You say that the files will drive c but, check this out. When you start in Windows 7 it is listed as being installed on the 'C' drive and Windows Xp is on drive "D". If you start Xp a list as being installed on the 'C' drive and show Win 7 on drive "D". By default, Windows installs the reader 'C' no matter what you previously selected to be drive letter. In other words, Windows will identify the hard drive that you have chosen to settle in the 'C' drive Hope that makes sense.

  • Can I install 2 copies of Windows 7 on the same PC in a dual-boot configuration (using the same license key)?

I just bought Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack, with 3 upgrade licenses.

I update my 3 PCs at the House Windows XP to Windows 7.

I double on 2 of these PCs, boot Windows XP (for me, one for my wife) on different partitions. the two Windows installs fine activated using the same license (probably because they are on the same physical computer with the same hardware, and only 1 instance of Windows XP can be used at a time).

I like to create 2 different partitions, and install Windows on each and choose the one that start when I boot. It worked well in Windows XP. Can I do this with my new Windows 7 Family Pack?

My final configuration would have 1 PC with 1 partition and a new update to Win 7; and 2 PCs each dual-boot using the other 2 licenses.

Please calm down, the question is not so complicated (if you read the operating instructions / first license agreements).

    (1) If you want to cancel an upgrade and return to your old system under license (XP), you can do it. You can not use XP anymore, If you upgrade. But if you come back that the State of origin, you will have the same license as before.

    (2) with your Family Pack, you can spend 3 PC to Windows 7. 3 upgrade licenses = 3 licenses to upgrade. It's an interesting idea to use it to "5 installed on different partitions 5" because two of them are "on the same physical PC." However, you should know the rule "1 license is 1 pc." You use not here too artificial.

  • Cancel dual-boot configuration

Having a single drive with two partitions. Part. C: = old Win 2000 Server that no longer works, all the files have disappeared and a part. E: = Windows XP works fine. I want to clone part. E: a bigger HD. The problem is gone. C: has all initialization files. I know how to change the boot ini and I can't do a clean install. Can I just move the boot files to the PART E: and then clone to a newer drive so I don't have a Windows XP disc? GOLD: Can I edit the E: boot files, then delete C: and change the boot ini?

    Thank you, Vincent

  • Question about formatting a partition on a dual-boot configuration

    'C' I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    "D" I have Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit

The advice in an email from Avast to restart my business safe, it has now disappeared in an infinite reboot cycle.  The computer restarts just before arriving at the office.  I ran StartUp Repair three times and also I tried the system restore.  As a last resort, I tried to re - install Windows Enterprise, but get a blank screen (not quite black, dark gray) immediately after pressing any key to boot from CD/DVD screen.

Can anyone suggest the best course of action to return to my business?

As a last resort, get into the management of the computer, which is the safest action to take against partition "D" without disturbing the partition 'C' with Windows 7 Professional on this topic?  Can I format the "D" or just delete and start over?

All initialization information is stored on the C:\ drive, so you can go on management of drives, right click on the partition where Windows 7 Enterprise is installed and format.

  • Synchronization of time of Windows 7. Tracks update every week. How to change that to 5 min? __

I was able to install a task to do every 5 minutes but I do not know the location of the program that performs the update.

Thanks Khaled.  All this you said I already know.  What I don't know, is the name of the program and the location of the server time to update program.  If you have that I'll be able to schedule a task to update more than once a week.  Problem is my system clock is running fast 4-5 dry about an hour and requires that the software that I use the time to be specific to with in seconds so I would update to run every 5 minutes.

Here is the answer you are looking for RGretz. I give the answer fo Windows7 home premium. After entering administration tools and enter task scheduler, there is a drop down in the lower pane. Use the slider to the right to access. It should be the 3rd window down. Use the slider on this window and go down to "synchronize the time". Double-click the line for that, and it will open a window of three components. Click on "synchronize...". "(this is what will show 'Synchronize Time'). in the right pane, click 'properties '. Click on it and it will open 'SynchronizeTime Properties (Local computer). Click on the tab "triggers." The default value is "Weekly -" every Sunday at 01:00 Emphasise that, then click on the button 'modify' at the bottom of this pane. Will open a new window titled "change the shutter." Select the bubble fill-in "daily" in the "settings" section, and "Repeat task every:" in the "Advanced settings" section Select "5 minutes" in the menu drop-down and click 'OK' on the components that you can close the others. You're Golden then, or should be. I tried to figure this out for a while. Updates to electronic Manufacture\Computer

  • Unlike earlier versions, FF27.0.1 does not accept the root of a drive as the default download manager. How to change that?

I usually save downloads to the root of F:\ and who put in my options. Since version 27.0.1 came, Firefox ignores my parameter and default value is MyDocuments\Downloads.
Returning to the 26 version or previous fixes the problem and my downloads go to F:\, but updated to 27.0.1 brings back the problem.
A workaround is to create a subdirectory and save here, but I want to save to the root, as I always did before version 27.0.1.

I have an acer aspire 3690 I am trying to restore to factory settings and is only let me go back to a certain date all I want on that, that's what org. came on the computer and the internet I do not have any disk

Page 28 of the manual of your system describes how use the built in Acer eRecovery Management software to restore your system to factory settings.

Doing so will scan all your personal data and when you did, I think you need to configure your Internet connection again since the factory settings are unlikely to know everything about your current installation of Internet.

If you experience a problem with your system, I think I would fix rather whatever is the problem, but here's what Acer has to say about it:

    The manual is here:

    http://support.Acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?modelId=5

    This article reads as follows:

Recovery and restore features allow to restore or restore the system
a factory default image, leave a user created image or previously
created backups of CD and DVD. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for your Acer system.

    1. press on + or select Acer eRecovery Management of the
From Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.

    2. position yourself in the restoration and recovery page by selecting the button restore.

    3. Select the point of backup you want to restore from. You can also
choose to restore the system from a factory, to retrieve a default image
already created CD/DVD or reinstall applications and drivers.

  • Dual Boot Windows 7 32 & 64 bit

I am running W7 32 bit. I just installed a new 2 TB internal hard drive. Can I install W7 64 bit on the new drive and the dual boot the entire system (without doing anything for the installation of 32-bit) and if I can, that I have to reinstall the apps in 64-bit player?

the key that can be used with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 is designed to drive 1. You cannot use install both. 1 license, 1 installation, so choose wisely. If you want to install Windows 7 32 bit on another partition or another computer, you must purchase an additional license.

I want to create dual boot laptop (OS 2 in 1) in my laptop, but my internal hard drive reach maximum (3) logical partition for my windows operating system 7 is not allow me to create a new logical partition install win8 pro. I've planed to buy an external hard drive and connect with my laptop and install win8 in external hard drive and use win8 and 7. Is it possible? If possible how to create? Please give me instructions step by step.

    Hi Karthik,

If your hard drive has enough free disk space, you can install a newer version of Windows on a separate partition and keep the earlier version of Windows on your computer. It's called a multiboot or dual-boot configuration. Every time that you start your computer, you can choose which version of Windows to run. You can also install Windows 8 on an external hard drive and use it to dual boot.

You can see the Microsoft article below for more information about this.

    Install multiple operating systems (multiboot)

    I hope this helps.
