WINDOWS 7 STARTER/ACER ASPIRE ONE UPDATE HELP

I have a brand new Acer Aspire One Netbook.  It is brand new, so after I did the initial installation for the new netbook, Windows 7 is an update.  When the update is complete, it blocks my netbook.  I get a black screen and a cursor only.  The only way I can fix it is to restore back to the factory and start all over again.  Anyone know why this is happening or that updates 62 is the cause? I basically can't update my OS until it is fixed or know where it is and it can check the updated list.

You say you have 62 updates. The only true way to know what update is the cause of the problem is by installing one at a time.

I was looking especially the optional updates as shows drivers etc. If you are offered drivers, you should consult the manufacturer's website to see if indeed you really need the updated drivers.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 Starter Acer Aspire One D257

I have an Acer Aspire One D257. It has no built in DVD / Draw.  It came pre-installed with "windows 7 starter" I don't have a disc of recovery etc for this program. Last year I used widows any time upgrade to install "windows 7 Home premium upgrade," which has been installed via the internet by a Microsoft technician. Then I had the upgrade key sent to me by e-mail, what's left.  Later, I had problems with the computer and decided to windows 7 from re - stall. I visited the Microsoft site and downloaded the program on a USB Home premium windows 7 (32-bit).  I have this installed successfully in the D257 of Acer. But I was unable to activate with my key upgrade Windows 7 Home premium, for some reason any he does not accept it?  So now that I have a dilemma, I have a key that has cost about £76,00 for the upgrade that seems unnecessary.  Also, I am unable to revert to the original "windows 7 starter", as the system restore will allow me only to come back to a point in time that is after I installed windows 7 about 2 weeks ago. How can I fix this without having to buy another program again. P.S. I use an external DVD draw if I need. Can anyone help please.

Hi thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the recovery was wiped out when I installed the new windows 7. However, I have now solved the problem by buying a new product key that has been a success so now have windows 7 home premium installed and fully active. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

  • Windows 7 will not update on an Acer Aspire One 722

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire One 722 - A0722 - 64-Bit - I used the laptop and installed Windows 10 on it and it came to a crawl.  I decided to reset the computer to factory settings.  He succeeded, however, I can not install the updates of Windows.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1.

I tried to install updates for the first time without success and tried all the solutions I could find online.  I searched through forum after forum and tried all of the solutions that I found and not luck.  I installed several downloads, as recommended by Microsoft and not solutions.  I had subsequently to error code 8008005 and 0x8024402C and 0x8024001e.  I tried again the solutions and nothing has worked.  Most of the downloads that I did from herre: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows.aspx

I finally install CCleaner and updated to Explorer 11 I downloaded directly from the Microsoft Web site.  Who succeeded.  Nothing else has.

So, I wiped out the computer again and reset to factory settings and am at square one.  I installed NOTHING else at this point expect try Windows updates.  All I get is the progress monitor to continue to operate.  It was 'running' and research updates for nearly 30 hours and nothing.  It still reads ' check for Updates ' and nothing else.

Any help would be appreciated as I know what else to try.  This seems to be a common problem with no real solution at this moment that my search Google told me.

Two screenshots are below.  Thank you for any help or advice.  At this point, the computer is basically unusable and it's very frustrating.  I spent hours and hours and hours and nothing.

Thank you all and well be.    Brad

    Hello

In fact, I found a solution that works!  I found this on another forum... Here is the solution...

Hi I had this same problem, but it can be fixed easily, fist you need to do this update https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?i... There for 64 bit, before this, you must disconnect your wifi and LAN and uncheck the box you run internet settings where will be automatically connect when you start windows, and then restart your PC. Once the back is operational, run the update you just downloaded (make sure do not connect to the internet until the update is complete.  Reset.  Now that you have made, you must update the update here is the link to the DLhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/949104. Now, when it comes to restart your PC and go to update and this time it should find updates, can still take a little time, but usually get fist couple in 10 to 15 minutes.

PS - It analyzed more than an hour before he found updates and started to download. Yes!  It worked... I also downloaded the downloads on a flashdrive from my desktop PC and installed on the Acer from the USB key.

Thank you and well being.  Brad

  • Acer Aspire One model ZA3 (WIN XP) needs updated drivers

I'm still enjoying my Acer Aspire One manufactured in 2009 running Windows XP Edition family, but am running into the faults caused by ancient drivers.

A single analysis indicates that I need a driver updated GlobeTrotter MO40X but where and which?

Acer computers can update their own drivers somehow?

Thanks to anyone who can help me

Where can I get information on the model ZA3?

It's actually an Aspire One AO751h.  The drivers are available on the page drivers.

I don't know what you are "scanning", but the "GlobeTrotter" MO40X is not a driver for an Acer system package.

All the available drivers are on our page drivers.

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook.  (No DVD player).  From the start on the hard drive, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.  The cursor does not type.  For me, maybe I need to reinstall windows 7 and startup tasks are corrupt.  I have my product key genuine for the computer, but no way to get to windows.  How to restore windows on a netbook that won't start?

original title: Netbook Windows 7 problem

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

Borrow a 32 bit Genuine Windows 7 friends DVD disc if you know someone who has one.

Make an image of the DVD, you can use a program like ISO Recorder to do.
    http://alexfeinman.com/

If you don't have a Windows 7 DVD to borrow, try to upload a picture:

    32 bit
    http://MSFT-DNL.digitalrivercontent.NET/msvista/pub/X15-65732/X15-65732.ISO

You change the content of the. ISO file and delete the ei.cfg file. After having edited burn it to a blank DVD disc or put it on a USB key. Startup, it will reveal all editions of Windows 7, select the Starter edition. More information in the following article on how to change the file ei.cfg

Utility delete EI.cfg allows you to use a product key
    http://Lifehacker.com/#%215438005/eicfg-removal-utility-lets-you-use-any-product-key-with-your-Windows-7-disc

You can create a bootable USB stick with the following:
    Download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool
    http://store.Microsoft.com/help/ISO-tool

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

Enter the product key (this is the key of Windows 7 Starter, which would be located on the COA sticker at the bottom of your laptop)

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

They will give a confirmation ID, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

Once activation is complete, enjoy yourself, make a backup of your installation of Windows 7 Starter please? You will need to do this an external hard drive, but its worth it. Because if your installation is messed up, all you have to do is to restore from a backup.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

Once the backup is complete, you can do an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional by using the product key that you have, if it's a full key, Windows 7 Professional Anytime Upgrade retail or upgrade license key.

Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next and restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained.

Reactivate the installation, you may also do it by phone:
    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

I just installed a 2 GB DDR3 PC10600 - 1333 mhz memory, a SSD (Kingston V300 120 GB SATA III, working speed SATA II system) and Windows 10. Even with no UEFI support, basic 15 sec task machine boots are really fast. Video or live streaming, there could be some lag but is a normal cause its low vintegrated GMA video.

But some improve I can try now. I installed version of Windows is 64-bit. We know that 64 bit systems need at least 4 GB to run fluenty. So I'll install male and 32-bit W10 system more stable but that the CPU bottleneck.
