Windows 7 not waking from sleep mode

Hello

Lately, my DELL Inspiron 580 (Windows Home Basic) caused problems when I try to take out the "sleep mode".

The symptoms are:

* Moving the mouse, the LED monitor and Tower remain 'orange '.

* When I press a key on the keyboard, the Tower starts to emit a higher than normal Purring noise level, it seems to be the fan, but I'm not sure. Monitor LED lights too but shortly after, the monitor switches to "energy saving" mode and doesn't. The Tower continues to emit "fan noise" and its LED remains white, but it does not start, or so it seems that the monitor remains dark.

* In this State, if the Menu button on the Dell monitor is presses pressed, it flashes a message indicating that no signals are received from the PC.

* If I turn off the Tower, the Tower power button, and try a bit later, the PC starts, but after a few attempts.

I would be grateful to receive advice and suggestions.

Hello Aksa,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

You made any hardware or software changes on your computer before the show?

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

This problem can occur for the following reasons:

-Powers are damaged or incorrect.
-BIOS reduces power to the port to which the input device is connected.
-Point keyboard in Control Panel is not configured to wake the computer when you press a key on the keyboard.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:
Run Troubleshooter of power and control.

  • Windows 8 I lose the internet connection after waking from sleep mode

My wife has a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows 8. When he wakes from sleep mode, it detects all wireless signals. If it restarts the computer, it detects our own wireless, as well as all the neighbors signal. Is there a simple way to correct this trend? She dislikes having to reboot the computer whenever she wants to use it.

Very interesting what's happening on a new machine. Are you sure the original wireless network card driver has not been updated (i.e. through Windows Update or its equivalent at Toshiba?)

I guess that the wireless network card driver doesn't handle well "message sent" by the system when it changes the power state change leading to a 'dormant' device (in this case the WiFi network) on the revival of the fashion Watch (same problem with the Hibernate?).

Not knowing your model Toshiba, or wireless network card let me suggest you try the following if options exist for 1 # *:

    1. Go to the section of the network adapters and Device Manager. Right-click your wireless card, and select Properties. Go to the power management tab, uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device and check allow this device to wake the computer , and then save your changes
    2. Go to the control panel and Power Options to change the parameters of the plan (for the selected power Plan), and then select change advanced power settings / wireless adapter / power save Mode / connected and select value is A maximum Performance otherwise affect this value

    * Not sure about my translation of terms/options used above - I am not in an American version

If the above does not help I'd you make investigations with Toshiba on this issue as the owner of a new machine, you're probably eligible for a level of support.

+ Feel free to bring your network card and Toshiba models - this helps in search of possible measures and troubleshooting. And it could help other people if solve you the problem sooner or later...

    Hope this helps

    See you soon

  • Monitor intermittently do not wake from sleep mode

I have a new Pavilion 500 - 205t Windows 7 Desktop (two weeks).  Two days earlier, after the computer is in mode 'sleep', the computer would wake up, but the screen would not.  I contacted HP Support and they said not to put the computer in mode 'sleep', but to turn it off instead.  They said that the computer could accumulate a static charge which could prevent the monitor to wake up from sleep mode.  Their solution was to force a shutdown by pressing the power switch, unplug at the back of the Tower, by pressing the power switch for 20 seconds, plug everything back in and then turn on the computer.  The monitor worked correctly then wake up from sleep mode.  For the last two days, the computer would wake properly from sleep mode.  Today, the same thing happens again.  This time, I turned off the computer and then he turned back to (without unplugging everything) and the monitor worked correctly.

    Here's my question:

Is it really a static problem? (It has been cold and dry here for several weeks and static is high)  Or I have a hardware problem or software that needs to be fixed?  Thank you for your time.

I think I found the solution to this problem for my computer.  I changed the settings for sleep or sleep 'Hybrid' or 'Hibernate' is allowed.  Since then, I have not experienced the problem.  I also changed what does the power button, so that when I press the power button, the computer shuts down normally.  This prevents a "forced" shutdown if the problem happens again.

Thanks again Bill, for your time.  I mark this problem is resolved.

    Have you tried...

  • Windows 7 automatically wakes from sleep mode

I had problems with Windows 7 64-bit Professional automatically wake sleep mode. If I put the computer to sleep then come back a few hours later, he is still awake. I tried to disable the ability of the network card, mouse and keyboard to wake the computer, but he always wakes up alone. I also ran 'powercfg - devicequery wake_armed' cmd and it does not display a single device. Is it possible for a current program reactivate Windows, and if so, is it possible to understand that one? I want Windows to wake up only when I push the power button.

You see a bug reported several times by some users. They are all using ACPI and pilots the "chip" requiring an update for Win 7 to successfully use the sleep function.

  • x 220 does not resume from sleep mode

A few questions posted here look identical, but I did find something similar.

About 10% of the time, the machine does not sleep.  When you open the cover, the power led Nightlight INDIGLO®, caps lock light, LED, mic mute light and light through a Flash every seven seconds or more.  No messages appear on the screen.  By pressing the power button does nothing.  After a forced shutdown (power longpress button), and then pressing the power button a times, I gives me the message on windows does not shut down properly with the choice to start in safe mode.

I'm not sure of the cause... I've updated everything that I can think of, but the problem persists (on an irregular basis).  The battery is too loose in the slot?  A jiggling of the batterery during sleep will cause an abnormal termination?
