Windows 7 Professional "Sleep Mode" is not available

Hello

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional with a customized upgrade. But now, there is no choice to sleep in the power settings (it's just gray rather than black). It is also not available in the settings of power either. only, stop and put into hibernation. I have a laptop and find it more convenient to use the "sleep mode" when I close the lid rather than hibernation. How can I fix that it's getting boring now...
Thanks :)

Hello aust_09,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

This happens usually when your graphics card driver is not compatible.
Try checking to determine which States are at your disposal:

-Click on Start Orb > type cmd in the search box > right-click on cmd in the above results > click on run as administrator of
-At the command prompt, type powercfg-a > press enter

Read the results to determine which sleep states available

You can also try to visit your manufacturer's website to find the correct drivers.

Hope this helps Chris.H

If you want to change Windows Media Player Mini Player mode, then follow the suggestions listed below.

Right-click on an open in the taskbar area Windows (such as the system clock), point to toolbarsand then click Windows Media Player.

This activates the function and should only be run once. A check mark appears next to Windows Media Player to indicate that it is turned on. To switch to mini player in the future, simply click on the button cut in the drive.

    Hello

Fitrst ensure that the printer has the latest firmware:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04083718

More don't forget to connect its completely directly to a wall outlet and not by some power strips, surge protectors, etc.

If the same results persists, try temporary disconnect a cable from the back of the printer in order to isolate any possible cause (e.g. fax, USB cable, etc.), remove one cable at a time and to check for the difference.

I suggest starting with telephone wires, telephone line condition as example may prevent the printer from sleep remaining.

Please let me know the results,

You must go to the HP site & get a Windows7 compatible driver, when it exists.

You can also try to make older in this version of Windows programs and see what the Windows 7 Compatibility Center says of this printer.

Otherwise, you can try the search on the HP LaserJet p1008 in this forum & internet generally for all those who have found a workaround using the printer, despite the absence of a driver that is compatible with Win7.

I'm having a similar problem and wonder what the final steps / solution?

When I tried this with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit does not recognize the H.D.

I also read KB and think it doesn't look good for the installation of the driver.

If must go to AHCI at all and what I said is that AHCI mode is for the correct entry for drivers on the disc. and if it raises a question?, if it is impossible to install windows initially in AHCI how is that windows has been installed correctly at all?

My system is going to be the motherboard Asus M5A99X, Six cores AMD 1090 t., 12 GB ram, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I have also had similar problems with my Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/Usb 3.0 is the original built the motherboard and is the motherboard present until I have find this and am hesitate to disassembly and reconstruction with the new M5A99X.

    Here's what I posted on my Asus Forum;

    http://VIP.ASUS.com/Forum/view.aspx?ID=20120422012743839&SLanguage=en-us&board_id=1&model=M5A99X%20EVO

I just bought this new M5A99X now (previous motherboard has been renovated and has no sound, no disk support, from Newegg.com) from Microcenter and I hesitate to start tearing down and rebuilding of my custom version until I have find this AHCI configuration.
On my previous motherboard, I tried this and it do not see the HARD drive.

It's confusing, because if one thing works another doesn't 0_o

    I read the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976 on AHCI and;

What is appropriate for the correct configuration? SATA and AHCI first, then if the AHCI drivers are not loaded, then again on AHCI (immediately) and then keep in AHCI or sata and SATA when?

When I read it; http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/922976 it seems to suggest that I have to install mode SATA, then REGEDIT. problem is that if my computer falls down before that I still have the chance to do it then what?

I do not currently make a Raid Config just a normal installation on a Seagate beracutta 2 TB 6 GB/s hard drive.

I have rebuilt since the system and it was easier than I thought that the new motherboard was set as the default AHCI. When I installed windows there is a driver load option and clicking while I was able to load the AHCI driver from the DVD player. the old motherboard there are a lot of other steps and it's more than the new motherboard diffacult. It was so much better in my other post on the forum, and thanks to these people http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/87adffb0-e498-4834-abca-cae6905492e2 response

all other replies to this post were of no use to me and so I hope that I have helped those who were also trying to understand this. THA post above that says he suggested to install windows 8 and this post has nothing to do with windows 8. forum message header said WINDOWS 7! where the reason why I make my answerts of the technet forums instead! Trying to sell a BONE? Im just trying to get my work and try to sell me a new OS is not going to happen with these existing answers.

I don't have to wonder why, in one of the previous answer, so-called, was told not to post my other post on the forum. but there again question me answers in this forum.

There are people who are eager to build computers and try to understand this thing of AHCI driver.

on the old motherboard, it was not so easy to do. I wonder why Microsoft has a processor intel AHCI driver built in? and not as an AMD one to be recognized by the operating system.

  • Windows 7 goes into sleep mode when not in service

Computer completely locked up all night, had to make a stop/reboot power strip, now everything works fine, but it won't in standby mode when not in service, regardless of the settings I can give it in the control panel

I want to emphasize this happened after I downloaded rage radio, although I've uninstalled it quickly after realizing I was didn't want or need and I loved all the extra stuff that goes with it.   Have no idea if they are related or not...

I checked for updates of driver in the Device Manager specially for the new mouse I had installed.  He said that the device was working properly.

I did the boot as described in the previous post, with no result.

Not having anything better to do, I decided to try reinstalling the original mouse (disconnect the new mouse from the USB port and plug the original mouse) starting the computer working properly.

There is clearly some kind of conflict with the new mouse, but I have no idea what it could be.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help.  I'm happy to have solved the problem!

  • Windows Vista's sleep mode after 20 minutes while playing PC games even though my power settings are set to NEVER.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you restart the computer from sleep? It back to windows, such as the release of sleep or does go through the normal boot process?

2 have you done any recent software or the hardware changes on your computer?

    3. don't you face the problem only by playing games?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to run a full scan of your computer and check.

    Microsoft Security Essentials

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

Note: If infections are detected during the scan, it is possible that infected files would be deleted.

    Method 2:

I also suggest you to start your computer in a clean boot state, and check if all third-party software could be the cause. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Don't forget to return the computer to normal after completing the troubleshooting by following the steps described in step 7.

    Method 3:

I also suggest that you perform a clean boot material to check if the problem is caused by any device.

Follow these steps to perform a clean boot material:

    a. disconnect all external devices.

    b. start the computer in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    c. click 'Start', type 'DEVMGMT.» SMC"in the search text box and press ENTER."

    d. expand "graphics cards".

    e. right click on your graphics card, select "Properties"

    f. click the "driver" tab, click on disable (disable the selected device). Click OK

    g. use the same method to disable other devices such as: map of the sound card, Modem, network, CD - R drive. Note Some devices not available must be disabled.

    h. restart the computer.

After you turn off the devices, start in normal mode and try to activate the devices one by one and check which device is causing the problem.
