Windows 7 GWX.exe

I wonder why there more and more and more difficult to prevent the installation of this application in Windows 7.  Initially, I uninstalled the update "Update Windows 10" and added to the list hidden in Windows Update.  After a day or two and two or three reboots, this app has been downloaded once again, under a number of different Windows Update version.  I uninstalled again, update, rebooted, and it was gone.  A low and behold, I come to work, turn on my computer, and this update again once, was installed on my machine.  I went in the distant and the creation of false records and executeables, denying permissions SYSTEM and INSTALLER of CONFIDENCE, and yet, this update continues to be an embarrassment.  I legally own my copy of Windows 7, still have the original packaging, and I don't appreciate having your Windows 10 advertising constantly displayed on my screen, even though I removed and taken measures to prevent its installation, only to have reinstalled it against my will.  I tried Windows 10, and I can tell you I will NEVER update, as I have no interest in seeing you AD polluted, hacker built, joke of a BONE.  My Windows 7 computer, is not yet able to run Windows 10, the older nature of his equipment, specifically a motherboard chipset which has a default, who has never treated for my motherboard, so WHY AM I SAW YOUR announcement MICROSOFT?

  • [Windows 7] GWX.exe (get Windows 10) seems unable to launch

    Hello

Since Saturday, I am trying to upgrade my computer to Windows 10.

My problem is that the icon get Windows 10, which showed some time ago (I don't remember when, perhaps a few weeks ago) is not displayed.

I followed a lot of advice (including yaqub k response), but the problem persists. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the two necessary updates to update my computer (updates KB3035583 and KB2952664). After an Agic, it seems that the scheduled task is running (see Yaqub K response, the script tells me immediately that the task is already running. After a little research, I finally managed to find the app on C:/System32/GWX GWX. I tried to start it, but it didn't work at all. After the opening to try it with the Task Manager, it seems that the process, but she dies immediately, no error message or anything. He did the same thing with GetWindows10 - Web_Default_Attr.exe, I tried to use.

Now, I'm really in ideas. I thought to delete GWX on System32, but I don't know it will be reinstalled, as two updates do not appear to change these files at all.

I really want to upgrade to Windows 10, but I can't do it by myself.

Also, my computer is an Asus Easynote TR85 with Windows 7 installed Famiy. With service pack 1.

It may seem a bit old, while he was still there, the booking screen told me that my computer was admissible.

    Here's my problem.

If anyone of you know a way to fix this, I'll be really happy.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

If you can't get Windows 10 to get 10 app windows or Windows update, you always have the option of ISO to upgrade.

Download Windows 10 media creation tool

Simply select this option of PC/improvement.

After you download the Windows 10 installation files using this tool, you can upgrade your existing 10 Windows operating system, or you can create the bootable USB drive or DVD to install Windows 10 key later. You can also save the installation files to the ISO in offline mode file format, if you wish.

  • How are GWX.exe successful removal, but still a few occurrences of the file on the disk - they protected?

Being anoyed by the GWX-icon - and related unacceptable usage of my disk space and bandwidth (it has already reached 5GB of Win10 - junk and my SSD was almost full) - I tried to remove my system Win7 GWX. First I found 5 occurrences of the GWX.exe file (and some other files on) on my drive, after application of the GWX Panel I had up to 2 and the app is no longer active (and 5 GB of space free!). The use of some doesn´t of Mo wrong, but it looks a lot like a security breach - I m unable to delete these files & folders from the disk, even I m not able to change the security settings for these files.

Someone at - it an idea how this weird State (super protected folders) can be removed or has been reached?

    Thanks in advance!

You must take possession of these files or folders, then you give a full read/write access. It may be necessary to do with the commands in the console (takeown.exe and icacls.exe) while Windows Repair Mode.

    Hello

I think this explains the problem.  The 2 entries here should be deleted, because the first will try to index all of your user profile and the second will attempt to index all of the Windows Partition.

    C:\Users\Rick

    C:\

To remove them, click to the left of the entrance, highlight it, and then click Remove.  When these two entries have been removed, reboot the laptop and you should find that the problem has been resolved.

Two of the three files are probably part of the malware infection and not the files infected. The third is probably the same details in this link:

To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
    http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig. You will find the three points and they will have a description 'file is missing' against everyone. Your antivirus software has removed the files, but not the startup entries in the registry. All you need to do is delete the entry using Autoruns to eliminate the error messages.

Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

  • 0xc000000f \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe kernel is missing or corrupt - windows server 2008 r2

After restoring the Windows partition boot flag, I got:

    0xc000000f

    \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe

    kernel is missing or damaged.

I use Windows Server 2008 R2 installed on 70 GB primary partition & active with appropriate MBR.  It is not the consumer - it is installed on the laptop.  After the repair broken BCD (Windows 7 installation DVD, DVD server doesn't have this tool :() this problem.) I know that this (ntkrnlpa.exe) file does not exist, and it should not. System could not start any mode (even Safe Mode base).

The disc is perhaps the problem because PARAGON Hard Disk Manager 2011 has problems with the editing of this partition but it it sails well (as other tools). The files seems good. Also, CHKDSK has not found no serious problems such as bad sectors - it fixed only tiny problems.
