I can't use my anytime upgrade windows 7 home to windows 7 pro, I said that's not available.
What can I do to upgrade to windows pro
Microsoft sales ended for Anytime Upgrade and licensing of retail in October 2013. Otherwise, your only way to upgrade is by purchasing the retail full version or upgrade Windows 7 Professional license and use it with the wizard upgrade Express Windows 7 home Basique/Familiale Premium. I just checked amazon.com and all the licenses that I see are copies OEM System Builder:

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.
If you can get a copy of a retail license, you can do the following:
If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.
Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed. Some licenses for Windows distributed to tertiary level students are not perpetual, which means that you cannot continue to use the software after a course or graduating.

On my last laptop, I got a virus that has corrupted my OS files (Windows XP). I was using a version of Linux to run it, and then I crashed my AC adaptor port, making it essentially useless computer. I now have a 'new' laptop (for about a year now) that works under Windows 7.
I took possession of files but also address options for sharing and security in my username and I am the administrator.
The only option I've heard that I have not tried is a command prompt. I'm not familiar with this system, so if there is anything else I can do, I would rather try everything first. If not, I'll settle for anything at this point.

The best way is to clean install and start over.
In addition, it is not legal to have both installed version that the license is for a single installation.
If it is a dual boot with 32 bit and 64 bit installed on different partitions, there would not have been the conflicts you would have never started in one or the other.

I tried to go there several times, checking the caps lock etc.. The version says ' origin: Ireland ' on the insignia case of authenticity and the seller told me that before I bought it and it would work as a version of the United Kingdom's retail. The additional complication is I am currently based in France (where I tried to activate it since), but as an English speaker needed an English language version of Windows.

A little update just for your information. 2 days and 5 calls later (I needed to technical management, through the population of Activation - no direct number so sometimes the transferred call didn't work!) I now have a version of Windows active :) work
However the question turns out to be that my legitimate version (package and all disks of good mine) and it's legitimate keys used did not match exactly.
The unused key was for a version of Windows 7 Edition product update Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro, so that's why it did not work on the new facility I was trying.
I contacted the seller amazon to let them know about this problem as it is possible that there is a lot that is perhaps not entirely legitimate.
Once again thanks to the MVP here and people I talked on the phone before this is resolved, I suspect that this could become a problem growing with Windows 7, as people are not super keen on 8 and 7 is a solid BONE with a little support left? So even if you pay a rate of 'good' for your Windows 7 disks, be aware that you can not get exactly what you expected, and maybe it would be nice if MS has always sold direct to counter this kind of question?

My wife tried to update firefox and since then it will not open. When I click it a window appears and says that I have to finish the upgrade a previous version by restarting. When I reboot nothing changes.
