is restoration of Internet. Your must be on El Capitan. There is no csrutil (or SIP) before El Capitan.

  • I want to uninstall Windows 8 and install Windows 7

    HP ENVY m6-1125dx Notebook PC

My laptop came with Windows 8. I really don't like Windows 8, it is too restrictive. I want to uninstall Windows 8 and install Windows 7. How to go? Where can I get the operating system and driver software.

Should I buy Windows 7 separately? Or can I use the same key?

Before installing Windows 7, can I suggest an idea?

I had the same problem: I'm a Windows 7 user who bought a laptop Windows 8 and don't really like the Metro user interface. It is half cooked for desktop/laptop computer, several apps to not scroll horizontally with the touchpad, etc, etc.

But what I did install a simple program called "Debut8" (http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/) that still allows me to go right at the part 8 Windows desktop and use it as I have Windows 7. The advantage of this approach is that you get the benefits of the internal improvement of Windows 8 (some improvements in performance on Windows 7, etc.) and do not have the hassle/cost of installing Windows 7. You can also try a GPL program called Classic Shell (http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/). So far I am happy with debut8 as a solution.

Anyway, worth before going through the cost and difficulty of installing Windows 7.
