Windows 7 - unexpected stops

Hello

We have a desktop PC running Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit computer.  Recently, at the initial start-up or wake up from hibernation, we get the error "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown.  The file system and Windows Memory Diagnostic tool check both check out OK.  I understand that this is probably a driver issue, but have not been able to isolate.  Maintenance of the Action Center indicates the graphic driver NVIDIA stopped working 6 times, the last time which take place on 17/09/2014 at 16:53. Windows Update indicates that the driver NVIDIA GE Force 8500 GT is up-to-date.

It is an example of info of the observer of recent events below. Minidump files can be found at:

Any help to isolate the source of the problem is appreciated.  If any additional info is needed, please advise.  Thank you in advance.

The dump file downloaded leading to the same results, such as mentioned in the previous post. The defective module here is the nvlddmkm.sys, which is a NVIDIA driver. However, try to update the drivers for this video card.

Reference: Update a hardware driver that is not working properly

Hope this information is useful. Please get back to us, if still face issues with Windows in the future.

    Thanks in advance people :D

"computer has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, then he gives me the windows Update link.

Most of the time, it restarts itself during the update process.

Change it to no automatic installation, which is what I was hoping you would do to dismiss this case.

That's what brought me to update problems.

    See you soon.

  • laptop Windows 7 keeps stopping when she needs to sleep (no virus found nowhere) ideas?

laptop of 2010, when closed, will stop. When I close my laptop it should go to sleep after a few seconds, but 4-5 weeks ago it began to restart instead, randomly... So when I open it I get a notice of "unexpected stop. There is a bubble (MS) asking you to find remedies that shows progress for about 5 seconds and then disappears. I actually don't lose any info but my concern is that it's something with my computer which should not and could possibly interfere with it or my info. I scanned for viruses and spyware without results of malware. I have Webroot that has done a good job with a previous issue, but many scans and 2 trials GMER found nothing that I am aware. A scan MS run 3 times in safe mode did not find something or the other. I thought that this could be related to TWC.com Desktop so I deleted that and a script error that presented themselves. So I uninstalled everything that I could find that has been linked and script errors went away. This computer did not have a threat themselves in a scan with more than a score of level 1 (cookies) in the month. So why would this problem appear?

    Hello

Provide us with more information on the power options you have defined on the computer.

In addition, follow the steps from the link below and check if that helps: change what happens when you close your laptop: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-what-happens-when-you-close-your-laptop

  • HP20: Windows Explorer has stopped working, followed by windows explore restarts

Hello everyone, a few days my computer began to behave strangely. When you try to download some pictures using Chrome, windows Explorer has crashed, and a pop-up will appear showing the message: "Windows Explorer has stopped working". A few seconds after that, the entire desktop up-to-date and another window poped by displaying "Windows Explorer restarts... ».

The cycle of two windows appearing repeatedly. I restarted the computer as soon as it shows the office, the same thing happens again, to infinity.

I was able to restart the computer by using the security mode, it works just fine. I've disabled most of the software at startup, except 360 total security anti virus. It has not solved the problem.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you very much for any help!

    Matheus

Hi old_geekster, I tried what you said and it did not work. However, I then found the original source of microsoft where you got this info from, and they mention here on a corrupted video driver as a source as possible. That was the problem in my case: radeon tried to update earlier this week, but I was in a hurry and it did not properly. I tried again and it worked now!

Thnaks for your help, even if not exactly what I needed, it solved my problem!

  • "Windows Explorer has stopped working" if I open Control Panel

Guys, could someone help me please?

When I open the Control Panel, it says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then it restarts Windows Explorer. When I right click on any folder it says "recording of the UI language is not valid" 5 times and for a split second, it says "Corrupted registry" then it works. But I am unable to use the control panel.

I have Windows Vista home premium and Norton Antivirus.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

The error message says something about corrupt registry.
So, it seems that this issue would be related to incorrect or damaged registry entries.

If the registry is damaged, your operating system will not work as it should and can feel such or similar problems.

I m using the CCLeaner to clean the registry and other system files.
It s a free tool and you should try it.

If this does not work and if you notice the same question so I would recommend reinstalling the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.
In most cases this will help you fix this registry

  • Satellite Pro M70 - Windows XP has stopped working - registry problems

My M70 lost (I will follow soon!). Windows XP has stopped working, registry problems. I finished by using the Toshiba Recovery disk and reformat the hard disk. Said again there is some registry problems and crashing.

    One had similar problems?

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

If your laptop is always report registry errors after having re-installed the operating system from the recovery disc, then it is likely that your hard drive has errors. The Windows XP registry is composed of several files (or urticaria), and the installation process will always be located in the same area of the hard drive.

    Kind regards

As stated in the subject, I have a 2010 15 "MacBook Pro that runs on OSX Mavericks.

Does anyone have advice for this problem?

    Best regards, Matthias

    Satelite L300D 22R / 2GB / 160 MB / AMD Prozessor / PSLCGE

    Hello

This BSOD code usually means that you are using the wrong driver SATA.
Have you downloaded the driver from the Toshiba page?

The Satellite L300D-22R belongs to the PSLCGE series so have you chosen this model number on the Toshiba page? Maybe you should check it again!

In the worst cases, you install XP compatible mode. That's why you n t need a SATA driver, but some users reported that the AHCI mode is slightly faster

    Welcome them

After believing that my computer has somehow a virus and spend hours trying to solve the problem, I think that an update is causing the problem: I solved it by following these steps:

I think that norton or mcafee may have been preinstalled as trial versions, but I've never actually used them. Unfortunately I can't use the windows Explorer, so I can't check if they are still there.

We will cover all the possibilities.

    1. download each of the tools for deletion below, save it to your desktop:

    Norton Removal Tool: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    McAfee removal tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all software (including LiveUpdate and Add-ons of Norton) Norton through Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view)

IMPORTANT! => Activate the Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

IMPORTANT! => Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed the steps #4, #5 and #6 below!

    4. right click on one of the files that you saved in #1 above and select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    5. Repeat step #4 for another removal tool.

    Tips:

-Online use another computer to download the removal tool, if necessary, then transfer it to the computer via CD, DVD, or a USB brand new, never been used (flash drive), or a summer freshly updated in shape.

-Online start the problem in Mode safe computer, if necessary, proceed as above.

-Online after completing all of the above, uninstall AVG Free & reboot. Now do a new installation of AVG Free 9.0, this time select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (uncheck) Linkscanner Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, security or the email of crawl components toolbar.
