Windows 7 Pro downgrade to home edition

I really wish can I downgrad my Windows 7 Pro to the edition of hospitality, every step of the way, it gives me headaches with Access Denied, so much time and so frustrating, is that this conversion is possible anyway? Considering the hours I need to clean the registry from a program that could not be uninstalled manually, except sometimes it won't let me even delete entries and you can understand my frustration with this Pro edition.

Decommissioning will not solve the problem. You must resolve all that is initially denied access issues now.

Reset the security permissions:

One option is to reset your default security permissions by running the following command:

secedit/configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf/db defltbase.sdb / verbose

For more information, you can see KB 313222.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/313222

Also be aware of the following:

«.. . command line is no longer able to reset all default security settings and can even result in the operating system becomes unstable. »

If this does not resolve the problem, your installation can be irreparably and the only other option is to reinstall them all. As you may know, there is a recovery disk. If it has not been provided, you will need to contact your employer who sold you the computer.

If you want to downgrade the security permissions, please see the following:

    Hi dezertdawg,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Msvcr71.dll errors are caused by situations that lead to the removal or corruption of the msvcr71 DLL file. In some cases, the msvcr71.dll errors might indicate a
problem of registry, a virus or malware problem, or even a hardware failure.

You can use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to ensure that the system files are intact and replace the file. Follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.

    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    3. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

  • Try to configure Windows XP Pro and Vista Home Premium to connect wireless to a field internal.

Hello. I recently graduated from a COMPUTER course that was very intense, but I don't think that it covered all the basics for me quite challenge the MCSA exams. In order for me to do, I bought a bunch of MS Press books covering ISA Server, Server 2003, Exchange, etc. My journey made us buy copies of Server 2003 and XP Professional, so that we can continue to practice at home.

One of the things I wanted to do has been implemented a network in my home, using the software I have (not about to try 2008, although I think that one of the books I ordered comes with a version of a test - but it is in a game for the MSITP exams).

This is how I currently have my network configuration. Currently, everything is wireless. I have 1 spare computer that I use as DC with active driectory.

Currently I have a router D-Link DIR 655 (located in the basement) which acts as a gateway to the internet server and dhcp on my network and WPA2-PSK encryption use.

I have a laptop with Windows XP Pro top (that I gave to my wife - old laptop I have baught strictly for the course, I took), and it is completely wireless. It is located on the ground floor.

I have an office (located on the 2nd floor) using Vista Home Premium 64-bit. It's wireless.

There is also a network of printers laser color next to the router in the basement, connected via an ethernet cable.

On the main floor is also my Wii, which connects wireless.

So, as you can see, it's a mixture of differnet devices connected through my router.  I have the Wii or the printer to connect to the domain specifically. The printer must be accessible to computers on the domain, but the wii should just be able to connect to the internet via the router.

The spare box I have kicking around, I put 2003 on server and install active directory. I will also implement via this network storage server. I would like to put up to control the accounts of users of my wife and myself and that it uses roaming profiles.

This works very well when it connects directly through, but how to configure something like this works wirelessly? I read something on another forum in which is setting up a wireless bootstrap, to authenticate against a Radius Server, and then log in to the domain. However I don't have the money to spend to get ISA Server.  The server will be basically be there just to provide roaming profiles and to store things out of our systems, incase we have problems with one of our computers. We could set up something for our own internal e-mail in the future, but since we live in the same House, it seems rather useless at the moment lol maybe set something in the future to let the other note or purchase or to do list. But for now, just want to configure what initially appears to be a single domain with roaming profiles.

Everyone has tried to do that? Connection of the wireless networks in a field, with a router provides the address and gateway?

    Carlo

  • Windows 8 Pro Downgrade to Windows 7

    Hello

I think to my laptop for the upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro. But, if after I've upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and I do not like Windows 8, can return to Windows 7?
I heard, Windows 8 Pro can downgraded to Windows 7 Professional.

Note: I don't want to go back to my Windows 7 Ultimate. Because I don't have the Windows 7 system image. In addition, my Windows 7 Ultimate is not authentic, and I want to replace it with real operating system (upgrade to Windows 8) and downgrade to Windows 7 Professional so I don't like Windows 8. Yes, do I have to pay again or just pay the cost of upgrading to Windows 8?

You need to buy a disc valid/legitimate win7/license

  • Microsoft Windows 8 PRO Downgrade to Windows 7 PRO

    Greetings,

This post is more than a complaint about Microsoft INABILITY to support its biggest business customers, in the hope that someone at Microsoft will really help me, instead of giving me the evasive that was given to me for the last 3 days...

I bought 100 Dell Vostro MT270 i3 Machines. All came with pre-installed Windows 8 PRO...

We have problems with Internet Explorer 9 and above with our Cloud National environment in which Microsoft Axapta 2012 runs.

Over the 3 days I tried to get in on the good service in Microsoft ranks to eventually get the product key of Windows 7 PRO for these OEM installed machines. I even offered to provide supporting documents (invoices and delivery as proof of my purchase slips)

Every department I got through where was forwarded to, listened to my story and informed me that I needed to talk to another Department.

