Why my programs are stopping on their own
I just upgraded from XP to windows 7 Home premium 6-bit (something I was lothe to do first)
Since Monday that didn't have any other problems, Ive reformatted twice already and its really me off ticking, my computer was basically unusable for the last 5 days and Im spending all evening after work to try to fix it.first: System specs
ASRock 960 - GX
AMD athlon II x 3 450 (3.20 ghz)
GForce 8800 GT
4 GB corsair RAM
1 80 gig HARD drive (ide) with windows installed and nothing else
1 sata HDD (650 GB) for other programs and filesIll say in advance, my partner uses a platform identical to mine with win 7 and has no problems and all the components worked fine when I was on XP, so I doubt they are defective, all of a sudden
Great list of questions
First of all - programs are tightening down / crashing whenever they feel like it, some time, a program runs for hours, others a few seconds, as well as on most programs, once it crashes I have to restart windows to get it working again, this happens on games old and new, as well as firefox and even MS office
second - many programs are not uninstall correctly, they leave behind trace files that can not be found, deleted or uninstalled via Programs Manager, they also stop the program to be reinstalled, 2 examples are MS silverlight and Wirless Xbox receiver
Third - BSOD. Others that have occurred so far that ive had about 10 in 1 week, few were random while using the PC by using restore system (after the restart), most of the time that I get all them is a message saying ' preparing for dump memeory "if I saw one that was nothing other than giberish.
Finally - display issues, I run dual screen and have for years, he seems to think that my monitors are set up the wrong way round / 7 will change my primary monitor each time than in quite awhile, as well as its resolution, which means that I have to go on the side of the right hand of my right monitor to come on the left side of my left monitor as well as this, he also sometimes decides my theme and the colors are not good enough and a grey shabby with default background by default.as I said ive, ive reformated twice already ive checked so many drivers I can find and update all aspects I see but nothing so far has stopped remotly even above
If someone could offer some advice it would save me a lot of time and mental health.
George
Hi George,.
I suggest you to check your message in private.
Sometimes, your computer is significantly slower or programs "hang up" when you access some files. This problem can occur because there are errors on your hard drive.
You can solve the problem by using the check disk tool in Windows 7. Check disk can identify and automatically fix file system errors and make sure that you can continue to load and write data from the hard drive.
Check your hard drive to find errors in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2641432/en-us
Check a drive for errors
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors
Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost
Hope this helps, if the problem persists we know that we will be happy to help you.

Original title: exceptions to firewall
Can someone explain how I have after uncheck the programs in the list of windows firewall exceptions, they are still able to maintain an internet connection? I use XP sp3.
1. what makes you think that this unnamed programs are still able to maintain an Internet connection?
2 Windows Firewall blocks unsolicited incoming connections. Thus, for example, if you (or malicious software), set up a FTP server running on your computer, Windows Firewall will block an application from the Internet on your computer that are trying to establish a connection and download some of your files.
However, when your web browser sends a request to a Web site server to load a page, incoming web server traffic is allowed because it's in response to a request made on your computer.
This distinction between the incoming and outgoing traffic is why some people insist that the third-party firewall, which usually block/monitor of traffic in both directions is required. The scenario is that you inadvertently introduce malware on your computer (in any number of ways), and then the malware "phones home" to establish a link with the bad guys, who continue to do what they want on your computer.

Hello
1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?
Follow these steps and check if they help.
Step 1:
I would say you rebuild the icon cache and check if the problem persists.
a. press the keyboard Windows logo key combination + R to bring up the Run dialog box.
b. type cmd and press ENTER to open the command prompt window.
c. in the command prompt window, type the following commands pressing ENTER after each line:
Taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
attrib-h "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
del "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
Explorer.exed. this restart Windows Explorer and rebuild the cache icons as needed.
Step 2:
Test the issue in a new user account.

Windows with Yahoo mail.
I use windows mail and put so once I go to windows mail notes are deleted from the Yahoo Server. Now all of a sudden, they go in the trash of Yahoo instead of disappering. I use Yahoo mail for junk and spam of the screen, empty the trash from Yahoo, then open the remaining notes with Windows Mail after the release of Yahoo. This has just begun. It is not clear if you use a POP3 server or an IMAP account - it sounds as if it were an IMAP. I don't know how messages get tossed into the trash from Yahoo rather than be removed. You could try to remove the account, closing and reopening of Winmail opener and then adding the new account. This resolve sometimes strange questions. Also check interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

Original title: MIcro Cookbook 5.5 install problems on Windows 7
When I try to install a recipe program I get this message. This version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are running. Check the system information of computers to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or a or x 64 (64-bit) version of this software and then contact the editor. I knew how to do this job of file transfer to the 32 bits of the 64 folder, but it won't let me install the program. This software is no longer made. The program is Micro Cookbook 5.5
Do not transfer you files x 86 or x 64, that simply do not work and other issues.
The program is designed for Windows 9, and if you have a version of win7 64 bit and the origonal is a 16-bit program, which she may very well, it will not install or run on 64-bit PC, so err msg you see.
If the installation of the drive try this, locate the setup.exe, rt click & Select compatibility and select Windows 9 *.

An accident I had to wipe my 'C' drive and re-install Windows 7. I want to reinstall Photoshop Elements 9 and Prime Elements 9. Both programs are listed on my product page on the Adobe website, but not on the "orders" page (where I normally téléchargerais programs from Adobe, I bought). How can I get the download?
you have an incomplete (less than 1.7 GB to 1.8 GB) download 7z. you need to re-download this file.
If you have a constant problem either try another browser, use a stable internet connect or use a download manager.
