Windows 7: included Microsoft Games don't work

I recently bought a new Toshiba with Windows 7 (about two weeks ago).  Microsoft Games (Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, etc.) do not work.  When you try to open them, they will not appear on the bar of tasks or in the Task Manager.  All I have this problem or knows how to fix?

Hi Jez,

-Since when are you facing this problem?

-Don't you make changes to your computer before this problem started?

-This only happens with the games integrated?

-The games have already worked on this computer?

You can try to disable the function of games and turn it on, it is also good that uninstall the games and put it back.

To activate and deactivate the onWindows games

1. click theStart button, select Control Panel, clickprograms, and then, under programs and features, click Windows turn onor off features. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2 uncheck thegames check box, and then click OK.

This allows to uninstall the games.

To reinstall, restart the computer and follow the steps below:

1. click theStart button, select Control Panel, clickprograms, and then, under programs and features, click Windows turn onor off features. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. Select thegames check box, and then click OK.

Access the link below to learn more about the use of games in Windows 7:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Working-with-the-Games-folder

  • After re-installation of windows 7, some games don't work

    Hello world

I recently had to re - install windows 7 after a foolish personal mistake.
However, whenever I try to play a game, load, gets to a certain point the game stop responding. On the games, allowing control panel is selected. Ive removed and reinstalled a game and the problem persists. Some help would be appreciated. PS the specifications of laptop computers are both above the required game sheet, as Ive already played games before reinstalling windows

The only thing that comes to mind is that your DirectX files need to be updated. You can do this by using this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

  • Windows media Center and games does not work, and does not work error message d3d8thk.dll

my media library does not work and message d3d8thk.dll isn't continuous work to come.  How should I do?

D3d8.dll error message could apply to any program that uses Microsoft DirectX, most video games.  I suggest following the steps below to solve the problem.

1 restart your computer if you have not yet.

D3d8.dll error could be a stroke of luck and a simple restart could clear up completely.

    2. install the latest version of Microsoft DirectX.  Chances are, the upgrade to the latest version of DirectX will fix the d3d8.dll not found error.

Note: Microsoft frequently publishes updates of DirectX without updating the version number or letter, so don't forget to install the latest version even if your version is technically identical.

Note: The latest version of DirectX should be installed no matter if you are running Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP.  Installation can include DirectX9 and DirectX10 files but they run side-by-side without problem on all these operating systems.

    3. assuming that the latest version of Microsoft DirectX does not correct the error of d3d8.dll you receive, search for an installer of DirectX on your game or application CD or DVD.  Usually, if a game or other program uses DirectX, software developers includes a copy of DirectX on the installation disc.

Sometimes, but not often, the DirectX version, included on the disc is a better fit for the program than the last version available online.

4 uninstall the game or software program and then reinstall it again.  Something could have happened to the files in the program work with d3d8.dll and a reinstall might do the trick.

    5. restore the file d3d8.dll since the latest DirectX software package.  If the troubleshooting steps above have not worked to resolve your error d3d8.dll, try to extract the d3d8.dll individually from the downloadable package of DirectX.

I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

  • 3D games don't work well...

I've had a computer for a long time now, and I think that my parents got a new in 2000 about, and I had this one since then. I did read through the steps of the interview with Chad, but I don't think it's the same situation. (this is a Windows XP)
I am a person who likes to play games (First person shooters) S.F.P. as 'combat arms' and 'call of duty', but I try to read on my computer instead. Anyway the problem I have is that it will not play them. He'll play the old games like Unreal Tournaemnt or Quake 3, but if I try to play a new game of old call of suty and something like that, it freezes at the point where I need to turn my computer off and turn it back on, or the computer can not handle or something, and it restarts itself and custom work. I need help, because I got my computer fixed by my friend to dads, who was 1 of our old computers, but did nothing special, but it seemed to make things worse, because the upgrade of the computer with taps and other things disappeared, and it was back to the old version, but after some time we took it to the futureshop and they restrod all new with the exception of our saved files, but more to the point, I don't know what to do. Can I upgrade my computer, or buy a new one?

    Hi Temall!

When it comes to FPS, I'm a complete challenge. I finished the COD - Modren Warfare. It is amazing game. To play these games, you need really good material. You said that you bought this machine in 2000, is a companion of 9 years. O let go for a new machine.

    My recommendation for new machine.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHZ or more

RAM: 2 GB to 4 GB of DDR3 memory

    HARD DRIVE: 250 GB

Graphics card: nVidia Gforce 512 MB built in memory

That's it & you will be able to enjoy the performance...

  • I just downloaded the latest Windows updates, now online videos don't work on Firefox but on other browsers, does anyone else have this problem?

After that download the latest version of Windows Update, I found that I could not play videos on YouTube or other sites. Switching to other browsers I found that I could play these same videos now without any problems. So I did a system restore to determine if updates of Windows had hit video play using Firefox. The restore point has been updated with the day before the download of Windows has occurred. After System Restore has been completed I could now play videos using the Firefox browser.

To ensure that Windows Update has been the problem, I downloaded again the most recent Windows updates and once more could not play videos on any site using Firefox. System Restore has been used to put my computer on the eve again and once more the OE videos would play in the Firefox browser.

In fact, your answer took me in a different direction and I found this on the Adobe site:

The extension of RealPlayer for Firefox, the download and registration, has problems of compatibility with Flash Player 11.3. If RealPlayer is installed Flash Player content does not appear. YouTube provides an error message when you try to view a video.

To work around the problem, do the following:

       Start RealPlayer.

Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner and select Preferences.

Select Download & Recording in the left menu and deselect Enable Web Download & Recording for These Installed Browsers option.

Click OK and restart Mozilla Firefox.

Once I did this I could replay now videos in Firefox.

  • When you start firefox, it opens windows 50 or more white don't work

I upgraded to 5 FF. When I start the program quickly, open the windows 50 or more whites. It was unusable, so I uninstalled and tried to FF 4.01 and it has the same problem.

I could save it if you tell me where to download or just on Youtube if you want to.

It is possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and groups of tabs and all tabs open to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

    Why?

How can I fix these buttons?

    Hello

Satellite A300 - 1 GM belongs to the series of PSAG4E so you chose the update of the BIOS for this series of model?
Also in the BIOS, you can enable and disable the lighting. Check this box!

Lighting will also be controlled due to the added value package. You need to reinstall it and the Toshiba site, you can find a newer version:

  • The icon in the tray of the microsoft game keeps jumping to the left.

Since the upgrade from Vista to Windows7, I got a problem when you play Microsoft games. The icon that lays in the status bar keeps jumping to the left and flashing is seen with her. It seems that the game wants to minimize what he has done many times. I don't know how to stop this as this never happened in vista. I have updated all drivers for my software, including the graphics card. Can someone help me with what I or my little girl can't use the application of games.

    Hello

    1. the problem occurs only with the Microsoft games?

    2. did you of recent changes made to your computer before the problem?

    3. are you referring to the Explorer of games that are pre-installed in Windows 7 or Microsoft games that require intense graphics?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

Try pinning to the taskbar and check if the icons keep jumping around.

    Step 2:

Make the SFC scan on your computer to check if the problem persists. This is done to repair or recover any corrupt or missing system files.

    Step 3:

Put your computer in a clean boot State and check if the problem persists.

Note: Follow step 7 to restart the computer in normal mode.

    Step 4:

Create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

  • White all included Vista Games hang with card shuffle and its screen

    Hello

Have you met the danrdest thing I've ever seen with Vista Home Premium 32 bit...

All included Microsoft games (Solitaire... Spider Solitaire... etc... all 8 or 9 of them) can be started from their icons... But when the game starts to load, I hear a noise to shuffle the cards and the game hangs on a white screen after asking on the use of las score (in the case of spider solitaire).

I can't for the life of me think what I did to cause this error... This is the first time I've not been able to track down other users with the same problem.  I saw the cupboards is some people including the games hang on a black screen... but mine is on a white screen with this funny shuffle-like sound card.

Shuffle sound card (some think it's sound like a babbling-brook (stream)... that happens on all the games I've tried...

I already tried the most basic things like uninstalling and reinstalling games... Install the Vista SP1...  No change in this weird problem...

ANY ideas would be appreciated...  I'm proud of myself to be able to track down such things...

It has hair I left turn more grey...

    Thanks in advance!

    SD1

Well, I suggest you update your graphics and sound card drivers.   If this does not work, maybe DirectX must be reinstalled.  I guess that the partition table may be corrupted since it has a losing hand when he was asked about it, but I would have thought uninstalling and reinstalling would have cleared that.  I try different graphics drivers and see if it works for you.
