Windows 7 password reset notification

I'm running Windows 7 (32-bit) Home Premium SP1 in a Virtual Machine on my Apple iMac using the Parallels software.  When I open Windows 7 recently I was presented with a window saying my password needs to be reset.  When I installed Windows 7 in April, I've never set up a password since I am the only user of this machine.  On my Windows PC under Windows 7, I do not have a password configured and have never seen such notification since installing Windows 7 years.

On this window reset I have anything that either are not entered and just clicked OK & he disappeared.
Any idea that what makes it to appear in the first place?  BTW I didn't put a password on the side of Mac of the iMac.
Thanks, JIm

Thanks Oberwald.  After pressing Enter, he says "the command completed successfully."

Not that I want to become a Star of MS community, but what this command say Windows 7 for 'not doing '?  Before that your suggestion of the person I spoke with never heard of a password reset notification for Windows 7.  Thank you.  Jim

Steps 1 to 4 of the procedure in my previous response got you on the Windows Console. You can now type the command:

NET user "user %%nom.
The command will give you a summary of the different settings for your account, for example when you finally connected or when the password was last changed. One of the parameters said how long you are allowed to keep the same password. I think that the default time period is 2 months. The command I gave you removed entirely, the time-out for all accounts. If it worked for you, then you must mark my answer as an "answer" to your question.
If anyone don't that you talked had already heard about the password timeout mechanism then you probably speak to system administrators.

  • Key to Windows 7 password reset problem

I have created a key to reset Windows 7 password on a USB key according to the instructions. When I tested it, the computer he labeled as being in drive F, but he gave only the insert options in the G or H drive. The only way I could make it work was to use two players to jump. Then he would see the reset key in the drive I have and I would go forward. How can I fix?

  • Is it possible to make a password reset disk for windows 7 by using windows 8?

    Original title: password reset disk

Is it possible to make a password reset disk for windows 7 by using windows 8. The reason why I ask this is because our Toshiba satellite laptop was stolen when our House was robbed. Fortunately the police recovered the laptop, but the password has been changed and we cannot use it. In the meantime, we have replaced the old laptop with a new one that has windows 8. I made a password reset disk using this, but it won't work on the old laptop.

    any advice would be great

    Best regards, Ian

    Hi Ian,

You can create a password reset disk only when you are able to log on or access Windows 7 computer and after you have created a password for the same.

Windows 8 password reset disk can be used only in Windows 8 computer where you created the password and not for Windows 7.

You must create a Windows password reset disk before you forgot your password. You must also create a new password reset disk when you change your password in Windows.

If you the administrator password are changed and is not a password reset disk or another administrator account, you will not be able to change or reset the password.

I need a password reset on an old e-mail account linked to my xbox 360. (the enamel of related Xbox Live account). • My dell Inspiron 1150 windows xp password son has locked and the screen will not change, we do not know the password or have we not the reset disk, how can connect to reset password

My dell Inspiron 1150 windows xp password son has locked and the screen displays the dell logo and says that I need the master password or administrator, my son can't remember and we do not have the reset disk, is it possible to get and reset the password or enter the system

If you are using XP Home Edition, the built-in Administrator account probably doesn't have a defined password. You can start in safe mode, where this account will be selectable when connecting. It allows to connect and change the password of your normal connection.

To start in safe mode, keep hitting F8 twice a second after turning on the PC until you get the start menu where safe mode is selectable by the up/down arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

If you are using XP Professional, try to connect using the built-in Administrator account. You don't need to do it in safe mode (although you can if you wish). If your normal login screen is a display of the user symbol and hit ctrl-alt-del twice to get to login to text entry. Type administrator as the user name and try a blank password.

  • Unable to access computer because the account password for Windows Vista has been forgotten and don't have a password reset disk/hard to find ways to restore the system... Help please

    Hello
I'm stuck on the screen on my computer for my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. The password to the user account has been lost, and now I am unable to access my computer. I don't have a created password reset disk so I can't reset the password. I searched these forums and seems the most effective way is to run a system restore to a time where I did have a password for my account. Fortunately for me, I did an automatic update of Windows that created a system restore point literally moments before I put the password, so I should be able to get access to my computer once I figured out how to get system restore to work. The advice I found on other forums do not seem to work, because I'm in my Windows vista operating system disc, but no screen is coming up with 'Repair your computer', which indicate the steps happen. I need assistance to find another way to run the system restore on boot menus/Vista/DVD CD. Thank you.

Go to Bestbuy or other PC shop. They can fix it for you. (Could I have so I am not allowed to post these alternative instructions.)
