Windows 7 Homegroup: no Permission to open folders under network in NSC

Hello

I have set up a homegroup.  I have two wireless computers running windows 7.  I created a homegroup on C1, C2 saw and joined.  Now C2 appears in the residential group C1, but C1 can not open files under homegroup - files do not respond.  Under the portal network in the NSC, when I click on the shared files of C2 or C1, I get this error:

"C2 is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.  The names of suppliers of specified network is invalid.

However, C2 can open files of C1 under network.

Anyone has an idea how I can give permission to C1 to open its files under network too and stop the above error?  Both computers run Mcafee updates and are approved.

Thank you.

All,

Just FYI, I fixed it!    The problem was that I didn't have the installed on my card remote access client.  If this happens again, now you know!

Take care.

  • 10.11.2 and always open folders in a new window

    Hello.

I hope someone can help me here.

I am setting up a new system with 10.11.2 and have noticed something that is different from the previous version of the operating system I was using.

Previously, there was an option in the Finder preferences 'always open folders in a new window', but that seems to have disappeared.  From what I can tell, does Apple now you hold down the command key when you open a folder to access this option.  And that is only the case if the new 'files opened in tabs instead of new windows.  The way that it used to be, is that if you hold the Option key, you could get the new folder to open in the window even IF the 'open in tabs instead of new windows files' has been enabled.

I hope there is a way to do things, how they used to be, and how I like, where the default is to open new windows in a new window.  Or, if you wish, in order to maintain the Option key, then it would be open in the same window.

Changes that have been made I guess there would be a terminal command any to tweak some things, but I don't know what would be this command.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

I also checked the web and even called the local apple hotline - no one could help me. So, it seems we have to live with it. Me too miss me this function very well. The official of othe only option ist in a folder without all the bars (alt-cmd-T), then the file opens in a new window and generally too if the folder or a pseudonym is directly on the desktop. But for me it works nocth with the taskbar on top spaces, for example applications (so-called shift-cmd-A), it will be opened in a file that is already open.

  • When you try to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7, I got this error message "do not have permission to open the file. Contact the administrator. »

I bought Windows 7 two years to upgrade my Windows Vista laptop. The upgrade went well. In November, my hard drive reported a failure to come so I took it to a technician to replace my hard drive and reload everything. I didn't have the product key for W7 so they have recharged to factory install WVista. Last night, I bought another copy of W7 and installed. When the time came to 'Unpack the box' I got one "don't have permission to open the file. Contact the administrator. "message. I found a solution in a post since 2009 and followed the instructions to the command prompt: sfc/scannnow. The scan came back with no violation of integrity. I don't know what to do now.

original title: hang up administrator permissions.

Right-click on the configuration, the exe file and select "run as Administrator".

  • you don't have permission to open this file, contact the file owner or administrator to get permission

My windows\system32 folder, I cannot access some files in this folder.  I recently installed a monitoring program on my laptop and it is necessary for me to admit that some of the files in the system folder of 32 in April for the antivirus program.  Whenever I try to add one of these files, I get this error "you don't have permission to open this contact the file owner or administrator to get permission."  I am the administrator or owner and there is no other user account on my laptop.  Please notify.

  • Permission to open the file

I installed an earlier version of Quickbooks on my computer.  I have a backup file from my old computer to a CD and restore the files on my new computer with Vista Home Premium.  When I try to restore the file, get the message that I don't have permission to open the file and I need to contact my owner or administrator.  How to solve this problem?

Here are some tips about permissions and ownership (with links to more information if you are experiencing problems or to better explain completely the process).  You need full permission and perhaps property files and perhaps records (and maybe even the parent folders) files you are trying to open.  It depends on how security has been implemented and whether or not the parent folders permissions are inherited - chich cases that you may have used the Advanced Properties option to deal with the legacy and all the special permissions that can be limititing to what is shown on the main screen of permissions).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

  • After you have reinstalled Th 38 (due to a problem of XPCOM), it now opens, but the large windows is stuck to one that opens with the name of the account.

I think that Th 38 was the reason why my computer did not open at the total. Once that has been fixed, Thunderbird does not open more (error: XPCOM). After you have reinstalled Th 38 now I can open it and it looks good with the left pane, but the large window on the right is glued to that shows when you click on the name of the account (top folder in the left pane). None of the folders work, and none of the tabs on top of the page or the other. The only things that work are the links in the large window. I can see and open your messages by searching in the Inbox, for example. Would be grateful for any help!

Looks like the problem is solved! I was appalled when I saw how many emails I had stored and deleted a large number of them. Then after restarting the computer, everything seems to be back to normal! Praise be to God! Too, Firefox seems to be back to normal after that I did a cleaning.

    Thanks anyway!

  • A network hard drive can be added to a Windows 7 Homegroup and if so, how?

    Working groups & network HD

I have windows 7 on my 4 computers networked, more 2 Western Digital NAS hard drives.  I'm trying to find a way to add hard drives to network to my homegroup in Windows, but found no information if you or how to get there.  A network hard drive can be added to a Windows 7 Homegroup and if so, how?

  • Sharing on windows 7 homegroup problem

I installed windows 7 homegroup as the video tutorial on Microsoft. But I can not enter the library on the network of the homegroup. Please help me. It is important for me.

    Hi Kathy,

Do you have an error message when you enter the library on the network of the homegroup?

Are various reasons which are responsible for not having access to the homegroup:

a: Network discovery can be disabled

b: the other computers in your homegroup can be turned off, hibernating, or not at home; or may have left the homegroup.

c: Other people in your homegroup might not have shared libraries or folders.

d: the homegroup password might have been changed on a computer that was then immediately turned off or went into a State of sleep or hibernation, but the new password was not immediately introduced on other computers in the homegroup.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

I have two samsung n140 NetBook, both come with Windows 7 starter, I try to get things homegroup networking.

I have set up with the default values at the same time to share the photo, video files etc under homegroup sharing.

He was asked to create a password for homegoup I did it (could have come because I have a NetBook connected initially to a pc running win 7 ultimate, which is where I created a homegroup password but this pc is no longer connected to the network, it's just two samsung netbooks)

in any case when I connected this other netbook with the first he asked me the homegroup password that was entered successfully by me. However, nothing has been free since. These two netbooks running win7 are the only PCs in my home group.

Ive managed to get to a point where in the record of the house band that netbook names are displayed in eachothers homegroup however is listed in network for the group shares residential eachother trying to access the network.

Can I cannect for both computers on the network in the way outdated by sharing folders and access the network folder in my network places and can read and write, but not in the home group.

Homegroup is where I want to control networking not by any other means, I would be very grateful if someone can point me in the right direction please or if its win 7 starter limit myself from network access to the homegroup.

    Thank you very much

    Hey fatfei,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site.

I want to erase some of the basics of networking in Windows 7 Starter edition.

You cannot create a homegroup to a computer running Windows 7 Starter Edition. You can reach only a HomeGroup existing of the starter edition.
This must be one of the restrictions placed on you while trying to connect the two starter edition of Windows 7 homegroup.

So the only option left out here is upgraded to another version of Windows 7 that supports creating HomeGroup via Windows Anytime Upgrade or stick to the way they are connected at present.

  • Files in duplicate locations and Windows Live Movie Maker is not opening

I think that I dragged accidentally the document library tab in the Video Library tab (in the tab on the left menu). My docs & files are now both. If I delete one, it removes both. If I create a new, it does so in both. How to cancel this please?

In addition, at the same time, Windows Live Movie Maker no longer opens.

Libraries actually do hold all the files or folders, they combine their in a view for easy navigation.  For example, my video library shows all the videos of three different hard disks, my roommate's computer records.  But I can see all the videos in one view combined with the library.

To change the folders that appear inside a library, just right-click on the name of the library and choose Properties.  Who let you out your video library documents.
In regards to the Movie Maker, it gives you an error message?
  • Impossible to open folders in thunderbird or send messages not sent after that computer (ubuntu) closed all of a sudden while using the program

I use ubuntu. The computer ran out of battery power and closed while I was using thunderbird. Restart thunderbird later, I found that I could not open folders or send unsent messages. When I close the program, I can't restart it says that thunderbird is already open, but if I use thunderbird killall-9 I tells me there is no thunderbird running process. I checked my profile and there is no lock file or parentlock. Someone suggested the deletion of the database of messages of global reach, but this did not help at all.
