I have two user accounts, now I forgot the password of an account with administrative privileges, how can I reset or remove this password

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
  • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
  • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
  • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
  • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
  • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
After solving this problem, plan in advance and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare House key.

ORiginal title: cannot download Windows 8.1 due to problems of administrator

    Hello

I just got a new laptop, Dell Inspiron 15R with pre-installed Windows 8. Aware of the Windows 8.1 update I logged on my account (which represent the highlights of settings I have administrative privileges) has sailed to the store windows and clicked on the download tab Update button. I received this error message that I couldn't fix:
"You must use an account with administrator privileges to install windows 8.1." Try connecting with the user of an administrator on this PC account and retry the update"
I am the only user of this computer and as such am probably the only person capable or able to be an administrator. Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Admin apex EDITION problem a user to the workspace with administrator privileges

    Hello

I use Apex 4.2 and 11.2 XE on a Windows Server.  Many applications work well.

Today I went to http:// (server) / apex/apex_admin to add a few users in a workspace (Workspace management / manage developers and users)

When I created a user when the user is Administrator = No and when the user is developer = no, everything worked fine.  When I subsequently edit the user, everything is fine.

When I created a user when the user is Administrator = Yes and when the user is developer = Yes, the user was created without problem, but later I couldn't edit this user.  When I clicked on the pencil to the user icon I got the error message: ORA-01841: (full) year must be understood between-4713 and 9999 and not be 0

At no point in the standard user or administrator / developer user I enter anything in the DEFAULT DATE FORMAT field.

As part of my diagnosis, I looked at the WWV_FLOW_FND_USER. Field DEFAULT_DATE_FORMAT.  I have confirmed that it is null for all users.

Could the UI for Apex_Admin also be written to another table somehow?  Just trying to think this through.

I don't know how I could have created this problem by using the user interface.  How can I modify this to the administrator / Developer users, I need to create?  I need to edit the table directly?  I hesitate to do so.

    Thanks for looking at this.

In Instance Apex Manager, under security settings, the maximum lifetime of password you defined is so high that when you add the last password change the number of days, it's beyond 31/12/9999 (the maximum date allowed in the Oracle database).  Reduce this to a reasonable value (even 10,000 days would be nice).

How your message regarding the functionality Microsoft Security Essentials?

[This isn't, but maybe she believes MSE can control or web limits access to the site and even though we know that it does not work, she may not be aware of this and think that it might help and thus him, how it relates.]  [She's here to help, not to be asked about the reason why it knows not whether or not, or how this issue relates to MSE - perhaps that's why she asked first place.]

    @ Elizabeth,.

MSE can not help with this problem (as you can probably answer to PA Bear).  Even if browsers can limit access to the sites, most can do under these broad categories limited as game or bad language but not 'all the gaming sites' (if you are able to find an add-on that adds this option but I couldn't not after watching for 45 minutes).

I believe that what seek you is something along the lines of Parental controls or Windows Live Family Safety (assuming that you have a version of Windows that supports these features).

Here's a good tutorial on how to use the Parental control: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial139.html.

For specific instructions, see how to block all games (even if some may pass through, but can then be blocked individually) in Windows 7 here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Choose-which-games-children-can-play.  For Vista, see here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Specify-which-games-children-can-play.

For Live Family Safety, then please see the following for assistance: http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions.aspx?productid=4 or the following for more information: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-family-safety.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Lost the double tap feature.  How can I reset?

After a loss of power when I restarted I lost a magic button function.  I used to be able to type slightly twice (not enough to click on the button) to simulate a single click (a full press). I can't find how to reset this option in preferences. How to restore tap double light (not click forced cushion)?

It is controlled via the mouse or Trackpad preferences. However, a loss of power can damage the HARD drive, so I would like to do the following:

    1. Use disk utility to repair permissions and the HARD drive.
    2. Reinstall OS X.

Fix the hard disk and permissions

Boot from your Snow Leopard installation disc. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the button continue. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu. After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. ID and car size) in the list on the left.  In the status area, you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is faulty or has failed. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the installer.

If THE reports errors, it cannot be resolved, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you do not have one of them or none of them can fix the disc, then you will need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS X.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive

    2 reinstall Snow Leopard

If the disc is OK then leave FROM and return to the installer.  Proceed to reinstall OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a new copy of Mac OS X, the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, elements of support and network preferences in the newly installed system.
