Windows 7 - HD cloned and Activation loop

I needed more space, so I used the True Image to clone my 500 GB drive for a 1 TB drive. Everything seemed ok for about 2 weeks, and now I'm getting the 'not genuine Windows' popup. I got my key and it tells me that windows is activated. Will be a little late as I get the 'Windows not genuine' pop - up once again, and so on...

I'm not exactly sure - but it seems that they are particularly vulnerable to corruption, especially during backup/restore operations if they involve the material change and are unable to cope with the change. Accordingly, they seem to block access of Service of software Protection for critical files within the time limit allowed until the system reports as being non-genuine.

Refreshing or updating the drivers fixed the LAG and allows adequate access for the SPP function.

  • Cloning and Active Directory

I just came across trouble cloning a win2003 server in Active Direcory. Once I renamed the cloned that he renamed the initial account of the server in Active Directory, so I could not connect to the source server over.

I've always had to run newsid.exe after a clone or the Configuration Wizard can do?

If you use the feature to customize comments, it will generate a new SID for the clone if you ask.

  • I lost my key windows 7 disc premium and activation and want to install it on my new laptop.

Hello. I have a new laptop (well, it's old, and has Windows XP, but its new to me) and I discovered that you can use the same windows 3 times. I had actually Windows 7 Premium for my old laptop and an another Windows 7 Premium for my computer and another for my dads laptop, but I can't find the disks or the keys. Is it possible to get it on this laptop, without obtaining an illegal copy?

If there are other details, do not hesitate to ask, but I don't know where to find it.

You cannot use the same license to install more than one--with the exception of the limited edition Pamily Pack Upgrade (it is no longer for sale).

Your laptop may not be able to run Windows 7 in any case - have you checked?

  • Again - the EULA allows to keep Windows XP after the installation and activation of a retail upgrade to Windows 7

The EULA allows to keep Windows XP after installation and activation of a retail upgrade to Windows 7?
I understand that the EULA (EULA) prohibits the USE of the operating system upgraded - must also be removed from the system?

I intend to upgrade a pre-installed Windows Media Center 2006 on a Gateway computer to a level of detail to Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit.  I am adding a new hard drive, as this case nears end of life... and plan to install the operating system upgraded to the new HD - because I have XP 32 bit to Win7-64 bit... and a "custom" installation is necessary, anyway.

This will result in an operating system XP on the old hard drive and the new OS Win7 Pro 64 - bit on the new drive.  There have been suggestions that the answer to this question is simply to remove the "old" operating system, after activating the 'new' Windows 7.  However - I see that any installation (or REINSTALLATION) of the operating system upgraded to Win 7 requires the previous XP to be "present on the computer.

QUESTION: as long as I don't 'USE' the BONE replaced/implemented to date, I am in compliance with the EULA?  Alternatively, do I install "over" this Windows Media Player OS - on the old, due to lack of hard drive?

The Media Center EULA States: «...» "15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After you upgrade, you can no longer use the software upgrade of. ... ', but is silent (as far as I can find by reading the EULA on the question of if software upgrade HAVE to be 'destroyed'.)

Thanks for your review (a reference to the appropriate Microsoft documentation would be nice too)

You said above, «...» "You will be able to upgrade to Windows XP, it is a qualification license... »

And I assume you are talking about my software Windows XP Media Center Edition (currently installed), as being a "qualification licence".

    That is right.

Are we in agreement that a copy preinstalled OEM of Windows XP Media Center Edition IS extendable with a 'detail' update the license for Windows 7?

His qualification, but you can't make a real room upgrade, you can do a custom installation. See the previous post on how to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7. An upgrade maintains the personal files, settings and installed applications.

I understand the ban on using the OEM OS software OR the upgrade replacement software on one computer other than the one on which it was originally installed by the OEM.

I also understand that I cannot use the "improved" XP Media Center software, once the upgrade of Windows 7 has occurred.

The rest to determine if it NEEDS to be deleted or replaced... you have no guidance on this issue?

Well, when you perform a custom installation, in essence, it is deleted or replaced. Then, it is part of the upgrade license. It's like it becomes a mind is more tangible, but always there as a base to which the upgrade license may exist on your system.

  • List of open and active/Windows Forms displayed within Windows XP 7 v/s windows on the right by clicking on the name of the application in the status bar

    Salvation OR,.

We found that the list of forms/open windows displayed in Windows XP (on the right by clicking on the name of the application in the windows taskbar) seems to indicate all open and active windows/forms in the application.

We would like to know how to enable the same functionality in a Windows 7 environment. The best we can do now is to double click on the name of the application on the windows taskbar to switch between active windows/Forms in the application. We would like a menu similar to the windows XP appearance about running on Windows 7 when it comes to this particular feature.

    Thank you and best regards,

    -Ashish

The taskbard has changed significantly in Windows Vista and 7. You can get a similar functionality to what you call by customizing the taskbar in the taskbar properties. In addition, now press SHIFT key while right-clicking to display a menu similar to what you show in your screenshot, except that it does not display the name of the element. In Windows 7, the feature make you is typically done by hovering over the icon in the bar tasks and selecting one of the points of view which appears above the element.

You can use the Windows shellapi to do a limited customization of the task bar, but this API is very difficult to use and I would not recommend this approach.

CVI provides a method to change the name of the item in the taskbar (see this KB), but it does not add the name after the restoration in the context menu.

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista, Intel Wifi card is installed and activated, but does not detect the network.

Wireless card not working after a clean install of Windows Vista

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion of 32 bits. I've completely updated Windows via Service Pack 2. Given that the clean install, my wireless card, Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, was not able to detect all the networks. The Wifi card is listed under NICs as being installed and activated. the hardware on my laptop Wifi switch is set on "on" and the light is blue, indicating that the card is working.

I can connect to the internet if I connect physically my computer to the modem with an ethernet cable wireless, so the modem isn't the problem. Other computers can connect to the wireless modem, so my Wifi modem functionality is not the problem. The problem with my computer.

I tried to uninstall the Intel driver and reboot my computer with the generic driver. Install the driver generic, but my wireless card has not always worked. I then ran an update of windows, nothing helps.

I tried to install the "Intel® PRO /? Wireless and WiFi Link"drivers for Windows Vista (32-bit 13.1.1.1 the latest version and the previous version 12.4.4.5 32-bit) for the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN directly from the Intel Web site at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Wireless+WiFi+Link+4965AGN. The map didn't always work with a driver.

In addition to the pilots, I also downloaded a tool of diagnosis of Intel (Intel® PROSet /?) Utility of WiFi wireless connection for Windows Vista 32 -? Bit). Said diagnostic tool the WiFi card is not installed or enabled, however, Device Manager maintains that he is also installed and active.

Is there a problem that causes Device Manager to say that all is well with the card, but does not map to realize that they diminish the radio signals? Everything's fine, diagnostic, it just does not detect networks around him. Help, please.

    Hello

    The on/off switch actually works?

Since it is an internal adapter to ensure it is enabled in the settings of configuration/F2 (BIOS/CMOS) often like you
Start - so look at the screen.

Have you tried the computer on other WiFi networks? You had a WiFi type problem before the

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

    Hey jennyanderson99

as you ask specifically about active desktop, here's what it is, or in your case what she was before vista released

Active Desktop is a feature of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 Windows Desktop Update that allows the user to add optional contentHTML on the Office, as well as a few other features. This feature was designed to be installed on theWindows 95 operating system then in force. It was also included inWindows 98 and later Windows operating systems up toWindows Vista, where the feature wasdiscontinued. This corresponds to the version ofInternet Explorer 4.0 to 6.x, but not Internet Explorer 7.

HTML users can add in place of the ordinary wallpaper as independent resizable desktop items. Items available online can be regularly updated and synchronized so that users can stay up-to-date without visiting the site in their browser.

Active Desktop works as the technology of desktop widget that allows users to add customized their desktop information.

Here is information for active desktop for xp

    http://www.ehow.com/how_6366085_make-XP-Active-Desktop.html

information from wikipedia about active desktop are less than

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Desktop

The introduction of the Active Desktop brand attempt by Microsoft to take advantage of the ephemeral trendtechnology push led by PointCast. Active Desktop has imposed a number of "channels" ofdesktop computers that provided information updated continuously, such as headlines and stock quotes, without the user to open aWeb browser of the user.

Active Desktop debuted during the publication of 1997 of Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, install it as a feature of theWindows Desktop Update offered to users during the upgrade option. The Windows desktop update is commonly referred to as (bad) Active Desktop itself, but it is actually a whole Windows shell to level v4.0 to v4.71, or v4.72, with many changes in the Windows interface, resulting in a level look and features almost indistinguishable from the Windows 98, then again to-be-released. Features include the ability to allow uppercase filenames (the old v4.0 Desktop would forcibly filenames in title case uppercase), the dynamic tracking file selection click configurable, customizable by HTML, QuickLaunch folder display settings mini buttons on the taskbar next to the Start button, improved to Start Menu drag and drop re-organization of the elements and menus contextual click right to rename point etc. With the update, Windows Explorer now has an address bar in Internet addresses that can be entered and driven seamlessly.

Active Desktop was widely regarded as a failure, with one of the main problems being its use high system and reduction of the stability of the system resources. Although not used[citation needed], the availability of Active Desktop was decisive for the legal argument Microsoft in antitrust case of United States v. Microsoft , that Internet Explorer has a feature of Windows, not a separate product.

    Later use

Windows Vista has replaced the Active Desktop withWindows Sidebar (now called Gadgets Windows Desktop fromWindows 7), which also allows the components to add to the desktop. Windows XP is the newest operating system from Microsoft to support Active Desktop. It seems that the 64 bit version of Windows XP supports is no longer Active Desktop. It provides always the option to display Web pages and channels built with MicrosoftChannel Definition Format (CDF) on the desktop.

Display HTML features are now mainly used for creating wallpapers originals and adding the fields of desktop search. For example, a user can copy the following code to display the search box of Wikipedia on the desktop:
