Windows 7 is not genuine after 5 years

I had my laptop Leonovo for more than 5 years. It was purchased through my IBM Corporation as part of my salary package

After the update I get this error "this copy of windows is not genuine.

I ver strong doubt that is the case with a Lenovo laptop.

I found my product key of Windows 7 under the battery.

Then I typed in the key when asked. It worked

  • Windows 7 not genuine after 5 years?

    Hello

I use my computer to MESH with Windows 7 installed for about 5 years now (probably to be closer to 6) but recently, the screen goes black and in the corner right of the screen, it says that this copy of windows is not genuine windows.

I looked online and that you may not know how to solve this problem, apart from a temporary fix on youtube

The computer came not with an instillation disk as has been installed by the manufacturer. The computer has the Windows sticker with the product key I have tried to enter, but continue to get the error messages. I have run the real diagnostic tool (which appears to show the same product than the sticker key)

So, I installed windows 8 with dual boot.

But after the successful Windows installation 8, when I started my laptop with windows 7 OS, it shows that the copy of windows is not genuine.

    What should I do?

How can I get my windows 7 back as it was?

    Please help me... :'(

Download and run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool:
    Download the tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062
Post your results (copy button) and paste the results in your answer.

As a starting point, the first thing you should check is the section to three figures on the number of product ID, if it corresponds or is included in one or two digits of the examples below, you have probably a MSDN or TechNet product key. "These keys must not be sold for retail use.

    065 066 067, 068, 069 to Ultimate, box 220 for professional and 230, 231, 232 area for Home Premium,

There are probably others, but they should be close to those that are displayed"
(How to be certain - download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool listed above).

Note: Though that illegally sold MSDN/TechNet allow product key for activation of more than one
(usually 5 or 10), so these keys can be sold "several times" before activation may fail.

    Hi Kenj,

This problem may occur if you perform a hardware important change to your computer, such as upgrading the hard disk. If a major hardware change requires activatingWindows once again, you will be notified and will have three days to activate your copy of windows.

Another common cause of failed Windows validation occurs when you try to install on more computers than your license allows. For example, if you have purchased a copy of windows, installed on the PC more than one online validation may fail because the product key has already been used on another computer. Normally, the rule for most windows copies is that only one copy of Windows can be installed on a PC. Go toMicrosoftVolume Licensingto learn what your license allows.

I suggest you refer to the suggestions provided by Andre Da Costa replied on 9 December 2012 in the following link and check out them.

Generally, the laptop has been preloaded with Toshiba picture and the Windows operating system is already activated

  • Windows 8 will not activate after 1 year of service

Purchased a HP Desktop for over a year and it came with Windows 8 (not happy) and it worked fine until a week ago.  All of a sudden when I turn on PC, I get a window that makes me go to the PC game up and says Windows will not turn on, please try again later or contact MS help.  At the same time all products Office has stopped working and I cannot print pdf files either.  Recent activity that can be connected; Norton came on PC but I never signed, I signed up 2 weeks ago. Norton does not feature anti-adware so I also loaded System Mechanic.  I had to because my machine had become infected with adware which was causing slowdowns and annoying pop ups.  How to solve this problem so that Windows is reactive?

A few other items of interest:

I always had problems with the download of updates to TurboTax for Windows updates, sometimes work, most of the time not.  Usually, it will look like this works, but progress will be zero for hours if let you it go.

    Thank you for your help.

  • I started Windows 7 Windows 10 and told me that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine.

    * Original title: Windows 10-7

I ran Windows 7 for 2 years without any problem. I have upgraded to Windows 10 but he could not recognize my CD/DVD burner, so I started Windows 7. Now, after about 6 weeks, I am told that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks to everyone who responded with helpful advice. I finally solved myself by going back to the shop that originally installed Win7 on my computer. They have removed the "non-genuine" copy that I had run without problem for 2 years and installed a copy of 'authentic '.

    Thanks again.