Finally, this afternoon I decided to call Microsoft States in the hope of some kind of miracle... Instead, I lost 40 minutes of international calls from South Africa to be told that I had to talk to the Department of volume licensing for OEM pre-installed Machines?

Finally, after that be go asked me for our partner number or software assurance.

Unfortunately for me, our group Enterprise Architect was not available to give me this info. Furthermore, I was not ready to waste any more time or money on call international USA.

I read on the Net that to downgrade from Windows 8 PRO to Windows 7 PRO I need my own media (check), and a Windows 7 product key to complete install (check).

The problem here is I can't use a product key Windows 7 PRO currently in use on a work machine, and I have certainly not 100 old Windows 7 PRO Machines...

All I need is that Microsoft provide me 100 license keys for this downgrade or a unique product key I can activate 100 times.

It's really not that complicated a situation, however everyone I talked to has made it seem like they must move heaven and Earth to assist me.

This isn't how you support your customers Microsoft!

If there is someone who can help me with my problem please reply...

  • My Civilization II does not work in Windows 7. It worked before on XP in both XP Pro and XP Home edition.

Now it starts normally but when I try to build the first cityh it says, "Civilization II has stop working." A problem caused the blocking of the work programme. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "How can I make it work on Windows 7?

    brooklynjon,
Yes XP mode is only for Windows 7 full or professional edition.  The system requirements for this game is Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.  There is nothing more I can suggest to try to get this working.  You can search bing for older games.  There are sites that update 'classic' older games to run on newer systems.  You can look into this option.

  • DELL refuses to honor the Windows 8 Pro downgrade rights

XPS13 (early 15) purchased for the CFO.  No. 7 Pro achievable so I bought a Pro 8 model with the intention to exercise my downgrade rights.

Spent 4 hours shoehorning 7 Pro plus all the drivers on it.  Last step is activation.

Try to activate and call Microsoft by them Backgrounder:

They tell me to call the OEM as only the OEM can make OEM key.

Call Dell (politely and patiently) over and over again and get:

    -hooked upward on

    -told to call Microsoft

-said to return the system and order a version of Windows 7 (does not exist)

-said to order Windows 7 Media (does not exist)

-a said several times by several representatives that Dell has a 'special' OEM license that does not include downgrade rights.

How the hell do you expect Dell maintain the SMB space (i.e. people not their operating system volume licensing) with this skin and * - and - bull story?

Nobody knows the correct channel at Dell to get this very basic need met?

Right of demotion for the license OEM Dell Windows 8/8.1 Professional requires a Dell Windows 7 Professional reinstallation DVD order to use the OEM System locked preinstallation. See here where I explain licensing and how SLP activation works more in detail:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/a-clean-install-of-Windows-7/the-OEM-or-retail-license-and-product-activation-Windows-Vista-7/

License OEM is a minefield and with Microsoft break the digital distribution of windows 7 that it becomes even more difficult.

I have a Satellite A40-702, use a full version of XP pro it gets exactly 70% of the copy of the files before installation and then I get a message saying: could not copy c:\windows\system32\dxdiagn.dll. I can ignore the file but I have the same problem with other DLLs.

Any suggestions would be grately appreciated.

    Hello

I agree with Mike. Maybe is the problem on the Microsoft CD-ROM. Try to get the other, make a partition with enough free space, format it correctly, and try the installation again.

  • Windows Explorer freezes in Vista Home Edition

Windows Explorer stops working when moving the files from one folder to another, removing files, when I put something in the trash. It comes from the dialog box showing how much time remaining. I have to do a Ctrl, alt, delete to open the file manager and then select end task. The files are where I put them, but the dialog box will remain forever!

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?

I can not get something to sync with windows media player help what should I do?

    Hi rusty58,

    (a) if it works well before? You get a specific error message?

    (b) you are trying to synchronize how exactly? Which portable device do you use?

If your device's storage capacity is more than 4 gigabytes (GB) and your entire library can fit on the device, Windows Media Player default Auto-Sync. If you accept this option, your entire library will be copied to your device.

If the storage capacity of your device is less than 4 GB or your entire library can fit on the device, Windows Media Player default manual synchronization. If you accept this option, whenever you want to add or remove items from the device, you have to perform several steps.

Set up a device to sync in windows media player, follow them steps mentioned in the link below:

  • Satellite L40 - 14N: no sound with Windows XP Pro downgraded

    Hello fellow owners of Tosh

I just got my L40 - 14N slow Vista to XP, which went well, to a point.

All the drivers I used comes from the Toshiba web site, including the * "Realtek High Définition Audio Codecs R1.84" * it did not work. If I go into Device Manager all the yellow dots mark are now gone! But I have no sound and when I enter the control panel of configuration/sounds it is indicating "No. Audio Device.

He had the same problems or ideas would be great.

    JC

PS. I have also the wi - fi light does not work, not really fussed on this subject, it worked on Vista!

    It's easy.
I've seen many users with the same issue.
The problem is that you didn t install the patches from Microsoft XP.

Patches are needed for the operation. First you must install the KB888111 and KB835221 hotfix before you install the audio driver.

Maybe you should take a look here also:
